The planes, the instructors and the people there make you feel like you're at home. Now, it is a lot of work... There's a reason you can get through your Instrument, Commercial Single and Multi as well as CFI, CFII and MEI. You have you to show up ready to work for it. No one is going to hand you a rating. The CFI course is intense, two weeks from day one to your checkride, but if you do exactly what you're asked to do, you'll do great in your ride. Will I recommend this program for everyone? No. I don't believe it is for everyone. If you're ready to work hard, you're self motivated and ready to get a job flying and making money in less than 6 months, Blue Line is the place for you. If you're considering ATP, you should have an idea what's expected--definitely check out Blue Line. You'll pay less and finish faster.

To begin with, the advertised program duration of 5-5 1/2 months is often unrealistic, and expectations are not met. Delays are common due to a lack of availability of Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs), and check rides are sometimes canceled the same day because a DPE "doesn't feel like doing it that day," causing inconvenience and additional costs. It often feels like they just want some extra money. Moreover, there are consistent inconsistencies in how rules and standards are applied. New policies are frequently introduced without prior notice and only revealed when it is time to apply them, which can reduce the hours a loan covers--meaning fewer hours= fewer ratings= more money lost. This leads to a lack of transparency and fairness. Combined with ongoing unprofessional conduct and entitlement from some instructors, this seriously undermines the quality of training. I experienced instructors providing me with outdated information, and instructors frequently contradicted one another on the same subjects. This resulted in students having to repeat lessons they should not have needed to repeat, costing additional time and money. I've seen responses from Trey to multiple reviews where concerns are dismissed with statements like, "we don't have you in our system" or "you may have reviewed the wrong flight school." That kind of response avoids addressing the actual issues being raised and gives the impression that accountability is being deflected rather than taken seriously. When safety, training quality, and people's futures are involved, these concerns deserve transparent and responsible answers. Prioritizing reputation or profit over acknowledging problems only undermines trust and raises serious concerns about how the school is being run. Students who are just starting their aviation careers are especially vulnerable, and it appears that some instructors take advantage of this in order to build their own hours/snatch up more money rather than truly focus on teaching. It is also important to note that the school and its leadership, including Trey Walters, Charles Ray Walters III, and Kelsey Lee Walters, are involved in public legal lawsuit matters, each involving substantial sums of over $2 million. This raises additional concerns about their business practices (public records). Trey Walters coerced his staff and blackmailed them during the COVID outbreak and had his entire staff come in regardless of the outcome. For example: "There is no situation where we will close and pay anybody while we are closed (including comp and PTO). If you have any proof of who did this (someone other than yourself, customer, staff, or otherwise), such as a screenshot of a text conversation, and submit it to me by noon tomorrow, I'll give you a $500 bonus on this week's paycheck; even if you were involved. If you have a suspicion of who it was, but don't have proof, please share that information also." (All public records, and all said by Trey Walters.) It is difficult to believe that leadership is unaware of what happens inside this school. Decisions do not make themselves, and responsibility ultimately comes from the top. This has been one of the most poorly managed flight schools I've seen, with serious concerns about both leadership and instruction. A flight school should be run by accountable, responsible, humble, and professional people who genuinely know how to teach and who prioritize student development and safety. If you care about where your thousands of dollars go, your personal safety, your aviation career, and your mental health, I would strongly advise against enrolling at Blue Line. This school will take far more from you than it gives back--financially, professionally, and emotionally. The environment is draining, and the lack of support and accountability makes the experience not only discouraging but potentially damaging to your future in aviation. In conclusion, prospective students should conduct thorough research and carefully consider their options to make informed decisions about their training and future. It is disheartening to see the impact of these practices on students, and I hope that, in time, accountability and positive change will come. This school presents itself as a Christian institution, yet there is nothing that demonstrates or validates these actions.

