I have had two bad experiences with the sales department. I was misled and lied to. The staff do not listen to your needs and will try to sell you what you don't want. They will say anything to get you to come to the dealership "the truck is not onsite but we will get it here for you to look at." Upon arrival the truck was not there. They even called to ensure I was coming in, the sales manager just left out the part they didn't have the truck. lets not forget the prices. I should have looked into that before I drove to the dealership. The truck was listed at 19,500. KBB has it at 12,000 at the most. I felt the price was high but..... ouch. learn from my experiences. I have tried to call them 5 times. 1st call to service dept, they picked up and disconnected the call. 2nd call, the parts dept answered and transferred but it rang over 30 times with no answer. 3rd call receptionist answered and I asked for the service manager, again 100 rings with no answer. 4th call they picked up and forwarded somewhere and it rang 50 times. 5th call, I was going to ask for the GM and they picked up the call and hung up immediately! The Sales Department/Management could not locate my "new, specual order". It was in Spokane, to be delivered to Prosser on January 5, 2023. It was LOST /misplaced for 11 weeks in Spokane. Management does NOT return calls. Luckily I was put in touch with Olivia Guthrie at Denchels. She was able to locate my car. Finally able to pick up May 3, 2023. Worst service. Took my jeep in to get my lights fixed. The day I took my jeep home I noticed the lights stopped working again. I called right back to have them double check their work because obviously they didn't fix the problem. They want to charge me another 200 just to look at it again. I had just paid them over 800. Not to mention when I showed up for my appointment they kept asking me what my name was as if I wasn't giving them my correct name and demanded to see my email confirmation from them because they didn't have me on there schedule at all. I've been here twice and both times have been the worst customer service I have ever been given in a Ford Dealership. The first visit I gave them the benefit of the doubt shrugging it off as a bad day for them. But their rudeness is consistent. When I called to explain the issues I was having with shaky braking and giving them what I believed to be an issue (which turns out I was correct in both instances), I was interrogated on the phone as if I talked to someone on trial. "Who told you?" "Where'd you hear that?" On top of the bad service, their prices are outrageous. I own a 2013 Ford Focus that I've had for 7 years. The cost of repairs they wanted to perform was the same price as the worth of the car! $640 for rotor resurfacing. $1400 for a leaky gasket. $440 for an air filter replacement. The diagnosing fee was $200. It will be the last bit of money they get from me. Complete rip-off with a dash of rude customer service on top. read more

In May of 2021 I purchased a 2017 MKX Lincoln from Tom Denchel Ford and got the extended complete warranty for $4,250 . which was to be 72 months or 85,000 miles whichever came first. I currently have 82,654 miles on the car so I took the car into them to have the rear shocks replaced as they were leaking and was charged $105.94 for their diagnosis and was told it would not be covered by warranty and to have them replace them it would be $821.60. However before I took it to them I had gotten another bid from a Pendleton Auto repair shop and was told it would $250.00 for parts and labor. BEWARE OF TOM DENCHEL FORD'S warranty promises and the financial representative with them had told me I would have bumper to bumper coverage! They also did the contract signing over the internet as I am out of state. The Finance Manager Susana also great picked me up at the airport and took me to dealership. The Manger came out and introduced himself and expressed his appreciation while waiting for last couple things and the truck to be gassed up. Took the keys and drove off. COMPLETELY DISATISFIED! HORRIBLE SERVICE! Took our 2021 Expedition in for Service on the transmission and AC for warranty work in Oct 2023. The transmission had to be replaced and the AC serviced. We've received excuse after excuse as to why the vehicle is not ready when it is scheduled for pick up, why the mechanic is running behind, why we cannot be authorized rental car for warranty work when they have our vehicle for over one month, why we have made twelve different 45 minute trips to and from home to Denchell Ford in Hermiston, why our appointments were not on their schedule, why appointments had to be rescheduled, and why our vehicle is picked up an hour late from our home, for an unresolved AC problem. After a complaint to the service department manager Ramon, who assured me he would take care of us and himself stated we were given a whole bunch of excuses I began to feel heard but I was wrong. The AC still has not been fixed and we were charged for parts that caused a leak they created. I tried contacting the store manager, Juan Azuna, twice. He was not