Pier 49 is decent. I wish I could give 3.5 stars. The restaurant interior and decor is outdated and a little rundown. The menu is plastered over the wall in a huge format - like a giant poster. The service was decent. We got the nob hill and chicken bacon ranch. We started with the house salad which was fresh and tasty. The cheesesticks were alright. They needed more cheese and I think if they added some garlic powder and oregano, it would bring them up a notch and create better flavor. I also wish the dipping sauce (marinara), was hot and not cold from the fridge. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was by far superior over the nob hill pizza. There was more flavor and it just tasted better. The nob hill was lacking flavor and also needed garlic or something to make it better. Both pizzas were covered in tomato. I wish they cooked the tomato instead of throwing on too much raw tomatoes. I would come back maybe once a year but there are better options for pizza around. read more

Ordered pizza. They said it was read for pickup. I waited an hour after ordering and 45 minutes after they said it was ready. It doesn't take an hour to make 2 pizzas. read more

We showed up, the woman working at the register was just standing there looking down at her screen typing. We waited to be respectful if she was in the middle of something. Finally after 3 mins she looks up and says what do you need. We tell her we have an online order ( we had ordered 25 mins ago and came at the time it said it was done) and she says it's just being cut. We sit down and 5-10 mins later, nothing. We then stand at the resister again, and she walks by and ignores us. Finally, the guy cooking the pizzas came up after another 5 mins. He was nice and grabbed them saying they were right there done. The woman was extremely rude and her customer service was terrible. The fact we had to wait until the cook came up too says a lot. read more

I like love pier 49. They have deals for lunch which makes it quick and easy. An all you can eat option as well Also when wanting a sort of dinner I always get The Tourist. It's decorated like a pier and there are two TVs with games. I highly suggest trying it! read more

This is a 2.5 star review. So here's the deal - the food is good. We have been 3 times over the past 3 months because the pizza is good. The cheesy breadsticks are crave worthy. What isn't great is the service. Tonight was not the worst service we have had but it wasn't great. The last time we were in, the order taker told us to hold on a second so she could respond to something on her cell phone and then angrily hit buttons on it while mumbling to herself, then our breadsticks were literally tossed onto our table with zero communication or response to my automatic "thank you" (different employee). It did not get any better from there and by the time we left, it was to the point that we were laughing and waiting to see what would happen next. Tonight, they were obviously under staffed and I will say this, the young kids were really trying but a bunch of tables were unbussed and stayed that way the whole time we were in. The dining room was freezing, almost like the heat wasn't on. Quite a few customers were angry about their orders taking way too long and coming out piecemeal or incorrect. We ordered cheesy breadsticks, and 3 personal pizzas (Cable Car, Treasure Island, 49er). Our pizzas came out 2 at one time and then the third a few minutes later. Our breadsticks came out when we ready to leave even though I inquired about them when we got our pizzas. We ordered for dine in and got one of our pizzas on a plate. Everything else came in to-go boxes. We assumed they ran out of clean plates. I honestly felt sorry for the kids trying to run the place, but poor service and maybe lack of management seems to be the pattern at this location. Bottom line, we are going to look for a different location in the future, because the pizza is worth the drive. read more

The pizzas and salads and cleanliness is usually on point but I got a salad with my pizza today that was disgusting. I will enclose a picture. You decide. I tried picking through it but , couldn't get more than a few bites. Yuck. read more

I've always loved Pier 49 specialty pizzas. They are on the more expensive side so we usually reserve them for special occasions. I don't usually dine in so I can't speak for the ambience. I always get takeout service is spotty. read more

This particular location was always so kind and loving to my in-laws. They would make a point to stop in every Tuesday (double stamp day). The employees recognized them enough where they started preparing their order before they approached the counter. Thank you for such kindness. read more

Overall the pizza is pretty tasty, the crust has the perfect texture. Veggies are all super fresh We had the golden gate with Alfredo which was delicious but missing something.. maybe salt or even a garlic butter on the crust. The texture was amazing but missing something for taste. Our youngest had a personal cheese which was very tasty and the red sauce was unique and sweet. We look forward to ordering from here again. read more

Delicious pizza! Wings were ok, not great because they weren't spicy, but still had ok flavor. Overall pretty good place!

