Overall, it's a solid spot for enjoying events in a laid-back, intimate setting.

I can tell you first hand after driving around seeing nice homes, new apartments, newer strip mall center, great looking schools. My first was AM I MISSING SOMETHING ? The only thing bad that I can say is the planning dept knew the state was going to be buying our land and the new home we were building and took our money for paving a dirt road! 2 weeks before moving in we got a letter from the state saying they needed to buy our property we hadn't even moved into yet. The county knew as well and still gave us permits. Long story short we have purchased another home in Milton and plan to stay the rest of our lives.

But the past few times, my experience here has been extremely poor. The staff is great, but the parents who bring smaller kids to this library doesn't enforce proper library etiquette. Every time I have come here over the past 6 months, there were screaming kids, unattended kids running around making a lot of noise. These parents have to teach the kids the library is meant for quiet learning and reading and should not create distractions to others. I wish the staff spoke up to the parents who are letting these practices happen. The nearby libraries like Covington, Maple Valley ones are extremely good in managing the noise.

What a beautiful library!…read more I'm not on Vashon too regularly, but I was here for CiderFest across from the library. There was story time at the library so we checked it out and it's such a nice library! Some reviews mention that it's on the smaller side, but for Vashon it's fitting. It's super nice, and the kid's area is adorable. Tons of books for them to choose from, small tables and chairs, and a few toys here and there. I also love how bright this library is. Tons of ceiling to floor windows make it really airy and light. In the kid's area you can see a really nice playground that's a short walk from the library which my kids were dying to go play at (be warned!) All in all a great little library.
