Looks like we're in the right place

What a cool spot off Cabrillo Hwy to stop off the coast and into the delicious scents and smells of fresh pie. Upon entering you are greeted by a beautiful farm stand full of vegetables, fruit, preserves, soap, cards, merch, and more. We grabbed a hot coffee with oat milk, a mixed berry 'cutie' pie, an apricot 'cutie' pie, an espresso shortbread, and French onion galette. I love the mixture of sweet and savory, and that they have these smaller pies perfect for roadtrip sharing if you don't want a big ol' pie to take togo. There are picnic benches outside and upon looking at their website, there is a beautiful story behind pie ranch (a working organic farm, an organization with a mission to build partnerships for a just food system, and an education center). Checking out their calendar of events, they have meadow dances, volunteer days, and so much more. Private site rentals and weddings are open to book, and they have private farm programs/retreats. One option includes a hands-on pie baking lesson..love it! I love the idea of heading with others to this beautiful location to learn culinary tips, tricks, and make something together building community within community. If you're looking for a snack, breathe of fresh air and to stretch your legs on your drive home or to your destination, Pie Ranch is where it's at. Also to note..the pie was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately it was gobbled up before any pictures could be taken :)

Pie Ranch was the cutest pit stop on my drive down Highway 1! They offer way more than just pies, including produce, pantry goods, crafts by local artists, etc. I bought the cutest sticker and also a print from an artist down in Santa Cruz. I also couldn't resist trying a mini pie and chose the Buttermilk Blackberry "Cutie Pie". It was delicious! The creaminess and tart berries went so well together. Prices were on the higher end, but the money goes toward their non-profit educational programs. I definitely recommend stopping by!

Wow what a great operation! Lots going on. Pie ranch also works with the community and schools, hosts a day of activity like cooking in the outdoor kitchen and baking pies together. Special event and education. 2025 = 20 year anniversary! There's a barn store right in front with free parking, drop in to get some pies, cheese twists, pastries, flower bouquets fresh cut and arranged flowers from farm close by, apparel, beans, jams, merch. You're free to walk toward the back and around the farm too any day it's open to the public. If you have time why not look around *fun fact! Farm is shaped like a pie, that's why there are areas called "upper slice" and "lower slice"

Frozen options. Seem a tad pricey.

Maybe I visited at the wrong time (an hour before closing), but there really many options available--only Chocolate Chess Pie. The Chocolate Chess Pie itself was fairly impressive though. But the lack of pretty much everything else (fresh and not frozen) was disappointing, especially when you've committed to driving almost 2hrs to visit Pie Ranch for the first time ever. I get it, I visited an hour before closing, but the closing time is 4pm and it's a trek to visit this location. Please have more inventory? Besides the pies, not much else were there other than gear, which seemed rather pricey. I'd visit and try again but at a much, much earlier time.

Delicious!! Amazing Pies. Great customer service. I tried the Chocolate chess cutie pie and the Lemon Blueberry buttermilk cutie pie. It is a Definite must stop by when you're in the area.

Always love stopping in at Pie Ranch when cruising down Highway 1 from Half Moon Bay to Santa Cruz! While of course they have their namesake pies, it's actually all the other locally made goods that I love to shop. They typically have a nice variety of teas, jams, other canned food goods, cocktail mixes, pottery, and fresh fruits and vegetables. A great place to shop around for anyone who loves to host or spend time in the kitchen. I've only tried a couple of their baked goods over the years, but my mom typically gets a treat or two when we stop in. They usually have a few different options for sweet, savory, and even a vegan or gluten free treat as well. The baked goods are pretty pricey, but it is a very small and local operation, and everything is super fresh.

