I have never been to a more disorganized, unsympathetic, unprofessional medical office in my life!…read more Not only have I had to wait at least an hour past my appointment start time to actually see my provider there, once he does come in to see me, he can't get out of there fast enough, and never spends more than 10 minutes with me, always making me feel rushed. While I am waiting in the exam room for a technician to start the appointment, they leave all those doors open and I've overheard conversations about other patients, about myself, and staff, and how awful their day is going or how rude or upset the people are they are dealing with! On top of that, I have had so many times that the staff has dropped the ball on completing a request to get a medication pre-approval through my insurance and sent to the pharmacy for me. I've had to play the middle-man between the office, the insurance company, and the pharmacy for over a month now, only to find out that the office has not even submitted the requests I keep asking them to do but they keep placating me over the phone telling me they've already done it when they haven't! Save yourself the the frustration and wasted time and go somewhere else. It's unfortunate because I had heard good things about the doctors here but with so many things wrong with the office, it's just not worth my time or my health to go here.

And they're booking apprs every 15". What????? Going to jam as many people in a day as possible to keep the earnings up there. No customer respect. I've another medical condition which means that I CANNOT be waiting for 2 to 3 hours for an appointment.

I went in for a routine eye exam. Dr. Benoit was the most sexist man I have encountered in a long…read moretime. His casual comments about women made me cringe. He went on and on about his experience with golf (he is clearly not an athlete) and how women who are good at golf should just let men win if they want a date! I asked him if he would just pretend to not be a good eye Doctor so that he could impress me? He said he had gone to some big event where ladies were playing golf a few years ago at The Orchards and wow, they could really hit the ball well. I informed him that that big event was in fact the US Open. And like wow, I can hit the ball too. He never explained what he was doing to my eyes (putting drops in it). And he acted like something was wrong with me when I flinched at the drops going in. I asked him if I was the first person that had ever had that reaction when a stranger was dropping fluid into someones eyes? I just wanted to get out of there. Never going back to that place again.

I was referred to Dr Rioux because my eye doctor was concerned about glaucoma (in my late 30s). My…read moreeye doctor said I had low pressure, but Rioux and her assistant said the pressure was high (without a thorough exam). I was told drops or surgery were my only options. I wasn't comfortable with the entire experience - including the always full mini waiting room in a spare exam room. No sooner would one patient go in, two more would appear. I left feeling bullied (by Rioux's assistant) and questioning their diagnosis. I got a second opinion from another eye doctor - no glaucoma and normal pressure. Rioux and her team seemed more interested in seeing how much money they could make off my insurance company and I and they had very little concern for my eyes. I'm so grateful I refused the unnecessary drops and surgery!! I would NEVER let Rioux near my eyes again.

I was referred to Dr. Rioux at least 5 years ago for Glaucoma treatment. I am a rather technically…read moreminded and annoying patient. Dr. Rioux has always graciously explained any of my detailed questions to my personal satisfaction. My Glaucoma has required a mixed strategy over these years and my condition is now well controlled. Her regular examinations not only monitor my Glaucoma, but also watch for my hereditary possibility of macular degeneration, as well as any sign of diabetes. Dr. Rioux also performs surgeries in Springfield and staffs a number of Connecticut Valley clinics, besides Greenfield. If she is just out to make money, she'd never have the time to spend any of it! The major part of her waking life seems to be dedicated to her patients. I am 65 now, and am headed for cataract surgery, with her. I have absolute faith in her ability and look forward to being able to see correctly, again.
