I am so disappointed in Pierre's. I have buying chocolate here for Christmas gifts for twenty-something years. I have always been pleased, but this Christmas was terrible. I purchased several one pound and half-pound boxes of chocolates. I specified for each box, that I wanted the boxes filled. I did not care what the weight or prices were. Each box contained assorted chocolate-covered fruits and truffles. I buy the same candy varieties each year, so I am speaking from experience. Every year, the boxes are filled with the chocolate-covered fruits overlapping each other and small paper cups, each with one truffle. The boxes look impressive, when opened. This year, the woman who helped me did not overlap the fruit and put them in the box piece by piece. One chocolate-covered orange slice took up one entire row!! Every year, there are easily three orange slices per row and four pieces of other fruit, I.e. apricots/peaches, per row. When my recipients opened their boxes, the candy looked awful. The boxes were half full. Once again, I explicitly said I did not care about weight and/or price. I wanted the boxes FILLED!!! I have never been so embarrassed! The candy was good, but the presentation was just awful. I am a very loyal and dissatisfied customer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited to say- I also purchase the solid milk chocolate, foil-wrapped balls. Let me tell you, they were smaller than half their usual size. The foil is so hard to remove, I needed my 5 year old's little fingers to unwrap them! Smaller in size, higher in price. read more

There are three chocolatiers in the tri-state area that are worth their weight and Peirre's is one of them for sure. It is a must stop whenever I am in the area, have never had a complaint. Their meltaway chocolates are outstanding. If you don't buy anything just the aroma in the store is a delight. I travel around the area and make a point of stopping in chocolate stores as my wife likes chocolate. No complaints from anything I have brought home from Pierre's. When I say they are tops, it is because I have been to many chocolate stores, stores that have been around for decades. These other stores make some chocolate and also resell other chocolate, not the highest quality. I will not mention these other stores as they obviously have a loyal following to be open for decades, I just want better. This shop has 35 years history and is operated under the second owner, they are not the new kid on the block for sure. But you want high end chocolate you have to stop in this rather non-descript store and give their wares a try. They also ship for a flat fee which I recently tried and the goods came earlier than expected, although I really rather prefer to visit the shop. read more

I came here during the week to pick up some chocolates for small gifts to my child's teachers (and of course, myself). The woman who helped me was outstanding-incredibly patient and knowledgeable as I asked different questions about the chocolates and varying amounts of chocolates that corresponded to their box (or bag) options. I wish I had asked her name. The shop has a "meltaway" chocolate variety. It was described and then a sample offered to help me really distinguish the difference between it and a truffle. I chose an assortment of meltaways, a few truffles, and caramel options. I really enjoyed that they offer options that are a collaboration with a local business (ex. chocolate made from cider from Manoff Cidery in New Hope). I love to see that. My favorite chocolate by far was the caramels. But there were many options/flavors that looked interesting and worth a shot the next time around. They also offered some very cool holiday-specific chocolates. Like ones molded for Easter and Passover. Will definitely return-for gifts, but also just for great tasting chocolate for myself. read more

Me and the wife stopped in for some amazing looking chocolates. I got Raspberry Crunch, Limoncello, Yuzu, Espresso, Fleur de Sel, and a Cherry Dessert Wine flavor. Best chocolates around! I'm so lucky to have grown up in New Hope and have been able to experience Pierre's Chocolates on Easter morning as a kid. Now I'm spoiled. I love the Milk Chocolate Vanilla Buttercreams, they are one of my favorites. I'm also in love with their fudge. No need to drive to the Jersey Shore for fudge when they have it here. They have a hugeee assortment of Truffles as well as Caramels and Meltaways. Another favorite of mine is the "Small Batch" chocolates... they are top quality. And almost too beautiful to eat. They come in such impressive combinations. They have some seasonal flavored chocolates and some that are liquor/beer infused. They usually have some local collaborations - recently I've seen Manoff Orchards being used for their Apple Cider Caramel. They also have used beer from Free Will Brewing, as well as rum and whiskey from Hewn Spirits. You are missing out if you haven't stopped in. Plus these make great gifts. All I know is, if I ever get married, I want towers of these chocolates at the reception. read more

I first visited Pierre's last year and fell in love. Their treats are one of a kind. Yesterday, I decided to order some goodies for my mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day and picked them up today. After I got home and checked my bag, I realized my strawberry order wasn't there. I rang up the shop really quick and they pulled up my order and came up with a solution for me.Though they had already closed for the day, they were staying late to fulfill orders for the holiday and they gave me the option to come back today or tomorrow to pick up the last bit of my order. I rushed over and could not thank them enough for accommodating me. With our world being turned upside down and the busyness of Mother's Day, patience and compassion is a must. I just got home again and opened my bag and they not only threw in some extra treats but they wrote a lovely note to thank me for my understanding. This gesture is not something that I was expecting and it shows how hard working, appreciative and deserving every employee at this business is. Do you like chocolates at ridiculously reasonable prices? If yes, this is for you! If no, you're weird. Weird is ok, but probably not really right for this review about a chocolatier. The dark chocolate is BOMB and while the bottom of the bon-bons might be a little thick it perfectly balanced with the delicious inner filling. Be aware, my review is only for dark chocolate, I don't really eat anything milk chocolate if I can avoid it. The best chocolate it town -- and I know because I've tried them all. This is my go to for special gifts for chocolate loving friends. Every kind of chocolate combo you can imagine -- peanut butter, white chocolate, raspberry, lemon -- and combos you can't imagine -- like wine and beer! All the chocolates are handmade on-site and it is a battle of will power to depart the premises without purchasing one of everything. They are miniature masterpieces. Each resembles a work of art and are absolutely decadent. Cashews and almonds look as if they are individually draped in blankets of dark chocolate. My friendly highly recommended this place so I ordered half pound of truffles. This place has some distinctive flavor. One of the special one I tried was the spicy truffle and chocolate. It is very different compare to the lindt brand. The sea salt one actually is more on the salty side so you don't taste much of the cbocolate. Pierre also has its own chocolate bar which is very rich and flavorful. I was only disappointed that it was out for the common espresso bean chocolate. read more

Cute store, but I am not a fan, as I stopped in today to buy peanut butter melt away chocolates that we like to get my mom for xmas every year. They had dark chocolate only but instead of accurately displaying the label,,they chose to drop the "dark" before the word chocolate and pass it off as regular ,,I question the clerk Bc it looked a little dark,. She said yes indeed they are actually the dark chocolate peanut butter meltaway's. I said OK will I don't want those ones I need regular chocolate peanut butter meltaway's. She informed me there weren't any. I said OK do you expect to have more before Christmas which is five days away she asked the boss or owner or whomever it was and was informed there would not be any more made before xmas. Get their Small Batch!! We take boxes on every business trip, and the customers LOVE us. The large box for a group, small for individuals (and their kids!).
