Chicken doner pidde
Breanne B.

You need to check this spot out! I'm still thinking about it, so delicious. Chicken doner pidde Flavorful chicken grilled to perfection. Pidde was blistered and golden, its boat-shaped crust was crisp at the edges yet tender and pleasantly chewy within. The dough carried a subtle char from the oven, giving each bite a warm, smoky depth without overpowering the toppings. At the center, everything is generous but balanced: savory chicken and bubbling cheese, and just enough richness to soak into the bread without making it heavy. The edges provide that satisfying crunch, while the middle remains soft. Ended this meal with one of the best tasting pieces of baklava, sincerely. Clean bright white restaurant. I can only complain about the chairs as they are not hip friendly hahahaha This Turkish and reinvented Mediterranean restaurant hits! Thank you I'll be back!!!!!

Came in today after such a nice experience yesterday at Pidde G. Service was friendly again. Got the chicken doner bowl this time around. Tons of grilled chicken, lettuce, pickled veggies and a nice yogurt-based dipping sauce. Comes with a nice piece of warm flatbread. Tried to eat some and save for later, but ended up eating it all. So far Pidde G is 2-2 on my visits!

diced beef pidde

came here around 2 on a Tuesday and had no wait! there's a lot of tables inside to dine in at, I believe one small round table outside pricing is fair for the Bay Area! $15 for a cheese pidde and additional $2-5 for meat! I got the diced beef pidde & a pistachio baklava! the pidde was yummy, it also smells really good :). I did wish the meat was a little juicier & a little more flavorful, but otherwise amazing! as someone who isn't huge on sweets, the pistachio baklava was a perfect hint of sweetness! it wasn't overly sweet, just perfect to where I can still enjoy it. would come back again if in the area!!

Very clean. Turkish Piddle (flatbread). I had it with lamb/beef. Crust was perfect slightly chewy while light crispy. Cheese was yummy. I kind wish it had a bit of acid or chimichuri with but had also gotten a beet Salad so was using the balsamic dressing it. The beet Salad was good pretty basic but ingredients were high quality from balsamic to fresh arugula, feta, some walnuts, beets. They had water with i think mint and lemon. Great place. Want to try their Turkish delights and other desserts.

Most restaurants in downtown Walnut Creek were packed on Father's Day, but I remembered how much I loved this spot--so we gave it a try. There was no line, and the vibe was wonderfully casual and chill. They even serve lemon-mint water, which was a refreshing touch. We ordered some of their most popular dishes( see photo), and every bite was delicious. Even the kids' meal--with a salmon skewer--was surprisingly tasty!

Pidde G opened in Jade Garden's space 8ish months ago. Infrastructure mostly similar but for where the service counter & the bake station are. Minimal decor on da walls. Front counter had rows of pistachio Turkish delight varietals. Ordered at counter. Pd. Food brought to table in 10 minutes. Offerings (Turkish): Pidde ala carte with proteins or as plate, wrap, bowl or salad., lahmacun, salads, meze & soup, desserts, kids menu. Bites: Piddle donor (15) +beef & lamb (4) -Pidde is traditional Turiskish boat-shaped flatbread (18" x 3 1/2") baked in stone oven. -saltless, almost thin crust is chewy, crispy. Minced beef & lamb with cheese made nicely nuanced flavas. Has texture of pizza without excess salt. Cool! 5 stars worthy! Immaculate service. Artisan ingredients. Food freshly baked to order. Reasonable prices.

Saw this place and my husband had been reading how good it was so we gave it a try. We had the chicken piddle which is cooked in a big pizza oven. It's like a pizza without red sauce. Tasty so give it a try!