Driving down Hwy One toward Santa Cruz, I've seen the sign over the years and was momentarily curious what a pie ranch could be like (photo: https://yelp.to/Ykk1f4XVJv). Jamie W and I finally stopped by one morning when we were staying at Costanoa nearby because who doesn't want a slice of homemade pie in the middle of nowhere? The building visitors first enter is an elevated barn. Sure enough, there were pies and other baked items in their display case. But there was a lot of local goods as well - fresh produce, jams and juices, crushed tomatoes, earthenware, T-shirts, handmade household items. We stuck with the pie and had the $9 Lemon Blackberry Buttermilk Cutie Pie which was perfectly sized for two appetites (photo: https://yelp.to/-Qfn-OQ3HZ). It was creamy tasty and not too sweet or tart. The $3 cup of coffee was a bit on the lukewarm side but still provided a nice complement (photo: https://yelp.to/Opxwb-sSfx). It looked like most people just came in and out of the building and hit the road again. That's too bad because the owners welcome visitors to explore their 14-acre farm which is ironically shaped like a slice of pie. We walked on the dirt road behind the building and read the educational signs that explained the genesis of Pie Ranch's sustainable farm and unique food system education and advocacy non-profit organization. We saw hearty rows of produce and plenty of livestock including goats and chickens who lived in a mobile coop. I heard they do Outstanding in the Field here. That would be cool (review: https://yelp.to/Xr5WnOj92b). RELATED - Exploring the Pacific side of the SF peninsula? Here's my collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/3aiDR9I

I love this place.I came here today and got their miniature lemon, blueberry cream pie n it was delicious The service is always friendly and I think they bake the pies on site.I recommend this place

Pie Ranch offers brownies, berry pies, and savory baked goods too! Got the strawberry galettes during my recent visit, and they were enjoyable snack-sized treats, the pastry light and flaky, the strawberry filling delicious and the fruit not too sweet. Staff communication and energy was minimal, but he rang me up quickly and handed me my order, no problem. They have both indoor and outdoor seating in a foresty picnic area, quite simple and charming. And there are about 6-8 parking spaces on site for convenience.

We stopped here after hiking the Ano Nuevo State Park trail, so this was a good surprise as we were very hungry. They had plenty of pies - large ones, mini ones, and frozen ones. They also have bread, coffee, plenty of fresh produce, eggs, and other items like jams, hot sauce, and other merchandise. We got the mini pies--lemon berry and walnut. Both were really good; I personally liked the lemon flavor better. There are also a few picnic tables outside to relax and enjoy the treats.

Pie Ranch is further down the coast from Pescadero and a great pit stop to pick up fresh baked pies. I came down pretty late in the day and was able to get the last blueberry lemon pie (delicious!). They had a few chocolate pies for sale as well. If you can't get their fresh pies in time, they also have frozen pies you can purchase. Pie Ranch is a working farm selling not just pies, but also fruits, produce, florals and souvenir items. They have quite some land that you can tour yourself and walk around to enjoy nature and their animals.

Great breads, especially the seeded loaf! We also like the salt-dusted chocolate cookies. Expert tip. Go after 4pm for their happy hour prices. Another tip: call to reserve what you want/need since they do frequently sell out

One of my favorite places for pie! They run out pretty quickly so either to eat you go super early or call in advance for pie. I love that they don't always have the same pie so it's a great mix of variety. I also love that they have fresh produce, jam, bread, and more selections to choose from so that it's not just for pies. Definitely place to check out !

Like cutie pie - so good!

