I really don't ever take the time to write reviews but this got my blood boiling. I am sure I will be able to find the answers and get outside help to make sure benefits are filed properly but it's unacceptable that you can't easily make an apt online and then have the workers refusing to give people the help they need. Let alone the poor attitude from everyone helping today, you could feel the hate for their job through the phone .

It's incredibly impressive how utterly dark, I mean like close your eyes at the bottom of the sea…read moredark, they can make this little parking lot and have it still be a spectacularly a nice day beyond the exit doors. The social security administration has no phone number to call. When you walk into the building there is a very nice guard who tells you that you can take a number and then he powers down. Like, "Yea, sure, you can live here until we close." Right on brand, very cold, kindless place. The DMV isn't too bad anymore, maybe this place could rebrand like that too.

Arrived at 7:24 AM. At 9:00 AM, doors opened. Individuals…read morewith appointments were slowly allowed inside, while those without appointments--including disabled individuals--were required to wait outside. I was finally allowed in at 9:11 AM, checked in at the kiosk, and waited. At approximately 9:32 AM, my number (S196) was called. I explained that I had received a fully favorable decision for both SSI and SSDI and that my concern was specifically regarding my SSDI payment, which had not yet been received despite prior processing steps already being completed. The agent immediately defaulted to a scripted response, repeatedly stating that everything was "being processed," without listening to or acknowledging the specifics of my situation. I clarified multiple times that I had already completed my interview in February and had received SSI, but not SSDI. Instead of addressing the discrepancy, the agent continued to repeat the same generic response. I then requested to speak with a supervisor. I was told I could not, because she had already "answered my question." When I calmly asked again, she closed the window on me without providing her name or any assistance. Security then began pressuring me to leave. I stepped outside, contacted my attorney, and returned to formally request a supervisor. I was made to wait outside again--standing, in the cold--until approximately 10:52 AM before being allowed back in. After additional waiting, I was finally able to speak with a supervisor and file a formal grievance. I left the office at 11:19 AM. This experience reflects a serious lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic respect--especially toward individuals with disabilities who rely on these services. Requiring people to wait outside for extended periods, combined with dismissive and obstructive staff behavior, is unacceptable.

It's been a while since I have had to renew my driver's license and as that amount of time has…read morepassed since my last renewal quite a few licensing offices have closed around Tacoma which makes the remaining ones considerably more challenging to navigate. What I mean by this is in reference to this specific location is that parking can be quite a challenge to this small parking lot for the visitor section and a line of people waiting is accumulates extremely fast and as a result the longer the line grows the slower it's going to be. So making an appointment is the way to go here. Definitely plan a considerable amount of time ahead to get to this location in case you make a wrong turn as well as waiting to find a parking place...because you are bound to have to sit in your car until a space opens up...but the best way to avoid all that in addition to the appointment is take the first time slots that are available when you make an appointment online. Depending on the day it's like 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. If you go with the earlier option that's the best because there are already a bunch of people sitting in the lobby ready to start the line. So key things here....1) make an appointment...2) take the earliest time slot (9 a.m. if you can) which will give you a greater likelihood of meeting your appointment and getting your car parked with relative ease. For those who made an appointment the line is much smaller upon opening and if you check in you will get a confirmation number in which it will be called upon. Once you go up to a representative for me at least the process itself was fast. They confirm your residential address, make sure height and weight are accurate, get your picture taken and if need be you take an eye exam...typical stuff as usual with the renewal process there. You get the choice if you want to renew your license for six or eight years. I went with the eight year option as our lives are busy enough and the longer we can have a license and reduce the frequency of the renewal licensing process the better. Once all the usual information and process was done...which was very smooth and efficient it took only about seven minutes for the renewal itself if you don't count the time of waiting for the doors to open to the department (it took an hour from start to finish from leaving home and getting back to home). Another aside at this office is if you are in for a wait and need the restroom you will need a code. Maybe you can get in if someone else enters the code but if not you will need to probably get it from the receptionist.

I was a guest here in 2014 and had the most disturbing experience. There first night I was there I…read moremet a young girl (I would say she was in her early 20's) and she was very ill. This was her first visit to jail and, at first I thought she was dope sick (seems like everyone is the first few days in jail, sadly) but then I could tell it was something far more serious. She informed me that she needed her heart medication and they would not listen to her. I even attempted to talk to the officer to let them know what was going on but those attempt's were useless. If you've ever been to jail you know their favorite response to any need you might have is "go fill out a kite" so I showed her how to do this and I'm pretty sure that kite was never even read by the staff before the traffic turn of events. I was in the cell next to here and assured her I would be there if she needed to talk and I would do what I could to help her. During the middle of the night I was woken by the sound of a defibrillator machine. And while they had covered my cell window so I couldn't see out, it didn't take long to figure out what was going on. With tears steaming down my face, I listened to them try to get this girls heart beating for what seemed like forever. They were unsuccessful and this poor girls life was taken and it could have been prevented. I've never witnessed such inhumane treatment in my life. This girl tried to tell the staff members many times and not one of them helped her. It was in the newspaper. A short paragraph telling of a 23 year old woman who died of "natural causes". No, Pierce County, she died from your negligence and it should have never happened. I don't know if her family was ever told what really happened and it's terrifying that the jail was never held accountable. This girl was not a druggie and was not trying to get drugs to get high or something. She was begging for someone to listen to her and give her the heart medication she needed. Not one person there had the human decency to help her.

Aside from the horrifying filthy conditions and sickening food (cold hot dogs in a cold bun, brown…read morelettuce etc). You are in a 4x9 cement cell most of the 24 hour day. If you need medication forget it. You will slowly deteriorate until some power hungry guard thinks you are "misbehaving"and either hits you or drags you to "solitary..or more likely, both. And if you have/need glasses to see and function forget that too. Rather be dead than in this hellhole.