[4.5 stars] PiddeG is the newest addition to the Encina Grande plaza that's serving up Mediterranean/ Turkish food! Aside from the Kebab Shop on the other side of Ygnacio Valley Road, this is literally the only other Mediterranean spot in the North Gate neighborhood, so I was very excited to try. [+1 star] Clean, and bright space Upon walking in, my first impression was that the restaurant was clean, bright, and welcoming which created a comfortable atmosphere from the moment you walked in. [+1 star] Smooth ordering process. You pick between one of the following: a wrap, a salad, a bowl, or a plate - all have their own base price. Then you pick a protein and depending on what you choose, it's an additional price onto your base cost. If you don't want any of the above, you can order a pidde (boat shaped flatbread) or a lahmacun (basically pizza). You order with the person at the register. So this can part to get to ordering can take a while depending on how many people are in line in front of you. If you're interested in getting a drink, you can also purchase one from their drink display (appeared to be various soft drinks, carbonated drinks, and yogurt drinks). If you want water, they have a self serve option towards the back of the restaurant. [+1 star] Wide variety of Turkish delights and baklava options. If there are a lot of people in front of you waiting to order, you can pass the time by looking at their dessert counter! There are soooo many Turkish delight options and baklava options - 12 l Turkish delight flavors and 4 baklava varieties to be exact. If you have FOMO like me, get a variety box! They have small and large box options for both the Turkish delights and baklava. [-0.5 star] Staff knowledge on products. Pro tip: if you're thinking about the Turkish delight, get the small box. The person I ordered with at the register didn't seem that knowledgeable about their desserts. I asked if the small assorted box of Turkish delights had the same flavors as the small. He said yes. My friend ordered the large and I ordered the small box. We opened our respective boxes and to our dismay, they were not the same. The large box contained 16 pieces but had more of the what I consider are the traditional Turkish delights such as the ones with rose petals and saffron on the outside. The small box contained 8 pieces with flavors that I was more interested in like strawberries and milk, coconut lemon and milk, and chocolate hazelnut. The pieces in my small box didn't look to be uniform at all. Some pieces were clearly bigger than others. [+1 star] Big portions for food. I ordered the PiddeG salad and added on one chicken skewer and one beef skewer for my protein. The salad had fresh ingredients and both meats were seasoned and cooked very well. I thought the pieces of meat on the skewer were a generous size as well. My SO ordered the beef and lamb wrap which was about the size of his forearm. [+1 star] Fair wait times. Both the salad and the wrap came out in about 10 minutes. We had also ordered a Pidde Doner which is the flatbread with meat (which I cannot remember what type of meat) for two friends that were supposed to come meet us but they didn't end up coming. This particular item took about 20 minutes to come out and i realized it was because they were making the piddes fresh to order in their own pidde oven! When it came out, the pidde was steaming, hot to the touch (that we had to give it a few min to cool down), and was seriously almost the length of the table, no joke (check out my photo)! Overall, PiddeG makes a strong first impression with its clean, welcoming space, smooth ordering concept, and standout portion sizes. While there's a small learning curve with staff knowledge (especially when it comes to desserts), the quality, variety, and value of the food easily make up for it. I'd happily return to when I'm craving Mediterranean/Turkish food close to home. If you're on the fence, come give this place a try!

Finally a turkish spot close to us. Looked small at first upon entrance but they have more seating in the back. food was good not bad. i had the adani beef plate which was okay (the beef was alright) the rest of the plate was good. The appetizer plate with the different options was good and so was the pizza pita. They don't really check up on you if you need anything or not so don't be afraid to call upon them,. workers were friendly.

Fresh ingredients, flavorful food and pristine dining area. Highly recommend. I did not know much about Turkish cuisine before, therefore didn't visit this restaurant until recently. Very impressed.

Beef/Lamb Doner Plate

First trip to Pidde G recently and I enjoyed it. The location is really clean, lots of good lighting and their desserts are right up front to see. The staff were friendly enough and ordering was a breeze. I had the lamb/beef doner plate with a few pieces of pistachio baklava on the side. My order was to-go and now I'm thinking it would've been better enjoyed at the restaurant. Overall, the meat was nice but lacking in flavor. The rice portion was overcooked. The hummus and side sauces were a nice add to complement the meal. The side salad was soggy and didn't have the crisp bite I was looking for. The baklavas (not pictured) tasted nice and would get those again. Looking forward to an in-dining experience next.

Sampler Meze Plate
Andrew E.

I very rarely criticize a restaurant on price as if the quality makes up for it I'm willing to pay and understand today's economy. However at PiddeG, it's sit down restaurant prices for fast casual. The $9 for a piece of baklava was the real killer, I didn't expect it to be over $5. I actually thought it was mischarged. Take this money to a French bakery and you can get an epic chocolate croissant for half price. The baklava was also borderline stale (very surprised as the display looks absolute beautiful! Had my order not been takeout I would have requested a refund)... At $3 a bite I was fully disappointed. At over $50 for mezze plate, Pidde, baklava, and coconut water (had I noticed the pricing on dessert and drink I'd have skipped) this was a pricey takeout for 2. The mezze sampler was pretty good. Nothing off, tasty dishes. Portion was OK. The falafel was fine, fresh. Mezze sampler was the best of the 3 dishes by far. I also ordered a Pidde, the namesake of the restaurant, and at $15 for what is a boat shaped pizza, sans sauce.. I didn't see the appeal. No accoutrements, no sauces, just pretty oily cheese held in with a dough boat. The restaurant is clean. There seemed to be a decent number of people at lunch time. I might consider ordering something else to see if the value might lie in another dish.. a wrap maybe?