A Truly Magical Wedding -- Thank You to the Entire Team!…read more Our wedding on July 25, 2026 at the Ranch at Silver Creek was absolutely magical, and it's all because of the incredible team that made it happen: Coordinators -- Nicole & Sydney: You two kept everything running seamlessly from start to finish. Your calm, organized presence allowed us to be fully present and enjoy every moment without a single worry. You two were also our very first audience -- cheering us on as we ran through our choreographed dance one last time in the bridal suite before our grand entrance. Having you witness that private moment before anyone else meant the world to us. And thank you for partnering so graciously with our additional offsite coordinators, who we brought in since we chose silk flowers rather than working with the venue's recommended florist. Banquet Captain -- Jasmine: Your leadership and attention to detail ensured the reception flowed beautifully. You anticipated every need before we even knew we had one. Bar -- Jen & Alyssa: Our guests are still raving about the drinks and the wonderful energy you brought to the bar. You kept the celebration going all night! The tequila shots for our conga line were a nice touch to keep the energy high and the party going! Servers -- Tony, Dana, Sarah B., Elijah & Martiza: The service was flawless. You were attentive, friendly, and made every guest feel taken care of. Thank you for making dinner service such a special experience. Photobooth -- Nykaela: You brought so much fun and laughter to the reception! Our guests had a blast, and we now have the most hilarious keepsakes to treasure forever. Planning Team -- Bri, Monica & Sarah T.: From our very first meeting, you helped us bring our vision to life. Your creativity, responsiveness, and genuine care made the entire planning process a joy; I wish we were still planning! Chefs -- Eduardo & Tyler: The food was absolutely phenomenal. Our guests could not stop complimenting the meal, and we couldn't agree more -- every dish was perfection. Dishwasher -- Michael: Behind every great event is someone working tirelessly behind the scenes. Michael, your hard work did not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for you. To the entire Ranch at Silver Creek family -- thank you for giving us the wedding of our dreams and BEYOND. Every single person on this team played a role in making our day unforgettable. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would do it over and over again if we could!

It is a beautiful venue and a convenient location as many of our folks are in the Bay Area. The drive there is also very easy and the venue has a large parking lot for guests. From the moment we booked for a tour to signing contract with The Ranch with Wedgewood, everything ran so smoothly. Communication was easy and efficient with the team here. They responded to all my emails within a day. They also did occasional check in to make sure we were on track of things and see if we needed help with anything. I felt like the team here are passionate with their job as it showed in the care, kindness, responsiveness, and diligence with their time and communication with us. Coming from a couple with full time jobs and other obligations and as someone who hates planning, Wedgewood all-inclusive was absolutely worth it. Planning our wedding was almost stress-free and so easy. And although it is all-inclusive, we were still able to customize our package any ways we wanted. On the day of our wedding, Nicole was our day of coordinator. She was so fun and amazing to work with. I appreciated that she checked in to see how we were doing while making sure that things were moving along as scheduled. Our wedding day operated so well because of her professionalism and enthusiasm. Our Banquet Captain Jasmine was amazing too. After Nicole left from her shift, I got a bit sad and nervous but felt much better when Jasmine took over. She was so sweet and just like Nicole, she managed everything well while making sure if we were doing ok. Our guests had such a great time because our DJ Aaron hyped up the crowd with fun energy. The food was AMAZING too. We opted for buffet that came with 6 appetizers, 8 assorted salads, steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, bread and butter, and 3 proteins. Beef carving station was a hit. There was SO MUCH food!!! Shoutout to Tyler and Eduardo who were our chefs that day! Our guests also complimented on how beautiful the venue is with the bay area city view. Absolutely beautiful place for wedding photos. We are forever grateful and will truly miss the team here who made our big day so beautiful and perfect. Thank you again.

Starting with everything positive, which was the majority of our experience: this is one of the most stunningly beautiful restaurants I have ever seen in my life. I wish we had gotten here earlier before our reservation to walk down and say hi to the sheep and take pictures with the meadow, because it is a beautiful and extremely well taken care of piece of land. Our reservation was outdoors and during sunset, which was stunning. All of our food was absolutely delicious. The relish tray was nice and fresh to start, the jidori chicken was perfectly cooked and super flavorful, and the salad was huge and packed full of fresh ingredients. And be sure to save room for dessert, ordering the house made ice cream is a MUST! Special shout out to our server here as well, I forgot to write down his name, but he was extremely helpful in making recommendations not just about food, but also on itinerary recommendations for our trip. The negative to our experience here and only reason I am taking off a star for this rating is that we had a rough time getting checked in for our reservation. It was rather hard to make your way up to the host stand, and I was bumped by several staff members who were grabbing menus, etc. without realizing they were behind me. The front of house did not have our reservation marked as outdoors, and we mentioned that we were happy to wait until an outdoor table opened up since that was our preference to eat outside. Soon after checking in, we were seated at a table on the patio, but some unkind remarks were made about how us being placed there would make other patrons unhappy because now they would have to wait. Overall a good experience but a bit of whiplash between front and back of house. Did not ruin our night though as the food and service team were so great! Reservations are also a must, you can log in early AM online to reserve ahead.