You don't always have a choice of instructors if the workload is busy. The facility is very nice. WIFI is included in the price of your school tuition. They have a nice simulator for learning things like how to manage an engine failure before you practice in the planes. They have three rooms for studying and test taking. Even the FAA would approve of their facility. The only knocks are that the SIM needs to update GPS system. It makes learning today's approaches, departures impossible. Also, their multi-engine planes can be older. So on occasion you deal with a plane needing maintenance. The good thing is that they typically have enough planes so you can just hop in a different one for training.

While this may be obvious, you would expect there to at least be a preflight, the flight and a nice debrief after. You would also expect a CFII to show up to a scheduled flight simulator to critique you and go over your weaknesses. There is practically no ground school whatsoever. I was given nothing besides a flight and a few notes online. No preflight whatsoever. This program is a lot more disorganized than it used to be at this location and many of the current students would agree. There have been various times when I had only flown 1 time in one month. Very few people can become proficient in an airplane and checkride ready while flying 1-3 times a month. I am not saying that all locations are bad... or even that the company is bad (there are a few people willing to help you and work with you). There is a new program (sounds promising) that is being put in place, but I highly doubt that it will be standardized within the next few months. If you want an instructor change, prepare for there to be a lot of questions, issues and "we can't do that for you, you must finish with your current instructor". Be careful if staying in student housing. There are "add-on's" coming in and out all of the time. I had several things stolen from me, which was unfortunate. Some of it was toiletry items and other were shirts/hats/food. On a tight budget, having food stolen is a huge deal. It is a quick program, so if you feel that you want to gamble and can get through with minimal help, than this is your program. I cannot recommend this current location and I would really take time to evaluate your options. I can say I made a lot of great friends, and met some really cool people despite everything. Again, this is the opinion of one student out of many.

Don't be misled by the company name: while they specialize in helping military pilots transition to ATP and into civilian airlines, they can train anyone at any phase of their training. Personally, I finished up my commercial training, then returned to do multi-engine, and plan to head back to complete my instructor training. A few things to highlight about my time there. Tracey and Kim will probably be your first point of contact and will get you all set up. They made sure all the admin was smooth and transparent. At other places I've trained at, the admin, if any, was shady or non-existent, so this was a real breath of fresh air. Chris Kreske and the instructor team (Alex, Ryan, Franz, et al.), first of all, have great personalities! They are exceedingly knowledgeable, sociable, and genuinely interested and invested in your improvement as a pilot. They expect and train to higher standards. My instructors had flexible schedules and were happy to work with me. In commercial training, I requested 2 flights per day, with a ground between. No problem! There is also a DPE on staff (and more on call), which means checkrides get scheduled and happen with no delay. For both my commercial and multi-engine courses, once I was ready and endorsed, I came back first thing the next morning for my checkride. Amazing! The school's airplanes are clean, very well maintained, and thoroughly insured! There is maintenance on site and ready incase of any needed repairs. The aircraft fleet is deep, with plenty of planes available. You may even get to fly the Seneca II with the Robertson STOL kit installed! That said, I was very happy to fly the same airplane every session during both commercial and multi-engine. Location-wise, after take off, it takes very little time getting to the training area. Take off, get clear of the airport, and get down to business. This was a big and welcome change for me after spending most of my time training under and around Charlotte's bravo. On the ground, there are plenty of places to stay in and around Goldsboro. Near the AFB main gate there are a surprising amount of options for restaurants and grocery stores. Which brings me to the price...they have the best prices I've seen/paid, for both flying and ground instruction. No question. I am extremely happy with my experience with MIL2ATP. I only wish I had found out about them soon. If it's an available option for you, I highly recommend you make it your first choice. And don't just take my word for it, go ahead and look up their many AOPA awards!

Their online courses, dedicated staff, and multiple partnerships truly provide a "one-size fits all" solution. I signed up around Nov 2016, and despite rescheduling multiple times due to AF paperwork delays (sorry Brittany), I finally attended the flight practical portion Aug 17. Over the span of the 5-day course, we had daily academics, 3 flights and a check ride. The instructors are all very knowledgable, the aircraft are very well-maintained, and the ATP study materials are spot on. Feel free to message me with any questions; however, I highly recommend Mil2ATP if you're looking to get your ATP.