My husband and I made a point of clearly communicating my severe nut allergy to our server. This critical information was reiterated on two subsequent occasions: first, when I opted for the salad after the tomato soup was unavailable, specifically noting the limited nut-free choices, and again, when my husband ordered the tiramisu cocktail. Given that we frequently share dishes, I inquired if the garnish on his drink contained nuts, prompting our server to verify with the bar and confirm its absence. We ordered the beef and lamb dumpling appetizer. The menu description for this item did not list any nut ingredients. Shortly after we began consuming the dish, my husband noted an unexpected crunchy texture. A query to another staff member, who then consulted our server, led to our server returning to our table and asking about my well-being. At this point, I was already experiencing a tingling sensation in my tongue, a clear indicator of an allergic reaction. When I directly asked if the dish contained nuts, our server confirmed the presence of pine nuts, responding with "I know, I'm sorry," when reminded of my previously stated allergy. This incident is profoundly disturbing. It highlights a critical lapse in the establishment's adherence to food safety protocols, specifically concerning allergen communication and staff training. The failure to accurately disclose all ingredients on your menu, coupled with the apparent disregard for my repeatedly communicated life-threatening allergy, is unacceptable and put my health, and potentially my life, at severe risk. My evening, which was intended to be a celebratory occasion, was instead marked by fear and distress. I expected a thorough investigation into this matter, a detailed explanation of the immediate and long-term steps the establishment planned to implement to rectify these deficiencies including improvements to the menu labeling practices, comprehensive and mandatory allergen awareness training for all staff, and a review of overall safety procedures to ensure such a dangerous oversight does not affect other patrons. Instead I got an email saying they would look into it and get back to me in a week. It's been almost 9 months.

The standout is truly the Jujeh sultani where you can try both chicken and ground beef kebab. Get the chicken thigh because it's jucier! Daryoush - Walnut Creek Date: October 23, 2026…read more My cousin and I had both been to Daryoush's Berkeley location before it closed in 2024, so we were excited to try the Walnut Creek location for the first time. They offer lunch specials Monday through Friday from 11am-4pm, except on holidays. The menu features a variety of Persian dishes, with prices ranging from $16.95 to $19.95. Each lunch special comes with rice, salad, and a drink. My cousin and I each ordered a lunch special for $19.95. Bakhtiari Kabob ($19.95) - One skewer of marinated filet mignon and chicken thigh. Shrimp Kabob ($19.95) - One skewer of marinated tiger shrimp with grilled onion and green peppers. Both meals came with half rice and half salad, along with a drink. The kabobs were delicious, and the portions were huge! We shared both dishes so we could try a little of everything. We also ordered Must-o-Khiar ($12), a Persian yogurt dip made with yogurt, chopped cucumbers, and mint. The yogurt was thick and creamy, and the complimentary lavash bread was perfect for dipping. A large piece of raw onion was served on the plate with butter, and we weren't sure what it was for. Our waiter explained that some customers cut the onion and wrap it in lavash bread with butter. He also mentioned that some customers don't like having raw onion on the table and kindly offered to remove it. We gladly accepted! For dessert, we ordered Makhloot ($12), a combination of half Persian ice cream and half Faludeh Shirazi. The Persian ice cream is homemade with saffron, pistachios, and rose water. Faludeh Shirazi is a refreshing Persian dessert made with icy rice noodles flavored with rose water. We enjoyed trying both desserts together. It was a nice way to finish our meal! Overall, we had a great lunch at Daryoush. The kabobs were delicious, the portions were generous, and the lunch-special prices were reasonable. I noticed that many tables were ordering from the lunch-special menu, which offers plenty of choices. We would definitely come back to try some of the other lunch specials!

So when I learned of Sipeos, featuring a plant-based Mediterranean menu, I immediately bookmarked it, and this weekend we tried it out. To be clear, since the term 'plant-based' gets muddled a lot these days, Sipeos is a vegetarian, not strictly vegan restaurant. However, they do have fully vegan options, and other selections can be modified to be vegan - yay for vegan cheese! We perused the menu, and ordered a couple of drinks, and the Under the Tuscan Sun pizza to share: mozzarella, arugula, mushrooms, and beans. Pretty tasty, but I do wish there was less dough. Props for a 100% seed oil-free menu! Their beverage program promotes low and no-alcohol cocktails, wines, and beers. Not my jam, but I understand the intention, and that's what the cool kids are into these days. It's also odd to me that mocktails are priced the same as actual cocktails, and not just here, I've noticed this trend at other places as well. But if you want to spend $14 for juice, who am I to argue? Service was good, and the ambiance was nice. May return at some point.
