This was my second time doing a tandem jump, and the first time for my wife. All I can say is it was absolutely awesome. The staff was great and very attentive from the moment you arrive to check in, to the moment you're back on the ground after your jump. Don't let the looks of the small operation fool you, you will not be disappointed. My first jump was at a much larger operation, and although i enjoyed it and i have nothing negative to say about them, i would much rather jump with Piedmont Skydiving. However, I do believe they are planning on expanding as they have out grown their current set up. As for my instructor, all I can say is Andrew was perfect, he deserves 5-Stars in a review by itself. He was very personable, articulate with instruction, and friendly. Since this was my second jump he took the time to talk to me about getting certified to jump myself, coached me on a few maneuvers, let me wear an altimeter, explained to me how to use it and what to do at certain altitudes during the jump, and even let me open the chute. Andrew then continued my impromptu lesson as we descended with more maneuvers, and instruction all the way back down until we were boots on the ground. I would absolutely jump at Piedmont Skydiving again, and hope to get certified through them as well. I have tandem jumped with Piedmont Skydiving 3 times now and I am absolutely hooked!! The experience is breath taking and arguably life changing. I highly recommend that first timers pay the extra cash for their photo/video package, it's totally worth every penny, ESPECIALLY on your first jump! Experience: The check-in process is pretty quick and easy. Just some simple paperwork to get out of the way, quick weigh-in and check-in and you're about ready to go! The staff and the instructors were great about guiding me through everything I needed to know. It was super easy. Office/Front Desk Staff: Knowledgeable, polite, and accommodating. Professional, personable, and outgoing. Instructors: Experienced, highly skilled, professional, but funny and personable. I really enjoyed every minute I spent at Piedmont Skydiving, even on the ground. Pilot: Really nice guy, experienced, and highly skilled. He, like the instructors, is very polite and professional, but still funny and personable. This is really a great group of people who really know what they're doing in the industry. They're not far from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, etc. and the pricing is reasonable enough to where there's no excuse for you not to go out there and have the time of your life!!! read more

My love for Piedmont Skydiving began when I did a tandem jump there in 2016. I loved the experience and camaraderie so much I was doing a tandem once a month until #7 when my instructor suggested I get my license. At the time, Piedmont was a tandem only dropzone, so I was directed to another DZ to begin AFF where I was introduced to "fun jumping". 6 weeks later, I became a licensed skydiver and never looked back! Fast forward 2 years and Piedmont announced they were opening to fun jumpers and then 8 months after that, they got the PAC which was a big game changer! Since going to Piedmont as a fun jumper, I haven't been let down. Everyone there is so warm and welcoming. The office staff, fun jumpers, pilot, packers, AFF instructors, TIs. Everyone! Unlike some dropzones, everyone will jump with you there. It doesn't matter the skill level or experience you have, no one acts too good to jump with, which is just amazing to me. You can show up, not know anyone and everyone is introducing themselves and asking you to join them on the next load! Also, the willingness of the staff and more experienced jumpers to help you learn and grow is astounding! I highly recommend checking out this amazing rapidly growing DZ. What an amazing experience! If you like adrenaline coursing through your veins you need to skydive at least once in your lifetime. At Piedmont Skydiving everyone was so friendly and greeted you with such enthusiasm, it is obvious they enjoy sharing the adventure with you. Nathan was teamed up with me as my tandem partner. He has definitely; been there, done that, bought the T-Shirt, and sent the postcard home! I purchased the video and photo package and Nathan took it from there, he knows this is your jump and he sets the tone and builds it up by giving you a pre-jump 'interview' and a post-jump 'interview'. Then the airplane shows up and you have a 1-way ticket to ~13,500 feet, we started climbing and just when I thought we were leveling off Nathan shows me his altimeter and then says, "we're halfway there". Then the door rolls open and it's go time! To jump out of an airplane into a cloud is amazing and I can never explain to another the feeling of reaching terminal velocity. Then he opened the parachute and I was soaring with the birds. He pulled a 'hard right' and it was like being weightless for a moment. Then we came in for the landing. I first discovered Piedmont in May of this year. Like many licensed skydivers, I had become uncurrent due to covid-19 and everything being shut down. One of my fellow buddies from my local DZ found them on Google and they were one of the first to open back up. So a group of us decided to meet there to jump and get recurrent. The atmosphere and people were absolutely incredible! From the staff to the jumpers! At many DZ's you experience massive ego's, clicks (yes, just like high school), and the "your not good enough to jump with". Not here!!! From the moment you arrive you're family! People will introduce themselves and ask if you want to jump with them right off the bat! There is a vast array of knowledge and experience and best of all... Everyone jumps with each other! Everyone helps each other! The laughs are far too numerous to count. Every single student I've seen that has gone through their AFF at this DZ have been exceptionally well trained. Watching the TI's work with their tandem jumpers will have you about pee yourself with laughter. They REALLY strive to put those first time jumpers at ease. My local/home DZ is 1 hour from me and I've made that 5 hour drive to Piedmont many times since May! It's really THAT great! read more