We really enjoyed the pizza! We got the meaty with peppers and onions and the crust was wonderful! Where they lost stars was their drink selection. They don't offer anything less than a two liter and so we agreed on root beer which they sell Pepsi products we were wanting coke products so we switched to lemonade and on the app they lost lemonade but when you arrive to the store they hand you pink lemonade which can cause confusion and disappointment. I did not end up getting a drink and despite it being a smooth transaction and delicious pizza I still am not looking forward to going because of the drink selection. read more

We love this pizza place...so many variations to choose from. All delicious. Wed enjoy the appetizer's too. The employees are young but very accommodating and friendly. We usually drop in just before a movie and it's not too crowded so we always get wonderful service. My husband LOVES this pizza. We will be back soon. read more

Just okay. I'm not from Utah and would suspect there are better pizza places... honestly have had Pizza Hut that's better. The crust was pretty good. I would ask to have it cooked extra long. Good pepperoni. We ordered the 49-er, Alfredo spinach and cheese sticks. Solid 3. read more

We ordered four pizzas, meat lovers, cheese, pepperoni and the one with 3 slices of four different kind. Nothing stood out here I had high hopes but it was slightly better then frozen pizza. One star for the food nothing wrong with the service here the kids did alright. Still looking for our goto pizza spot in Utah. read more

As we are trying to support various restaurants during this time, we tried this for the first time. The pizza was expensive and honestly very disappointing. The marinara sauce on the pizza is the worst sauce I have ever tasted. (and I have eaten at a lot of pizza places, worked at pizza places in the past, and know how to make my own pizza from scratch.) It had WAY too much sugar in it making it sickeningly sweet. The crust also still tasted like it had too much sugar in it. I did like the yeastiness of it and the thickness of the crust. It did not taste anything like sourdough to me. The pizza seemed slightly undercooked because the cheese and toppings came off and fell all over the place while trying to eat it. As this was our first time, I don't know if this was a fluke, or just this location, or just a circumstance of the current conditions. Having terrible sauce is an unforgivable sin in my opinion when it comes to pizza. Because of this, we'll be unlikely to ever try this again. Try Firebird Pizza in Pleasant Grove; it's much better. read more

I'm not super impressed with this location. We ordered and sat down. There was no one else in the restaurant. 20 minutes later they handed our pizza to the wrong table. We noticed right away. They informed us that it had to be remade and baked. Why did they not confirm with the table that was what they ordered before placing it in front of them? We had 3 hungry, roudy kids and when we complained they offered us mints. Their customer service is lacking. The three stars are for the pizza because although we waited forever for it it was delicious. read more

I went in and ordered a large pizza with their breadsticks. I waited over 45 minutes for my food. I watched the people that ordered before me and after me get their pizza and finished eating before my food came out. And to top it all off, the pizza wasn't even hot. It felt like the pizza had been sitting. Usually I have had great experiences with this place. This was extremely disappointing. read more

Pretty good pizza place! We really liked the $5 Tuesday special (personal one topping pizza and fountain drink for $5). Without that, it would have been really expensive. The crust was probably the best part of the pizza. read more

We went to Pier 49 Pizza about 2 weeks ago and loved it! Some of the best pizza we have had in a while. The crust is so tasty. We loved that you can do a combinations of 3 or 4 flavors. Pier 49 is the best pizza in the country. Yes I know that's a bold statement, but it is seriously so unique and so delicious that it just can't be beat. I've been all over the country and always search out any sourdough pizza places. They are pretty much non-existent except on the west coast. The best pizza is the Ghiradelle with white sauce -- so amazing. This location is usually pretty fast and there aren't usually any lines. It's a little pricey but totally worth it. read more

Excellent pizza and cheesy breadsticks. The salad is wonderful. The ranch dressing is the best around.

I enjoyed Pier 49 at different location with my friends in high school way back when, so I thought I would give them a try as an adult. But my experience at the AF location this week doesn't make me want to go back. We had a couple of gift certificates from Restaurant.com in our hand when we went up to order, and the first thing the gal at the till said was, "You can only use one of those. It says right on it." Not "Welcome to Pier 49," not "How can I help you today," just an immediate shut-down. I cheerfully said, "Okay, we'll use this one" and tried to order one of their regular over-priced pizzas along with their special "thin crust pepperoni for $0.99." Ms. Grumpy informed me that I couldn't combine offers like that, so I just got the regular pizza. She made me feel like a criminal who was trying to rip her off, not like a valued customer. I understand that these gift certificates are a loss-leader for the restaurants, just to get people in the door. But I've never seen such hostility toward their use at any other restaurant. Employees have to understand that consumers see Restaurant.com gift certificates as a method of payment, not as a coupon: they shouldn't affect the rest of what you're able to order, they should just take the dollar amount of the certificate off the bottom line of your bill. When our pizza came, it was pretty good toppings-wise, but I really disliked the crust/dough. It was very bland. The cheesy bread sticks that we ordered were also really flavorless. I like Papa Murphy's, Pizza Pie Cafe, Tenney's, and even Little Caesar's better than this stuff. read more

