I didn't have an appointment but walked in around 12n. Within the hour I was checked in and seen and out of there. And the best part I got my doc sec ck the next day direct deposit when it usually came a week later read more

This office is very unprofessional at handling calls that I truly thought The person working here was a fraudulent person out to get my social security information just by the way he answered the phone. No thanks, I'd rather sit on hold for 1+hours with the 1-800 line. read more

These guys love to say we are FEDERAL to support their massive ego trips and posturing but this is one of the single worst and most disorganized offices I have seen. I am getting ready to move out of state and have no doubt that once I reach my new home I will have better luck. Not sure why there is even a review option as SSA feels they are too big to fail. Pride comes before the fall. read more

This office is totally unprofessional. Security guards will not let you in if you do not have appointment which is not the protocol of the Social Security office as it posted on the website and agents have professed. They are rude uncooperative the agents are nice when you get to them, but they fool around way too much when you call the Social Security line you can never get through People say they'll transfer you to a department and it disconnects to the main number. Horrible horrible customer service. read more

It was fast after my appointment time and Karen who served me was kind and efficient.

They provide good services but not good with calls...one usually has to wait 50minutes before sm1 gets to the line. Between that time frame one waits for 15minutes then you get an automated message saying to call back at a later time as they are still assisting other members...n sure enough you dont get the help you need while waiting to be served. I would rather wait than them dropping that call n waiting since it would interupt and have other callers calling at the same time too. Is there a way to execute and rectify that and make it better for customers and for a better customer service?? Hoping for a good feedback Thnx Angie read more

1800 772 1213. Need to call to make an appointment to see a warm body. I waited from 0900 till 1430 to get a Human on the phone!! Only to get an appointment for 2 months out! Then you have the rent a cop out front who is a total phalic symbol blocking the door to go in that huge wasteful office. Over all this org gets a 0.0 rating!!! read more

Very helpful. Arrived before opening time. Then a big line up before the door unlocked. Entrance to parking lot is on 48th not 47 as posted. read more

They never get back to you! I have been trying for months to get something straightened out. Horrible management there !

All of the workers call out sick leaving only two windows open. Over a 3 hour wait. Little parking. You can loose your place in line if you use the restroom. read more

I've waited for my ticket to be called and consistently checked the screen. the next time I checked my number was on the screen but it wasn't called. I got up just to see that there was still a person there then the next person went but my number was still with them and not called. I checked with the lady but she said she called it 3 times. It was somewhat quiet in the lobby so I would've heard it, yet she claimed she did while helping someone whose number wasn't called (twice). just like everyone else, i have work, but in the Army you can only be gone for so long. So service here is bad (trash). read more

This place is hit or miss. On the phone I often feel like the folks are annoyed that I called. The last couple people who helped me though were awesome. In person I got someone pleasant. The guards are friendly and the place was clean. The main complaint I have is the heat and the smell. The waiting room is small. When it fills up it gets really hot. And like today, a warm day, it was pretty gross smelling. Something between a urinal cake and a port-a-potty. read more

I had read that some offices might be doing in person meetings by appointment. When I called to make an appointment I was told only non-citizens are allowed in person meetings, to make sure they can get any documents needed so they can't be picked up as an illegal. Citizens must use the online service or mail any original documents required. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO MAKE NON-CITIZENS A PRIORITY. WHO DO YOU THINK IS PAYING YOUR WAGES! read more

Of course with covid, like anything, there was less then perfect service! Although, i do expect to talk to someone when i do call. Which often times i did not. My husband called several times as well and emailed and got NO reply. We have sent in several appeals for a claim that was made while my husband was a minor. They also took our whole tax return which was $7111 and they only applied $3k on my account. So where did the rest of my money go? Not only have i not gotten answers when we were on the phone they were very rude to us and wouldn't explain anything. A lot of the reps even said "i don't know" when i asked them ANYTHING. I'm not paying $27,000 that someone else applied for when my husband was a minor now that he's 25. ESPECIALLY if they can't give me an answer! Plus we've asked for appointments and they denied us appointments. My appeals apparently never got to their office when i went to the office they wouldn't let me turn it in because i didn't have an appointment. The several i sent in the mail apparently never got there. And the ones i tried to file over the phone was denied because they wouldn't allow me to. I'm pissed at the lack of customer service or help. read more