I really hope whoever represents Mr. Eastwood and The Mission reads this and addresses it appropriately. We didn't have reservations, we had read the reviews and knew the food was good. We got there in the middle of the week, it was busy. We were greeted by one of the hostesses, super nice and were told the wait was 45 minutes. No problem, the bar was open and we sat to grab a few drinks. The bar staff, AWESOME and funny. This is when we met the lady of the house, the woman who I would describe as the lead hostesses. 5-5, skinny, sharp facial features, very pale and the attitude to match. She greeted several people who just walked in ( we had been waiting 20 minutes already), local patrons. She immediately ORDERED the front wait staff to sit 2 parties of 4, they got moved to the front of the line. She did not make contact with us, the simple people, she actually smirked when she looked in our direction. This is when I noticed the shift in attitude from the wait staff. Prior to her arrival, they were happily working smiling and joking with each other. She walked in and it's like Cruella had arrived . She disappeared back in the food preparation area and came back out and again, she took 2 parties ahead of us and seated them personally. They did not have reservations ( I overheard the conversation) . We didn't mind the wait, it was the attitude. When we finally were seated, the staff was " Johnny on the spot" with thier service and attitude. The food, off the hook. I had steak, done just right, buttery. She had fish cooked to perfection. When the waiter heard we were celebrating our anniversary, they brought a nice dessert, free. I watched in interest Cruella maneuver around the restaurant , I watched how the staff reacted around her and how she treated guests. Mission Ranch, if you are losing employees regularly, this person might be the cause of that. I don't want to play the race card but I will say this, those of us that were not a " Billy" or a " Buffy" were treated differently.

Hero Ranch is located in one of the more overlooked downtowns of Saratoga, which has a quaint throwback feel and vibe. The Good: * Dog-friendly outdoor dining. * Reservations via OpenTable. * Fantastic service by Katelyn L.; she was the perfect server: knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and was friendly without being overly smarmy. * Nice stiff drinks (old-fashioned), and my girlfriend's mocktail (Pink Slip) was fantastic. * The cornbread and fried chicken appetizer was very tasty and served in an interesting presentation. The bacon wasn't really necessary, in our opinion, but this place likes to rely on food crutches; more on that later. * The pork chop was delicious, cooked well, and paired beautifully with the apricot glaze. * The seasonal pumpkin ravioli was also delicious, albeit a little greasy from the brown butter, but if you see it still on the menu, it's worth an order. The Meh: * Street and city lot parking only, but it's free. Street parking can be difficult to come by during busier hours, so be sure to look out for the city-owned lots that are located off the main drag. * If you like black truffle on everything, then this is the place for you. Suffice it to say, we are not fans. They literally cram it into almost every possible item, even as a sauce for the cornbread and fried chicken appetizer. Fortunately, we asked for the sauce on the side, and I did try some with the chicken and cornbread, but it brought nothing to the party. * They were out of almost all their beers on tap on a Saturday night. How is this possible? Piss poor planning, that's how. The Ugly: * The outdoor seating is hit-or-miss; if they put you under the patio with a large party, then you should be good to go. However, if you get seated at a two-top in the aisle like we did, prepare to be barraged by a constant stream of customers, servers, food runners, chefs, managers, and God knows who else walking by you every thirty seconds. At first, it was mildly amusing, but as the night went on, it started getting very annoying and put a bit of a damper on our first date night in weeks. Overall, it was a mediocre experience that could have easily been much better depending on where we were seated.

