Ten years ago the cheap glasses I had bought were fixed for free and when I needed new glasses, I decided to return to the nice man who had fixed my cheap glasses for free. He fitted me perfectly for progressive lenses and those lenses saved my vision. Can you get cheaper glasses somewhere else? No. You simply cannot, because hour for hour of wear these are absolutely the most cost effective, comfortable, and in my case safest available. The staff are extremely talented, knowledgeable, efficient, and helpful. There are roughly 24,000 waking hours in a four year period. If you invest less than a half penny for each of those hours you more than cover any premium you would save going to McGlasses or McGlasses.com and you will have the finest glasses available. How ugly are the faces in your life or boring the books you read or bland the flowers you look at that you would even think of not investing in the best for your eyes?

My…read moreeye doctor said I had low pressure, but Rioux and her assistant said the pressure was high (without a thorough exam). I was told drops or surgery were my only options. I wasn't comfortable with the entire experience - including the always full mini waiting room in a spare exam room. No sooner would one patient go in, two more would appear. I left feeling bullied (by Rioux's assistant) and questioning their diagnosis. I got a second opinion from another eye doctor - no glaucoma and normal pressure. Rioux and her team seemed more interested in seeing how much money they could make off my insurance company and I and they had very little concern for my eyes. I'm so grateful I refused the unnecessary drops and surgery!! I would NEVER let Rioux near my eyes again.

Dr. Rioux has always graciously explained any of my detailed questions to my personal satisfaction. My Glaucoma has required a mixed strategy over these years and my condition is now well controlled. Her regular examinations not only monitor my Glaucoma, but also watch for my hereditary possibility of macular degeneration, as well as any sign of diabetes. Dr. Rioux also performs surgeries in Springfield and staffs a number of Connecticut Valley clinics, besides Greenfield. If she is just out to make money, she'd never have the time to spend any of it! The major part of her waking life seems to be dedicated to her patients. I am 65 now, and am headed for cataract surgery, with her. I have absolute faith in her ability and look forward to being able to see correctly, again.

If I don't take them, my death would be imminent. When I had spoken with my doctor's assistant saying that I needed to refill my prescriptions, she said she would send in an order to them after she got off the phone with me. This was over 2 weeks ago. I hadn't gotten a text or call from the pharmacy saying my meds were ready to pick up. I tried calling them in. I was told I didn't have any more refills. ?????? It didn't make sense. They said they would have to call my doctor and would call me when they were ready. Three days went by and I had heard nothing. I called AGAIN and was told AGAIN they needed to call my doctor. I wanted to make sure I got them before the snow emergency, just in case it was more snow than predicted and I wasn't able to get out. I called again and they still hadn't spoken with my doctor. ?????? I couldn't believe it. In my opinion, they showed no compassion, only apathy. Later that day, I got a text that my prescriptions were ready. My husband picked them up for me. When he got home and I opened the bag, they were allergy meds, not the life-or-death medications I needed. The blizzard came and went and I still hadn't received a call or text. On Saturday night, when I realized I had only 4 doses left - 2 more days worth - I panicked. A little after 4:15 AM on Sunday, I was overwhelmed with fear and very upset. After making a few calls, I finally reached my doctor's assistant's line and left a frantic voicemail that the pharmacy wasn't giving me refills and I needed help. I received a call from the assistant early Monday morning who told me that the prescription was called in over 2 weeks ago - ?????? - so she didn't understand why they weren't giving me my meds. She said she would call the pharmacy and put the order in again. When I spoke to her afterward, she said the pharmacy claimed that they never got the order. ?????? She told them that she was looking at the order that was sent on her system and they should have received it over 2 weeks ago. They had no explanation, so she sent in another order and had to stay on the phone with them to verify they had received it. When it showed up in their system, they confirmed they had it and would process the order right away. Getting prescription drugs that you need in order to survive shouldn't be this difficult. From their system, they know what medications I take and how long I've been taking them. They completely dropped the ball on this and caused me a lot of stress that could have been prevented.
