This was our second time here. The first was with an organized event. It was fine-ish then. This time we went because some friends had a great experience a week ago. Our group of 7 boated there on Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
We sat down and ordered drinks. Those turned out moderately OK. Our server seemed like she didn't care about much. She certainly didn't care about service or our table. The two things that our friends ordered (that was part of their good experience a week prior) were unavailable or sold out. Okay, that happens. When ordering my meal, our server said "I'm not sure we have those". She had no idea if it was available and shrugged her shoulders. We wanted her to double check before placing our whole order. With all of the lack of availability, we were already contemplating leaving...except that we were starving from a long day on the water. She came back to confirm that my meal was available. Things seemed to be looking up. We placed our order.
Our server came back, stared at us blankly, and told us that the kitchen was shutting down. "Ooookay, what does that MEAN?", we asked. She said "it means that it's shutting down". Still not understanding, we looked for clarification. We were eventually able to get a timeframe out of her. In answer to our questions, she told us that it would be on hold for 20 minutes. "We're busy! There are a lot of people outside!" That was her explanation, as if this was a common occurrence. Also, she couldn't confirm that it would only be 20 minutes. That was about all we needed to hear. We asked for the check for the drinks we ordered and planned to leave. After rolling her eyes at us, she did come back with the check. We paid the tab and left...we also don't plan to go back. read more