It was my first time skydiving and it was beyond an excellent experience at Piedmont Skydiving - the environment was very laid back which was awesome for my nerves. All the staff I interacted with were very helpful, kind, and informative. They were professional at the best times but also able to joke and lighten the anxious energy. No time was spent waiting once the waivers and payments were finished. There were relatively few people there (this may have been because it was a Wednesday morning) so it felt like one-on-one attention the entire time I was there. DEFINITELY invest in the photo or video package! It was honestly one of the best elements of this place. The instructor was able to help me angle the camera correctly and he captured some in-flight photos while I focused on getting ready for the jump and enjoying the view (super nice touch!). I loved being able to take the flash drive home and look through the 300+ photos. Seriously the photo package is 110% worth the money!! Overall, I would (and do) highly recommend Piedmont Skydiving to anyone looking for an amazing experience with Tandem skydiving. This place is worth every penny!!! I am a penny pincher but the staff and the facilities make this place so special. I did not meet one staff member who wasn't relaxing to be around, friendly, and helpful. I loved all the pick nick tables to watch all the jumpers before me. Holly was so amazing with helping us check in, buy our film packages, and was just so easy to talk to honestly. All the staff had this quality. It was like I had known all of them for a long time and we were all friends. That's awesome!!! My jump instructor Allen was the total bomb.com of a person. I'm confident that he made me trip what it was. He was filming at the appropriate times. Making sure I was okay and knew what was going on. Practicing with me. O! Holly even gave us all fist bumps going into the plane haha so sweet. When it came time to loosen my straps, getting closer to landing, I hardly even felt any difference in my harness. That's how careful Allen was. Josh was with my friend Natasha and he was just as wonderful. He was so sweet and funny! I cannot wait to come back!!! read more

On May 24th I/we (some family members) had one of the most memorable & exhilarating times of our lives! All of us took our first skydive with Peidmont Skydiving. The first time out is a tandem jump. Dan DeWitt was the instructor that I was tandemly attached to. What a personable dude he is! From the time he & I took the leap until the time we landed he talked with me & instructed me as to what to expect. The freefall was my favorite part. Not sure how fast we were going at that time but WOW what a feeling!! It was the biggest rush of my life and I can't wait to do it again! My wife has always been afraid of heights & she did it to overcome that fear. She's ready to do it again too! I can't say enough about how amazing this experience was! This was my very first time skydiving, and thanks to Chris, it definitely won't be my last. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and safe, but Chris truly went above and beyond to calm my nerves and guide me through every step. His energy, professionalism, and easygoing nature made me feel completely comfortable--even at 10,000 feet! What made it even more special was sharing this moment with my entire family--we all jumped together, and it was hands down one of the most incredible things we've ever done. My husband and I did our first jump yesterday 4/6/2018, and let me tell you, it was the single most amazing thing we have ever done in our entire life! Everyone was super nice and made us feel comfortable and informed us of everything that was going to happen! Our instructors that we jumped with were absolutely amazing, the guy I jumped with his name was Josh and he made my jump just that much better, he was so funny and so energetic and he was a blast to jump with, my husband said the same thing about the guy he jumped with also! They messed up pictures and even did not say sorry. They gave flash drive with pictures of another person when I called she said "oops" and that she will sent them by email but she did not. So I called next day and they said computer was slow and she could not send it, so again "we will sent pictures tonight" No "Sorry" , nothing. After hour they called and said that they do not have my husband pictures, that they deleted them and on his file they have photo of another person! They said we will get a refund for pictures however when you do skydiving first time you want to have a pictures. One star because when you have business and messed up with customer, say sorry and try to solve a problem to make client will satisfied. read more

YES YES and YES !!!! love my first jump here and i will be a repeat customer for sure... , great staff and the incredible sights of NC ! they look out for your safety and most of all make sure you are having the time of your life. i did end up bruising my tail bone ,knowing there are risks involved before i went ..we just had a rougher landing and i hit my butt just right on the groud ! could have happen to anyone at anytime. other than that i still felt safe and was just a freak thing ( much safer than driving down the highway!!) i will return once i am cleared to fly the skys again ! skydiving is a cool sport and i have lots of respect for all the crew that looked out for me and the respect for safety and mother nature ! read more

My experience here was fantastic. I purchased a gift card on Black Friday for my son and I to experience this and took advantage of a beautiful summer day to take the leap. Other than the wait time, it was a perfect experience. We arrived at 12:30 for a 1:00 appointment, but didn't get to jump until almost 5 becuase of some delays earlier in the day. But when we signed up they did say we would be on site for about 3 hours. My instructor, Tyler, did a great job, he filled me in on what I had to do, he was enthusiastic and energetic and brought the hype! He did an excellent job with the video and pictures. Thank You Andrew Karnowski for making this ONE of the BEST days of MY LIFE! Definitely bucket list worthy! I feel like I've been on a high for two days. This was my very first time to tandem skydive and I was scared to death but I freaking did it! Andrew was calm, educated and he made me feel as safe as you can when your diving out of a fregin plane! This was fantastic. Everyone was so nice- employees and other jumpers alike. It was fun to interact with the other jumpers and it felt like I was with old friends. Allen, my tandem instructor, was FANTASTIC. He was incredibly positive, fun loving, and laid back. I loved the vibe and it was exactly what I was looking for. I had all ways wanted to go skydiving but never had the time then I was like yep I need to do this the staff was great my guide was Kyle he was very chill walk though step getting ready when we got on the plane he would tell me every thousand feet that we climbed until we were at our desired height then he got me ready got right to the door and then we made our jump he was very relaxed calm got me in the right mind set and out we when't when I come back he would love to jump with him again or let my daughter jump with him this place was great thank you for my very first jump read more

So glad to have tried this with my boyfriend for the first time. I was kind of nervous going in but the whole staff did a great job at making my boyfriend and I feel very comfortable. They had me laughing the whole time so I hardly thought about being scared. The whole adrenaline happens before the jump. I can say as I had officially jumped off the plane there was nothing to be scared of! The view was awesome and as you're flying around in the parachute it's very peaceful and relaxing.
