I never stepped foot in to any library for years, the last time was when my big kids elementary school days, I would take them for the Summer Reading Program but the library ( Oahu) is nothing like this library. I would visit more often if I lived/moved here. I am so amazed, with just a quick walk around the library, so nice, clean, organized, high tech, modern. There is even a security guard at front too. The tax dollars sure is put to good use here! Wait a minute, The library opens on Sunday, that is awesome! I love the section with all the info. for resources, so helpful! The desk has outlet for charging your devices. Some of the amenities this library offer includes, public computers, free Wifi, meeting, study rooms, workspaces, reading area, besides borrowing books. I saw an event going on in the children's section during my visit. There's a canopied stone entry plaza and bicycle rack. I don't know what happen to my library card or even my kids, but after visiting, I really need to consider visiting any library more often. Yep. Reading enriches the mind!

Plexiglass barriers are up in the Lobby of Beacon Hill. They used to open the restrooms before last yr. during bus. Hrs. But recently they have completely closed them. Maybe someone made a big mess, I'm guessing. I go to the restroom often and drive for Postmates. So I really need access to Public restrooms. Last yr, many restaurants closed off their restroom to Delivery Drivers. It was extremely bad for me trying to work at night when grocery stores closed early. But that's another story. Kudos to the young gal with the scarf on who came out to give me revised printouts I sent to their printer 5:58 pm. By the time. I tried to go back to their Lobby, it was closed. I sat in the car , and she saw me. Previously, 10 mins earlier I got print out but the Documents from my email link came out very tiny print. I have senior eyesight, wearing a multi-focal contact. So no way I could read it. I told her can't they enlarge the PDF. She said No. I said I needed them for a job tomorrow. I do mystery shopping once in awhile. It does not pay well. My job tomorrow will pay only $15. But it's a easy Parking Audit shop.

It's a government office, but they are reasonable and very helpful. There were a couple of errors on my application, but the staff helped me correct them right there. So, I was able to turn in my application without any errors and without any delay. Also, it only took 5 business days. I'm comparing this experience with the time when I renewed my son's US passport. I was turned away three times! They found one (and only one) error each time! Went to pick up my visa, unfortunately they were on their lunch break when I got there . It only took less than 5 minutes. Very efficient and friendly. I believe their lunch break starts at 11:30am.

Horrific treatment!!! Front desk person was so unfriendly. I…read morewalked in with food and drinks in a bag, went to the rest room and when I walked out she was right there "Do not go into the gym with food or drinks". I wasn't even near the gym but okay she was just letting me know the rules....I guess. Then the same person told my 7 year old "Do not play near the vending machines" . Well ,okay I mean, what kids aren't fascinated with this amazing machines! Someone stood guard at the gym door checking for food and drinks. I just saw the parents turn back saying "oh, I'm so sorry about that" with their coffee contraband in the hands. The ref that day yelled at the players constantly throughout the game. Absolutely terrible, aggressive and abusive of power. The kids looked shocked. Then they told my son who was PLAYING IN THE GAME that he couldn't drink sparkling water ( I guess regular water was fine?). Wow. I get that we are not from High Point. We have an all white team on both sides from the other side of Seattle. I worked in High Point for years with this community and loved it. I was talking up High Point for days before we got there. It was so sad, c'mon guys we are all humans! Seeing this made my heart hurt. But don't worry, I remained composed and polite.

I always feel like I'm in an oasis whenever I walk past or go inside. Unfortunately, can't give it 5 stars. Young children love to come here to play Roblox and other online computer games, and they are very excitable and kinda disruptive. It's a small place, so there's nowhere to go to get out of earshot. Not cool having to use headphones to drone out the 10 year olds cussing at each other. The librarians will frequently come over and ask them to settle down, but the quiet usually doesn't last long. But they allow the kids to stay, which I strongly agree with, so the problem seems somewhat intractable for now. All that said, I'm still probably here like 10-15 hours a week regularly during school, and I love it. Fantastic place to study and vibe, catch up on the news.

The center is situated at the edge of the New Holly neighborhood, which primarily consists of housing, but also includes a branch of Seattle Public Library, satellite campus of South Seattle Community College, and other community buildings. The newly renovated and facility re-opened in 2007, more than doubling the size of the old center. The building features lots of windows in the lobby area and multipurpose room. Included in the expansion are new staff offices, interior and exterior public restrooms, activity rooms, and a large dividable multipurpose room with a small adjoining commercial kitchen. The center is surrounded by a landscaped lawn with lots of trees and flowers, a public art installation outside the front entrance, two basketball courts sponsored by the Sonics/Storm Team Foundation, a wading pool, children's play area, a covered picnic area and BBQ grill. The expanded center accommodates activities such as teen programs, classes, after-school programs, community meetings, weddings and seniors programs, a drop-in fitness room, basketball/sports gym, after-school child care, summer day camps and free WiFi access.
