The trail (non-paved) to the beach is moderately steep. Loose gravel in some points so be careful. It's pretty narrow too. The paved walkway backup is also steep and will get the cardio going. Along the trail are many picnic tables to sit, eat a snack, take some pics, and catch your breath. Only downside is parking is limited. Go early if you can. Overall highly recommend.

I will say that the parking lot is rather small and it can be very challenging to find any parking during the summer. When I arrived on this particular day, there was literally a line out to the road with vehicles trying to find parking. It can get pretty cut throat, too. The park itself is generously sized, in the splash pad has a lot of unique features that my kids really enjoyed. My favorite part is that they had features for small children as well as larger children. Usually when I go to other splash pads it smells funky or like chlorine. But this location smelled fresh and seemed to have been upkept recently. Western Washington is a notorious area for high amounts of trafficking, so I always have to keep an eye out wherever we go. But thankfully, this area seemed pretty safe so we will definitely be back next summer for more playtime.

You will be able to see the signage which reflects what's available: -Elda's paradise garden -Seiki Japanese garden -Rose garden -Daylily garden -Fuchia garden -Iris garden -Community garden The Japanese garden is magical. It is clean and very well maintained. There are some benches available to sit, relax and enjoy. A fried told me about this place as I was gearing up to conquer Stairway to Heaven. When I got…read morehere, I found a small park with a short trail leading to the stairs. The stairs are well maintained, cross back and forth with a few landings to rest or let people pass. At the base of the stairs, it turns into its former self, old broken down cement/wood steps that reach the beach. There's a sign warning you, so it's quite obvious. There's also a bench in the middle of the staircase for those who get winded easily. I recall there's a little over 100 stairs. It's quite easy for beginners, children and pets. The park faces the west and has a peak-a-boo view of the sunset at one of the landings. When you're done, walk up the trail and look for a clear area and benches. If you are lucky, you may see the eagles soaring above the trees next to their nests. Parking: very few spots, like 4 or 5, so get prepared to park out in the residential area and walk a little.

The first 10 minutes or so of the hike is dirt trail. Then you get to the stairs, walk down and you'll find that there's not much at the bottom. Just a small beach covered in broken logs and plants that jut out towards the water. There is a small clearing beyond the stairs which offers somewhat of a view looking out at the sound. then when you look behind, towards the hill, you'll notice some idiot who posted a wooden sign that says "private property" seriously!? there's nothing private about it, not to mention there's nothing there. people can be so greedy sometimes... Anyways, this is a cool spot to come to if you want to do some laps up and down the stairs. Though it's not much of a date spot if you want to bring your significant other. Try some other parks in that case.

The play…read morestructures were big and had a large variety of things, slides, climbing, spinning, ropes, etc. The one for the slightly older kids with the steepest slides had beans puke all over it (not sure how long it had been there), which was super gross, but the park service truck came while we were there and power hosed the thing down. Our toddlers had a great time climbing on the blocks, enjoying the slightly shorter and less steep toddler friendly slides, and the bucket swings.

Fairly large wooded area with a few little trails. This park is not that great and you shouldn't take the time to travel here, but it's a-okay if you're already in the area. There have been a few times I've felt unsafe in the wooded areas, so definitely pay attention to your surroundings! This park also has tennis courts and a basketball court which are fairly well maintained and there are bathrooms available for use (during the warmer months).