While in school, I learned a lot about farm-fresh food and what that exactly meant. Apparently once…read moreyou've tasted produce straight from the vine, you'll never go back. But as a kid, I never really had the opportunity to visit a farm or even grow my own fruits and vegetables. Living in constant suburbia meant frequent trips to Ralph's or Safeway. That all changed last Sunday when I picked my very own strawberries with my girlfriend at Swanton Berry Farm. After hearing my boss boast about picking 12 pounds (!!!) of the juiciest and most delicious strawberries, I knew I had to go. And what better person to take then my girlfriend who was a HUGE fan of strawberries. So Swanton Berry Farm is a local supplier of fresh and organic fruits along the beautiful coasts of Northern California. They have two locations for Berry picking: Coastways Ranch is next to Ano Nuevo State Park (which you should go to!) and The Farm Stand is a bit further south right outside Davenport. The main difference between the two is that the latter is only open for picking on weekdays (although you can purchase stuff everyday) whereas Coastways is accessible during the weekends from 10am-5pm. Really sweet deal since you can pretty much pick during any day of the week! We ended up visiting Coastways Ranch since it was a Sunday. Getting here was actually kind of a doozy for us. Though the drive was very scenic, it took a little over an hour from the South Bay Area. And that's because the only "quick" way to the coast was south on Highway 17 and back north up Highway 1. GPS came in handy, and there were fortunately signs directing where to go. If y'all get lost, just note that the ranch is around 10 miles north of Davenport. Besides the drive, hardest part was making into the parking lot because it's about a half mile of unpaved dirt. Have to drive slow otherwise you'll go into a ditch! Now if all this sounds too stressful, hear me out; it was SO WORTH THE JOURNEY. Once we got out of the car, we were greeted by ROWS UPON ROWS of strawberries - far as my tiny eyes could see. Immediately after we got our sturdy box from the stand, we washed our hands (there's a station) and immediately started picking as many as we could. Because we came right in the middle of the season (around summer), the strawberries were SO AMAZING. They came in all kinds of sizes. Some were a bit riper than others, so there was plenty of variety to choose from. We were allowed to sample however much we wanted before paying as long as we didn't waste anything. And by golly I filled my tummy and our box like no tomorrow because these were HANDS DOWN BAR NONE the BEST strawberries I've ever had in my life. The size, sweet taste, and color - these characteristics were so different and much more authentic compared to what you'd find in the store. For example, these strawberries were much smaller since they weren't pumped with growth hormones. True to what I'd learned in school, I'll probably never look at store bought strawberries again. After an hour of picking, we pretty much filled our entire box. It came out to be about 4 freaking pounds so use that as a measuring stick. I highly recommend only getting as much as you can eat in like a week since these suckers go bad FAST (or just freeze). Cost was $5 a pound ($4.5 if you get over 10 pounds) so we paid around $19. The guy at the stand actually gave me more money back in change, and I thought that was VERY generous of him! Farmers are a godsend I tell y'all. Truth be told, I never really cared about strawberries until my experience at Swanton Berry Farm. Sure, I thought they were really nice fruits but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them. Now, however, I am SO DOWN to drive over an hour to pick strawberries because Coastways Ranch and Swanton Berry Farm were definitely worth an "Omg, I'd travel 2 hours for this" rating. Have fun and prosper,

BAD experience. Not…read morebecause the strawberries are small and not sweet (Kinda expected that because it's not strawberry season) BUT because they are DISHONEST. Got 8 strawberries only because the strawberries weren't that sweet, went to pay, got charged HALF A POUND ($5/lb, 0.5lb for $2.5). Found it really weird that 8 small strawberries costs $2.5. Went home and weighed it, found that the 8 strawberries weighs only 0.172 pound!!!!! (See pic - adjusted for the tare weight) So that means they OVERCHARGED me!