available. I eft messages for an urgent return of call informing him there was a problem, he never returned a call. Here we are 5/25/2024, nine months from the original visit with a slew of excuses, an incompetent service department, no initiative from top management to resolve the issue, and a vehicle with no AC. This is not only completely unacceptable it is also a contradictory representation of the Ford slogan "Ford Proud" which highlights the pride Ford feels for its employees and vehicles. I doubt Henry Ford would be "Ford Proud" of our situation and the service we have received. I have been a proud owner of Ford vehicles for 44 years. I have never had a bad experience with my vehicles or any other service department. I most definitely do not recommend Pierre Denchel Ford for any type of business! read more

My boyfriend recently had some work done on his car here and I can safely say it was our worst customer service experience to date. He had to have his car towed to the dealership because it wouldn't start and was informed that the service center most likely wouldn't be able to have the car ready until the following day. Not a problem at all however a few hours later he received a call from the dealership saying that his car wasn't in the lot and they needed to know where the keys were. First of all, the car was at the lot - he'd watched the tow truck drop it off there himself - they just didn't look hard enough... for a car... which I guess is easy to miss. Secondly, the car was at the dealership because it needed to be re-keyed and he'd informed multiple people at the dealership about this and it was the reason the car was there in the first place. While over the phone, instead of listening to my boyfriend, they attempted to argue that the car wasn't there. But I digress. A few hours after the phone call they called him again to let him know that the car would need to be charged to re-key it and it definitely wouldn't be ready until the next day. So I drove him back home (a thirty minute drive) and he got a call as soon as we arrived saying the car was ready for pick up and he needed to speak to the sales manager about processing payment because it was some sort of tedious process. It's about 8pm at this point. We drive back over to Hermiston and arrive at the dealership only to be told we'd be seen in a few minutes because the sales manager was busy and we needed him - and him specifically - to process the payment with us. A few minutes turned into 45 and before you say I am exaggerating, I wasn't. I counted each and every last minute of them. The icing on the cake was me watching the sales manager sit in his office the whole time laughing with coworkers. Side note, when the sales manager occasionally strolled pass us he had a very dirty way of staring at me which felt incredibly threatening and I even voiced to my boyfriend how uncomfortable I felt. Finally 45 minutes came and went and the sales manager finally escorted us to process payment which I thought would take longer so I became even more frustrated. This very tedious task that we absolutely needed the sales manager and no one else to do took less than a minute. So then I was really frustrated. Frustrated that we waited almost an hour to swipe a card and sign a receipt that we absolutely could not've done with anyone else. As we exited the building I left my boyfriend to be walked back to his car and I began to drive away only to be called 30 seconds later because my boyfriends car was dead and needed to be jumpstarted. I guess leaving the car to charge in the shop and maybe turning it on and letting the car charge itself for a moment longer was a big ask. So I sped my happy self back into Hermiston to assist him and very loudly verbalized in an empty Ford dealership parking lot how unsatisfactory this entire fiasco played out. I will not be returning to this dealership in the future for an oil change, let alone a Ford specific issue and neither will my boyfriend. I don't think this is a reflection on Ford as a brand by any means, just a reflection on this dealership. Do yourself a favor and go to Corwin or literally any other Ford dealership. read more

So I went here for a new car, my first ever car. First it did not have the mode that I wanted the most which was 4 wheel drive. The salesman (his name was Jay) screwed me out of a warranty because where I was living. My O2 sensor is out and they basically told me I am going to need to pay for the diagnostic, the part, and the service all because the salesman told me that I wouldn't get much out of the warranty and did not check every part on the car. What a dump. A while back we went to look at a jeep, made an appointment with sales guy and after the long drive there, found out that the vehicle reeked of smoke even before we entered it, the windshield was totally scratched up and nothing was mentioned to us before hand. They said they will clean out the car to get rid of the intense smell of cigarettes, they never called us again. I guess they had hoped we would be idiots and buy as is, while there. That situation is taken care of because we