I was getting takeout at a nearby restaurant and a server from pie bar starts walking around handing out mushroom pizzas for everyone around the area. It was absolutely delicious. Taste and texture were amazing. It had a really rich mushroom taste from end to end (or tip to crust) so more than just having mushrooms thrown on top of the pizza. Im a meat lover so I usually put lots of meat on my pizza but I would be more than happy to skip the meat if it was for this mushroom pizza. Pretty excited to see the quality of their other pizzas too. Very impressed. Only reason why a five star wasn't given was because I only had a slice and I'd like to try the whole pizza to comment on consistency which is important especially for pizza if you don't want to experience inconsistencies like size of the pizza slices, toppings not evenly spread, etc. Also, price matters so not sure what that's like. Got a takeout menu though, so I hope to try a paid pizza soon... read more

I would NOT recommend this restaurant unless you do not mind spending money on poorly prepared food (pasta a la dente here = hard and chalky) and extremely poor service. I have gone to Pie Bar on a few occasions in support of a friend who lives in the neighborhood. Once the vegetarian pizza was enjoyable and my friend enjoys a glass of wine and a dessert. I returned once with a group of friends, we all had pasta and agreed it was over priced. Also, do not expect that for the price of the meals you will be treated to a few slices of bread and butter while you wait overly long for your meal. The lobster in the $29 plate of "lobster" ravioli had obviously gone looking for me. The dish was tasteless, not even a tiny piece of lobster was visible and the ravioli hard. My most recent experience with a daughter home on holiday was waiting 20 minutes for a watery alcoholic drink and getting it only after reminding the waitress that it had been ordered. Then waiting another almost 45 minutes for Mussels and a salad that had obviously been left to die, while others who came long after us received similar meals. It is clear to me that if I want to sit by the water and enjoy a good meal and equally good service it's necessary to try even the food carts that are nearby. We did walk out after speaking to a woman who had not been previously visible and who, too late, attempted to appease. read more

Popped in here today for lunch before a show at the Fleck Dance Theatre. This place is a great addition to the Queen's Quay Terminal. I had the Italian Salad for a starter and a Margherita pizza for my main. The salad was really tasty and the pizza was good too. I really enjoyed the crust as it was that perfect amount of chew. My only note is I would have liked a little more fresh basil. The things that can't be beat about his place were our view, a choppy grey but still stellar Lake Ontario, and our server who was attentive and lovely. One of the first places I visited after the provinces reopening. Beautiful view on the Harbourfront. 5 minute walk away from the mini beach. Super nice food (had a pizza between two people and it was so yummy and didn't feel heavy and oily like most restaurant pizzas) and really cute cocktail drinks. Quick service. Very clean and organized which was very pleasant to see as it was only the second day of reopening that my friend and I had dined there. Definitely recommend. Also- right beside any amazing dessert place called "The Fix" that has really cool ice cream. read more

