The trees are super fresh, the people there are very nice and courteous​ and the prices are good. We selected our tree and a garland, went into the little greenhouse to pay, and they cut the tree and put everything in/on our car - fast and secure all while they're having a good time joking with customers. I liked that they also offer free hot chocolate & coffee and that you could easily look through the trees that were sorted by type (noble fir, ...). I would definitely come back next Christmas to get a tree! (Ours is still up and looking great on January 3rd, after weeks of being in our living room!) I think it's important to give back to the community and if it's that easy and pleasant - count me in! I'm also curious to see what else they do at the centro during the year.

Between 11:00 and 1:00 the pool is practically empty. These summer months bring in alot of needed income to the J with the massive swim lessons they have and swimming is very difficult for me to get a lane a few hours a week! Last summer they tried hard to slip in random lanes frequently, but this summer has been harder. The lap lanes offered are very early or dinner hour-as a senior these times are impossible for me. The locker rooms were re-done and very nice - always clean-lockers large. The desk people LOVELY- and I always feel welcomed there-its inviting.

The center is situated at the edge of the New Holly neighborhood, which primarily consists of housing, but also includes a branch of Seattle Public Library, satellite campus of South Seattle Community College, and other community buildings. The newly renovated and facility re-opened in 2007, more than doubling the size of the old center. The building features lots of windows in the lobby area and multipurpose room. Included in the expansion are new staff offices, interior and exterior public restrooms, activity rooms, and a large dividable multipurpose room with a small adjoining commercial kitchen. The center is surrounded by a landscaped lawn with lots of trees and flowers, a public art installation outside the front entrance, two basketball courts sponsored by the Sonics/Storm Team Foundation, a wading pool, children's play area, a covered picnic area and BBQ grill. The expanded center accommodates activities such as teen programs, classes, after-school programs, community meetings, weddings and seniors programs, a drop-in fitness room, basketball/sports gym, after-school child care, summer day camps and free WiFi access. Also they have outdoor fitness equipment.

I've taken her to Queen Anne Community Center, Jeferson Community Center and she's been here several times and Trina threatened to have me escorted by the police. The building itself is pretty spacious, but you can tell some of the facilities are on the older side. The restroom was out of order during my visit, and overall the space felt a little dated. What really stood out, though, was the staff. I watched three different librarians patiently help someone with a computer issue for almost an hour, which honestly says a lot about how dedicated and kind they are. Even with the older interior, the service here makes this library a solid community spot.

The space is definitely on the smaller side compared to some libraries I've been to out of state, but I really liked the aesthetic and general atmosphere--it felt calm and inviting. One of the biggest positives for me was how quiet it was. I spent about 1-2 hours reading a thick graphic novel, and it was genuinely peaceful. Even the kids were surprisingly quiet! Mindfulness from patrons with maintaining low volume is a huge factor for me when it comes to enjoying a library. I was a little disappointed with the size of the graphic novel section though. It's one of my favorite areas to browse since I can usually finish something in one sitting, so I wish there had been more variety. I would've loved to stay longer and explore some genre fiction, but I don't live nearby, so getting a library card didn't really make sense for me this time. I didn't interact much with the staff--there didn't seem to be many around, and one employee I noticed appeared to be on their phone--but it didn't impact my visit too much since I mostly kept to myself. They do offer useful amenities like computers, printers, and copiers (though I didn't use them), and there's plenty of seating along with outlets for charging devices, which is always useful for those needing to utilize their laptops or phones. There are restrooms available, but you do need an employee to buzz you in. At first I thought you had to turn the handle, but it actually opens by pushing the door once they unlock it. The restrooms themselves were a bit disappointing--they weren't the cleanest and didn't have seat covers. That's honestly one of the main reasons I'm giving this place 4 stars, since I feel like the restrooms could definitely be better maintained. Parking also seems like it could be an issue. The lot is pretty small--maybe around 15-18 spots--and since there's no street parking, I can see it being difficult to find a space when it's busy. I happened to visit on a rainy day, so I got lucky. There's also a nice little park outside that I didn't get to enjoy because of the weather. Overall, a quiet, cozy spot to read and unwind, with a few minor drawbacks. I'd definitely come back if I were in the area again.

The wait time here is insane, I had a 12:00 p.m. appointment, I arrived 15 minutes early but had to…read moreline up outside the building and then later again inside the building. It was only until 2:45 that I finally got to see the officer. The officer was very efficient and I was out after 5 minutes but the wait time was way too long. I highly recommend you bring a book. Vending machine only take dollar bills so if you want to buy some food remember to bring cash in dollar bills.