got a great car at a different dealer for my daughter. Today, months later, we are again in the market for another vehicle, this time for ourselves. We thought to give them a second chance but realized shortly after, it was again a waste of time: We wanted to look at a specific car and they had it listed online under "extended inventory"and I wanted to see the color before we order the truck. My husband called first but the phones were not working, so we drove all the way again and then found out the car is not even on the lot. Still look like a dump also. Will never go back there. I wish I'd read the reviews and could get my week back. Believe this review or not, it will sound strange. I saw a car listed online last Sunday. Long drive but decided to go look. At The Dalles I thought, I better check if it's still there. Took me an hour and four calls to get an answer on where the car was. Long story short, it wasn't there. Was it in Prosser? At first, yeah. Then it was in Bellevue, they were going to pick it up up there this week. Could I come meet them to see it, since I was in Vancouver? Sure, I say. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, says Dean. OK Wednesday's my day off, sounds good. Later, I text, what's the situation for Wednesday? Oh, now the car's being used as a loaner, we'll see if we have it back on Saturday, could we meet in The Dalles? Yes, I can, I say. So today is Friday. The car just got off the truck, says Dean, can I drive over tomorrow? If we don't make a deal I'll fill your tank, he says. Yes I can drive over tomorrow I say. I ask general condition just to be sure, is there a sunroof, etc. At this point Dean says OK, actually though the car is headed for Prosser as we speak, the only way I can keep it here for you is if you call my boss right now and pay $500 by credit card. Weird, but as I'm going to pay $8000 anyway, I say OK. I call Juan Ozuna, the boss. Hi Juan, Dean told me to call you with card info for the Infiniti. Oh no man, I have a guest interested in that one in Prosser, only way I can keep it for you is if you pay. Right I say, I have the card I will pay, Dean said $500. No, you have to pay the full amount he says. I just spoke to Dean two minutes ago I say. He says yeah I told Dean $500 _wouldn't_ work, it has to be all $8000. Obviously I am irritated, I explain I have been playing phone tag on this for a week, trying to meet, and now 630pm Friday you're saying I can't even get to the car. I understand, Juan says. No, you don't understand, I say, or we wouldn't be having this conversation. I say thank you and hang up. I don't know which of them was telling the truth, but it can't have been both. read more

I know customer comments are are getting to the sales staff and concerns addressed. I was without my old pride and joy, looking at a full motor replacement sitting in their shop. Tim and Juan met personally with me for 30 minutes listening to my concerns. The GM at Denchel Ford changed some time ago; I was unaware Juan Ozuna was GM. If a customer has a problem at Denchel Ford, Hermiston Store I can assure you Juan Ozuna will do every thing within his power to resolve your issue and if he can't he will bring Tim Buffington, Owner & CEO to the table. I was told by them I would walk away a satisfied customer. I made that a tall order through several phone calls and emails. I gave Scott Magnusun an offer for Juan . . . . within seconds I was at Juan's desk with my long list and tall order for a new F-150 FWD Super Cab pickup. We talked, he pushed buttons, I asked for concessions, he didn't budge much . . . . Juan got Tim on the phone . . . . Long story short: I conceded a canopy on the new F-150 I purchased 11-25-2014. Short the canopy . . . . it was a win for them but what I gave them in difference massaged my ego & that's customer service without the customer knowing it. ('The Power of Ethical Persuasion'). We'll see if this pu lasts better than the old one that died at 128K . . . . They threw in a new canopy on that pickup when I bought it . . . . Go figure? Kudos to Juan Ozuna, GM of the Hermiston store you have assembled a great team of folks working at Denchel Ford under trying circumstances of a huge volume crammed into a postage-stamp lot. Good luck in the future securing a new facility with ample room and well equipped service bays for your Technicians. In the service department I'd like to compliment my Service Writer, Javier and Jon, the Service Technician that tore down my old motor. I'm not a new face to these guys . . . . They're all good. Without much question I will most likely purchase my next new car from Denchel Ford. I think I got a good enough deal but not without a great deal of consternation. Then I had to finance part of the price to get rebates offered. I don't like paying interest if possible. The whole process was pretty time consuming to get close to where I needed to land. I have a large diesel pickup, Ford F450, that I haul fruit with during a 4-week window of harvest. Of course, this is the time the pickup would act up. Under load, it would drop into limp mode. The service department