This was the first really bad restaurant experience I've ever had in Toronto. I know it was really busy, but there was no excuse for the fiasco. First our server spilled water on us, then the service was slow as molasses. The garlic bread was decent and so were the lamb meatballs. The pizza was another story: the angry bee pizza was decent but the sausage and peppers pizza came out cold, with almost no toppings. Once we finally managed to find our server again, they redid it and it was somewhat better, but doughy. Then they couldn't get the bill to us because their computer went down. We got a starter and 2 pizzas, which was the perfect amount for 3 people. The service was awesome and our waiter was really nice and chatty. I'd actually give this restaurant a zero star rating, but Yelp won't let me do so. My boyfriend and I had dinner there this past Sunday night (August 6), and were wary of our waiter from the minute we got there. We figured he probably wasn't too pleased that he had to work on a long weekend, so we let a lot of his attitude slide. A few minutes before our bill came, I got up to go use the ladies room. When I returned, I noticed my boyfriend standing outside the restaurant. I asked him what had happened, and he noted that while I was gone the waiter asked him if he was 'dating that thing,' and that it was 'nice of me to leave right before the bill came.' Oh, HI. It is absolutely none of your business how we manage our bills. As a new business looking to attract customers, you probably shouldn't be hiring disrespectful, and clearly very unhappy people. Went for happy hour yesterday. What a treat! Already planning my trip back. Happy hour wines for $6 waitress suggested an Italian Chardonnay it was delicious. Had a pizza and asked to make it spicy! Had a weird experience at Pie Bar this past Sunday. I am a vegetarian and none of the pizzas on the menu were vegetarian. The menu lists Gluten-free dough and diary-free cheese as upgrades, but nothing else. I asked if they could just make me a pizza and throw whatever veggies they had on top. Much to my surprise, when I received the bill it was $40. And please note this pizza is between a small and large in the normal chains, just to give you perspective. Things like onions were add at $3.00 and olives at $2.00 etc. The server had never warned me about this, so I complained, willing to compromise. The Manager came out and in a very condescending tone told us this was not a grocery story and these additional items require preparation time, etc. But let's be honest, the other pizzas list things like wild boar as toppings, so a few veggies.....really? He did drop $15 off the bill. However, to be honest the food was sort of pricey given the quality, but I guess it is Harbourfront, so..... The pizza was sort of liquidy and mushy, nothing really artisan, but if the price had been $25, given the venue, I would have been O.K. Lesson learned, going forward I will check the price of substitution ingredients, but come on......$40???? Overall, nice spot, mediocre food, tourist prices. read more

Great wood fired pizza and tasty pasta location. A bit hidden at night, but we were able to find the location from the on line map! Kids menu covered chicken, pizza and pasta , just what you'd expect! The atmosphere was cool with low lights and a simple but aesthetically pleasing decor! I love this spot and its location. In the summer sit outside and enjoy the weather and view and in the winter, the window spots are great. The staff have been awesome every time I've visited - they are warm, friendly, personable, and accommodating...a big win for me. (I met the Manager one time when I went and didn't find her as friendly as the staff!...) the food is also great...I've visited with small groups and large and everyone has enjoyed their meals. The take a way is so fast and made before your eyes, that is brilliant on a friday after work evening. I do wish they had a more ala-cart options for your pie other than the fixed pizza menu. Poor service, bland food, expensive prices. Was really looking forward to trying this place out and I could not have been more disappointed. We went for lunch and it was empty so you would think we'd get some attention from the wait staff... wrong. Very slow, and when our food finally did arrive (spaghetti and meatballs), she never checked in with us. We actually had to get her to ask her about the meatballs which seemed undercooked to a point we were concerned. She later came back and said it's the type of meat and they would make us a new plate but not to expect anything different.... What felt like an hour later we finally got a new dish, and she was right exactly the same... If I was concerned about eating the meat maybe offer I order something else? On top of all this, the pasta was not special at all. Small serving of crushed tomatoes on top of spaghetti with zero taste for $18. She never once checked in with us. Last interaction was paying the bill (which was steep for what we got). After we paid she stormed off shaking her head. All in all we left hungry, upset, and disappointed. I ordered three pizzas to go and was sorely disappointed. First of all, it took 40 minutes to deliver the pizza. Second of all, one of our pizzas had been sitting around the entire time we waited, and given that it was already on the counter when we ordered, it's evident that they gave us someone's abandoned pizza. Third of all, two out of the three pizzas were burnt, with the exception of the cold one which was not at all enjoyable because the cheese was hard. This was our first ever visit and surely not the last one. My boyfriend had the godfather pizza and I had the Tartufo. Tasteful, perfectly baked, the flavours blended wonderfully. A totally must try. This neighbourhood is really lacking for good restaurants. This place gets a solid three stars as a result. Food is good - the prosciutto pizza and the spicy pie pizza were both good. Surprisingly, the sangria was also good (I find restaurant Sangria is usually pretty awful and sweet). This place has a nice patio and worth a visit if you're in the area. Not sure this place is worth visiting in the winter (in fact I wonder if they will close in the winter). read more