The pizza is tasty and the crust is delicious. The people were nice. The wait was rough. We ordered 3 pizzas, and after a long wait they brought out two, apologized for the wait, and said the third would be right out. 15 minutes later, the third pizza arrived. And we saw a worker take a piece of meat off the third pizza and eat it before serving it to us. Not a big deal, but if you're going to do that don't do it where we can see you! read more

Wow! I love this place! One of the few places around American Fork where you can get a quality pizza that doesn't taste like all the chain pizzarias. Last night really burst my bubble though. I called Pier 49 Pizza at 6:45pm on New Year's Eve to order about $200 in pizzas, bread and salad. Keep in mind, I've owned a pizza joint and I know that New Year's Eve is among the busiest and most important nights in the pizza biz. When I called I was expecting to be told there would be a long wait time or that their delivery drivers would be so bogged down that I would need to come pick it up. Instead what I was told was that they were closed for the evening. WHAT?! What in Sam Hell is going on there?! Who the heck is running that place?! Who in their right mind would close a pizza joint on a New Year's Eve?! I inquired if I had heard right, "You're closed?" The reply, "Yes, so the employees can be with their families." Yeah. That's what's happening. All those 18 and 19 year old kids are hanging out with their families. No manager or owner in their right mind truly believes that. This is just lazy business management. To add insult to injury, when I asked if they were really closing (because I still thought this had to be a joke) the punk hung up on me! I seriously couldn't believe it. How would anyone sabotage their own business this way? I have to believe the owner isn't that stupid. I hope for the owner's sake that this was the result of an inexperienced and idiotic business manager who made a decision without the knowing of the owner. If this is not the case, the owner needs to find a new line of work because business failure is right around the corner. I shouldn't be so surprised. I remember the day not to long ago when Pier 49 had packed dining rooms and long lines to order. We went there the other night before a movie and the place was a ghost town. Furthermore, the lady at the register (I believe she may have been the inept manager) was less than cordial and didn't make me feel like I needed to return. Sad really because the pizza is tasty. Still, I don't know if I will be back. Still haven't determined that yet. read more

Not impressed with the "awesome new owners" which the storefront banner heralds. Our 6-year-old son loves the cinnamon pizza at Pier 49, so when we asked him where he wanted to eat for his birthday dinner, he picked Pier 49. Having a large extended family, we had more than a dozen relatives who drove in from Provo and Murray to meet us for dinner at the Pier 49 in American Fork. Imagine our embarrassment and frustration when we all arrived to find a sign in the door reading "Plan Ahead. We're closed on Labor Day." It's bad enough that the new owners decided to close shop on a holiday in which many people eat out. However, to make it seem like it was my fault that I couldn't eat there because I didn't "plan ahead" was outright infuriating. The traditional "Sorry we're closed" sign would have been much better received. Perhaps if the new restaurant owners wanted to not work on a holiday in which many dine out, they should have "planned ahead" by arranging for someone to run the store in their absence. read more

I used to really like Pier 49, so much that it was my #1 stop when I was younger. I went this location and got mediocre pizza at extremely high prices. The sauce was and crust were both blander than it used to be, but at least the pepperonit and the cheese were good as always. It doesn't look like there are many deals either. Having to shell out $15 for a large pepperoni when I could get something better at Domino's for half the price is a little much. It cost my wife and I $30 to eat here. I'd expect that if we got quality pizza, but we didn't. Maybe it's just this location, but if this is an indicator of the rest of the Pier 49s, then I don't think they'll be around much longer, not when there are so many other places to choose from. Sorry guys, you'll either need to step up the quality, lower your prices, or throw in the towel. read more

I have to say that the young people just do not get customer service or know how to smile. The prices were another OOPS! I can see why they had no customers. Just saying. Other than that the pizza was really good. Well made and fresh! I mean really it was that tasty! We had to have pepperoni and bread sticks. Just all around good food here. Just keep note its not cheap. We paid more here than at the movies with popcorn and drinks. I will come back again and again just not this month maybe when I get paid! read more
