Mrs Vu was very disrespectful, unhelpful and rude. I asked to speak to a manager who never showed up. This place sucks.

"Well, here's your hat, what's your hurry? All right, Mother, old Building and Loan pal, I think…read moreI'll go out and find a girl and do a little passionate necking." - It's a Wonderful Life, 1946 The City (really a big town) of Burien, is a suburban area in King County, Washington State, located just south of Seattle on lovely Puget Sound. I call it a big town because although it has recently seen a boom in population it still maintains a small town charm about it. My connection to Burien runs deep because my parents moved here after retirement to help my sister raise her own children. You know the drill. I later acquired a cottage on the property of my parents. Charming cottage dating to around the 1940's. It included the original fireplace where I could burn logs, a shed to carry my required "man" tools & any lumberjack needs like a saw, two-handed axe, and shovel. Not much flowers, tho I had lots of trees just in case I needed to hibernate like a bear. Also included, free of charge, an old tree stump that the neighborhood cat (Milly) called her own... Oh, & the snow!! Did I mention the snow? I still remember it like yesterday the winter a few years back when I decided to take an extended vacation at my cottage in Burien, Washington. It just so happened to be the coldest winter in like a century when I arrived, a guy raised in sunny Hawaii & most of my adulthood in Cali. In fact, I recall that Thanksgiving we were all "iced-in" brr, not "snowed-in" but "iced-in" per our local Emergency Brrroadcast System. After the ice storm it snowed, and snowed, and snowed some more, I mean even "Bumble" the Abominable Snowman would pout. It snowed everyday from November until March and by the time it ended I felt like I needed to be microwaved just to make sure I was still a mammal! Yet, with all the ice & snow... It was perhaps one of my most memorable winters I can remember. Yes, I was freezing my warm weather arse off, but I also experienced something out of my norm, 6-degrees Fahrenheit ain't norm, son lol, and sometimes thinking (or being) out of the box allows you to reflect back on your life. And with all the snow I had plenty to zen about *sighs*. Then I remember the holidays with my parents living next door. At times I felt like I was living in a Norman Rockwell painting! During that winter I did manage to explore the town of Burien, the old & the new. I found the new Burien library to be welcoming and a safe place to get out of the cold... I found the Burien Fred Meyer a great source for all my Paul Bunyan needs - who would have known I'd get excited when the pseudo 12-hours logs went on sale! I found the Burien Trader Joe's a gem during Christmas time. I found the Burien Dollar Tree a lifesaver for things I'd never thought they'd have or things I ever needed:3. My favorite Burien restaurant is Elliot Bay Brewhouse & Pub. My favorite Burien bakery is the Australian Pie Company. I especially enjoyed my walks in the snow in "Olde town" Burien.. I emphasize it was like living in a Norman Rockwell Painting, well maybe with a tad "Ralphie" from a Christmas Story wishing for a Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle. Oooooooh! Nah. I'll shoot my eye... In conclusion, living in The City of Burien (really a big town) was far from perfection, but it was meant to be at that moment in time. Heck no, I can't live in that snow year after year... I'd die lol, and yes, I'm ignoring the hobos that roam the public library. Yet, many families spanning generations call Burien home & this alone says a lot. Gee whiz, maybe I am sugar-coating my Burien Norman Rockwell Painting life a wee bit, but for me... it's a Wonderful Life... The End.

The only good things are the black guy who brings the dogs treats and friendly dogs!…read more I take my dog to Burien off leash dog park and it's pretty frustrating, as a disabled person, to see the girl, who works for the city, in dreads park in the only disability parking spot to pick up the garbage. Then instead of moving her truck to clear the other 3 cans she stays parked in the disabled spot and WALKS across the park slowly collecting garbage. No consideration what so ever!! Today is fairly infuriating! As we sit at the park, I see and hear workers working on the park, but you have the dread girl and her 3 coworkers chit chatting at their rigs doing no real work! Thanks to the people who actually put in the work to keep this park pleasant and safe!

VERY CLEAN MODERN LIBRARY…read more The library is part of the King County Library system and is located in the Burian City Hall mixed use structure which was built in 2009 and so it is a fairly new space. It also houses the City Council meeting room, which is currently being used for storage as the council has been meeting on-line since Covid. The library has many computers for members to use for job searches, email etc. You can also print stuff if you need to. When I was there I only saw a couple of people using the PCs out what must have been about 30 of them? The space is very bright with lots of natural light coming in through the windows. It has two floors and has an enclosed "Study Room" on the second floor, but really there are many places to sit, and of course, the library is very, very quiet. The first floor has a very nice children's section with small stools and tables suitable for kids. There are a variety of DVDs and CDs to borrow and of course an assortment of books, as well a large section devoted to Washington State and Seattle history! One of my favorite features is the Newspaper Magazine section. Just grab today's paper, or your favorite magazine and read all you want in a comfortable lounge like environment. No need to buy or borrow as long as you are inside the library. BTW, if you enjoyed my review or found it useful funny or cool, please don't hesitate to click the little button to say so, or better yet, go ahead and friend me. So go on! Press that button, and never miss a single one of my epic reviews in the Seattle area and beyond. Excelsior!