said the "codes" called for a $56 sensor which would run about 3 hours of labor and diagnostics, totaling about a $750 estimate. While replacing the sensor, the mechanic twisted it off. He was unable to extract the sensor. The sensor and the pipe between the exhaust and turbo needed replacing. The new estimate was now running roughly $2100. They would need to pull the cab off the chassis to access the pipe. At this point I asked them to reassemble it and I would take it as is. They refused and said that is not possible. A week later while replacing the pipe, the mechanic twisted off a bolt holding the pipe to a turbo. The mechanic was unable to extract the broken bolt, so he pulled the turbo and sent it out to a machine shop for repair. Now the bill is up to over $2800. We all understand mistakes and mishaps, but these are certainly NOT the customer's responsibility. I specifically asked the mechanic if he had used penetrating oil. He said no. There was also no visual indication that the part had been preheated before attempting part removal. The Bottom line; I had my truck tied up for 2 1/2 weeks of a 4-week harvest window and was charged $2800 for a $750 job. I had to rent another truck to meet my harvest hauling obligations. I was forced to make many extra trips all over eastern and central WA and OR and countless extra hours (and expense) to prevent my customers from losing their crops. Lastly, the problem wasn't fixed. It still has the same failure as when I took it in. By the way, based on my many attempts trying to call the service department, they don't answer their phone-ever. Have invoice showing oil and filter changed, 299 miles later change oil required light came on, truck had only 8,000 miles it was original oil, (saved sample and filter). Had a block heater installed, power cable not properly secured near steering gear input shaft, a safety issue. Had another Ford Dealer look over the truck. Update: several emails, passed on to Juan but still no resolution! Appears that Nick got to busy to solve their problem. First contact date: May 10, 2017, two weeks have gone by so far!! Will keep updating. 06-03-2018 Update: Got an offer from Juan for two oil and filter changes, that does not even cover the costs of work done by my local Ford Dealer, let alone try correct the ill will created by the fraudulent service invoice. Drove from Walla Walla to the service department for a basic "works" package. (Oil change, tire rotate, etc) Guy who checked me in (and checked me out) was incredibly nice, friendly and efficient. However I picked up the car and noticed my tires were not rotated. I brought the service advisor back out who said "yes sir he said he rotated them" showing me the receipt and check list. I said "no, he didn't, because this one tire is brand new (just had a flat a couple days before) and it hasn't been moved. He politely apologized and ran back to check with his mechanic. He came back apologetically and said he was u sure how the mechanic "forgot" but he could do it now if I wanted. At this point I was done, ready to go, and obviously annoyed. I'm fairly confident he didn't "forget" to do it, and simply didn't rotate thinking I wouldn't notice. I called to voice my complaint with the service manager, a message was taken with no return call. Not something I appreciate at all! Won't be back! read more

This was perhaps the worst car purchase experience that we have ever been through. We researched local dealerships for the car we wanted and found that this place had one. We get to the lot and ask about the car. We were told that it was at a different lot and we could ride with the salesman to meet a person halfway and get a long test drive. Sounded good but ended up stopping at yet another lot and switching cars. Silly to say the least. Anyway finally test drive the car and get back to the dealership and my wife liked it and we agreed to work on buying it. The entire drive to get this car (45 minutes) we listened as we were treated to the stories of the pride that this lot takes in the cars it sells and the customer service they provide. They used infantile sales tactics (lies, pressure, and good cop/bad cop) from the salesman to the manager. I let them because we needed to get a car due to our other vehicle being totalled. This was nothing and still continues to be nothing but a complete headache. The night we brought the car home the transmission made terrible noises and two days after the service airbag indicator came on, while driving down the highway. So much for the "quality of car" hype job. The customer service must be a goal that they intend to reach several years from now because it is non existent at this point. Need proof? Just visit their sales floor where you may mistake it for a frat house lobby. Loud, obnoxious, and completely unprofessional. It is so unfortunate that they don't understand that reputation matters and is the foundation of long lasting local business. This may be their job but it's our lives. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you are desperate or stupid. Unfortunately at the point I was there I was both. That was my mistake and one I will never make again. I spoke with an internet salesperson about a vehicle I was interested in. I called her back to set an appointment to see the car and have my trade in valued. I mentioned that the car I was interested in was no longer showing up in thier on line inventory. I was assured that it was still available. This morning I made the 45 minute drive over, but when I arrived the salesperson was not there, and neither was the car I wanted. I waited for about 20 minutes before another salesperson informed me the car I wanted had been sold on Dec 23rd. They would be glad to show me something else. Just like the bait and switch tactics used in the 80's. I can understand an honest error, but this was an out and out lie to get me in so they could try to sell me something else! I went to Tom Denchel to replace my pickup. I communicated to the salesmen on multiple occasions that I was looking for a reliable pickup that I wouldn't have to put much money in to as I don't put a lot of mileage on my vehicle. They directed me to 09 Dodge Ram. The vehicle test drove well and I trusted that the vehicle was in great condition, as this is what the salesman said..and the price I paid. I had not driven 500 miles before the check engine light came on. I took it in to the dealer mechanics and was told that I needed a new water pump, thermostat, and spark plugs- $1K. I called the sales department at Tom Denchel and asked if they could help with this repair given the circumstances. The salesman said he would check with his supervisor and I never heard from him again. So, $1000 and less than a few weeks later the check engine light is back on. I am beyond frustrated and feel taken advantage of. Also, when I checked my glove box they had left all of the previous owners personal documents in there. My experience leads me to believe that they were either being careless or untrustworthy, but I wouldn't recommend Tom Denchel Ford. read more

I feel a week and a half was a liitle to long to replace a broken sway bar. They found I need to replace the idler pulley at $129.00 this was a $16.00 part at auto zone took a hour and half to install it, and my friend isn't a professional mechanic. My van was going to be too expensive to repair (according to the Dodge dealership), so I purchased a Ford Edge from the Dodge place (they are connected with the Ford place) Anyway, long story shorter, my vehicle had many many problems. This was my worst vehicle purchase nightmare. I no longer had my paid for van and this new vehicle was having some similar issues. Originally, the place that they got an extended warranty through (which has a huge $200 deductible that I wish the Dodge sales team was more upfront about), was refusing to pay for the doors being stuck in lock because the "inspector" they sent couldn't get the doors to malfunction. Shawnica finally got them to pay for 3 broken locks, saving me thousands of dollars. However, I think they may have done the wrong door in the back, we will find out if it locks up on me. My vehicle was in the shop for three weeks and Ford covered the rental car at first but may be now covered by the extended warranty. The Dodge place covered whatever was causing the check engine light to come on as it wasn't covered by the extended warranty (figures). Ford also replaced the battery that died. I can't complain, Ford and Dodge really out did themselves in trying to help me. I appreciate it very much. read more

We arrived last Sunday afternoon to "look" at a few vehicles listed in the Nickel. It was very hot outside and as we went inside Scott offered each of us an ice cold bottled water. We then took two test drives and I knew I'd found my car. I was hesitant only because it was more than I wanted to spend. Scott offered to see what he could do and we all went inside. I wasn't confident they would work with "someone like me - with some credit issues". I mean this was obviously a reputable dealership. Since Scott had another appointment that came in, I was handed over to Jamie's very capable hands. Both salesmen were gentlemen. They treated me with respect and they were genuinely interested in making the deal work within my budget and making me a happy customer. I had never had that experience before with a dealership. NEVER. I would recommend this dealership and those two salesmen to anyone. You will be treated well and they will do their best to work within your means and situation. read more

salesman at theTom Denchel Ford Country ( dodge store) was very nice and helpful but when he wasent moving fast enough with us this big guy who told us he was the manager and then proceded to insult us and be rude. I told our salesman that I was still interested in the truck if we could work a deal without the manager involved......we still don't have the truck and know no one will even call me back. I will not be sending anyone I know to the dodge store as long as that manager is still there!!! i drove 4 hours to look at and buy this truck 2 diferent tines and I don't like being told how stupid I am for doing so !! read more