Came in for a name change and to get social security card replacements. This was the absolute fastest service I've ever received! Highly recommend this office. We were in and out with two transactions in less than 45 minutes! read more

Security was great! But the representative helping us said "I don't have time! I don't care! I can't help you" After working service, I know to be patient with everyone but you never tell your clients what she said to us. Terrible treatment. Curious as to why we still fund people with no customer service skills read more

Obviously with corona going on service was moved to the phones. Spoke to a representative and her tone of voice was very snarky and inconsiderate. When I told her to stop being rude because obviously what I was calling for was important as it's literally crucial to fix she told me "to hold my horses". And refused to transfer me or put me on hold so that I may speak to someone else. You would think if someone is possibly reporting some type of social security fraud the workers they hire would be at least a little more considerate. I hate that a lot of important information is in the hands of people with poor morals and manners. read more

I spent two hours waiting in a very crowded room and when I finally got to talk with someone she was extremely rude and condescending. Now I know why they have so much security and bullet proof glass! read more

Great place to people watch. It wasn't a long wait only 1 1/2 hr. Service was great. Highlight during the wait was watching people get impatient and try to get as much ticket to see which number will get called. read more

I was reinstating my Medicare after leaving my job. I submitted the paper work to the Tacoma Office-per instructions from the office in Maryland. I received a phone call from the Tacoma office and the women told me that I did not qualify for SEP (special enrollment Period). Call Regional office in San Diego and was told that of course I qualify-just take all my paperwork to Tacoma office. Show additional info from former employer and I will be good to go. Different person in Tacoma office comes up with same result after conversation with first lady. My Insurance broker made some calls to people in the know and I was instructed to go to Puyallup or Kent Wa Office. I was in and out of the Puyallup office in a half an hour with the approval. The Tacoma office did not read any of my paperwork and processed my claim incorrectly. Don't go to Tacoma office on So 47th St. I am sure that their are some good employees in the office, but I never met them. read more

I not sure why everyone has hated on this particular Social Security office. Yes, it's a government agency that we all hate going to. This location was clean and didn't smell like spoiled milk or disinfectant that so many Social Security offices waft of. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and I was only there for about 30 minutes. I needed to get a replacement card, so very low difficulty level involved. They provided the form I needed at the front of the waiting area; I tried printing it off the website at home, but my printer ran out of ink in the middle of the job. It is hard to tell from the road that the building is a Social Security office. You do have to park on the side of the building and walk around, which seems pretty cumbersome for folks with disabilities. It is a small parking lot, but I had no issues getting in or out of it with my vehicle. There is a bus stop right in front of the building and it has a nice flat walk way with wide door openings and hallways. read more

We had an appointment, and only had to wait a few minutes. Our interviewer was polite and treated us with respect. I don't think we could ask for any better treatment. Five Star!!! read more

I can't really complain! yes there is a wait but that's with any government agency you got to. I was seen by Grace and she's great! She's very nice and professional and habla español! Also the guards are very nice and helpful. I really appreciate all of their help! read more

Hope no one has to deal with Molly Burns, she is the worse, she doesn't get her work done. I went in and said she was my case worker and they would give her the paperwork. I asked how long should it take they said the most 2 days they were going to put it on her desk right now. well 3 weeks later nothing. called her 5 times now , she doesn't return your phone calls, why do they allow people like her to be in customer service. She is the worse read more

It is a government facility. The wait is long. Though, I lucked out and it only took me an hour. But the people were friendly, the people-watching was amazing. The biggest downfall was that you cannot bring an open drink container into the waiting area. It exceeded my expectations. read more