I'm not a fan of this post office off the two experiences I've had…read more The first time I had to come staff weren't very friendly. I had a notice in my mailbox that it was too full so I had to pick up from the post office. My issue and concern with them was that I've been at this address for 3 years and yet somehow 90% of my mail is addressed too 10 DIFFERENT people. I explained that I'm the only person at this address and that I need them to STOP delivering other peoples mail to my box so I don't have this issue in the future.. The lady at the desk said there isn't much they can do That was infuriating. (I try to maintain most of my mail as paperless, to prevent needless papers. So to have a 'Full' mailbox and it's not even my mail is ridiculous. **NOTE The name plate in my mailbox is ONLY my name so it's honestly ridiculous.) The second issue I've ran into, they couldn't deliver a package to my door step on a SUNDAY. Since when do they deliver or are they even open on sundays. Today is Monday March 23rd and I received a message from Amazon saying USPS attempted to deliver my package on March 22nd (Sunday) but they couldn't access Drive way or Door. I was home the whole day and didn't hear anyone. However, what's concerning is that in my 3 years of living there USPS has NEVER delivered to my front door it's always been to the leasing office. So, I contacted USPS, they also said it was weird and provided me with the locations direct number and said I should speak with the supervisor. Yeah... I've attempted to call the location 4x throughout the span of 2hrs and the phone just rings or they've hung up. I see why they have 2.5 stars. So, now I'll have to drive there and stand in the ridiculous line they ALWAYS have to simply speak with someone because they refrain from answering. Again since when do they deliver on Sundays, and then calling the location to not get a response is utterly ANNOYING. So now I have to go in to simply ask what happened because my package not only WASNT delivered, but the attempt was made on a SUNDAY, and not dropped off at the leasing office PER USUAL.

The last time was just a couple days ago after finishing a most satisfying 4-day Laugavegur trail, followed by a pleasant side trip to Stykkishólmur and the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. This latest experience was smooth, with no issues. This was similar to previous experiences. I also easily finished my Global Entry Interview while I was here. The only confusion was trying to figure out where to go for my connecting flight after I was finished. Taking the train to the main terminal was easy enough, but from there required airport "Spidey sense" to not only find the Security Line, but the one that takes TSA Pre. Gayle and I did have an interesting "incident" here several years ago as we returned from Iceland. It was the Christmas Season and we had received our Iceland "Yule Lads" present on our door at our Reykjavik Hotel. That consisted of a Washington State apple, that we simply packed away without any additional thought. Fast forward to US Customs where the Beagle sniffed out our USA fruit, which necessitated a full search or our baggage. Those Yule Lads certainly had the last laugh.

If you're stuck, keep your evidence simple and explanations even simpler. Also, don't dress too nice and act a little like you're simple with a sprinkle of victimhood. .She's easily overwhelmed and will ignore many of the facts, and seems to have a chip on her shoulder towards well-dressed, well-mannered, and eloquent people. Detail: This is belated by a little over a year but my small claims case was heard by Judge Laurel Gibson. Like many in this series, I too was floored by the lack of competence and professionalism and display of smugness. I've won and lost small claims cases before and accepted the results as fair but this loss was bizarre. In short, a property manager misrepresented a rental I virtually toured and signed the lease. Upon move-in, the rental had mildew, mold, and mustiness throughout and even on the drywall. I hired an environmental consultant to take samples and he generated a report that supported elevated levels of mold that required remediation, which the manager refused to perform. My wife also produced a doctor's note supporting her allergic reactions to mold. I broke the lease and later pursued legal action. Despite evidence of the environmental and doctor reports, a detailed and supported accounting of losses incurred, photographs, and my willingness to previously negotiate a lower settlement with the manager, Judge Gibson's basis for dismissing my case (with prejudice too, which seemed excessive, so that I couldn't appeal) was that I didn't call the county health inspector to deem the rental condemnable. She also made it a point to put us down by saying such conditions are normal in the PNW and that my wife is too sensitive, to which I told her our new rental has zero presence of such conditions to which she had no response and reminded her that her doctor made the determination of how "sensitive" she is. The defendant, property manager, came in poorly dressed with almost no counter-evidence. His wife, who was not sworn in, disrupted while my wife was talking to hand evidence to the judge that was not previously shared with us beforehand. I called it out but the judge allowed it. Contrast to me in a suit, well organized, and respectful of the court.
