When I complained about it, the employee that handled the order yelled at me, basically called me a liar, and hung up on me, even though I used a nice calm voice. I tried to reach out to the owner and didn't hear back. I simply wanted a refund. I was craving some lamb gyro, and the best that I've had is from Q's halal in Alameda. Walked into this place because Alameda is too much of a trek just for the gyro. I got exactly that - asked for a spicy lamb gyro wrap. The freshly made warm gyro wrap was just ok, and was also unfortunately very salty (probably an off-day). I still prefer the lamb gyros from Q's. For dessert, I asked for the pistachio borma. It was good, but I could tell that it wasn't fresh. Falafels were on-point. On a second visit wanting a lighter meal, I decided to only get the salads, and the dolmas. The salads here are really good. Too bad, most people don't seem to check those out. The tabouleh had the right amount of tanginess, bite and really the best that I've ever had (and I typically dislike tabouleh). The Mujaddara salad was equally tasty. Loved their dolmas which weren't crazy tangy like most other places. Same with the hummus. Their hummus version is the best that I've had in the recent past. Ambiance is fine for a sit-down meal as well (although this is only a small hole-in-the-wall place), and service was quick and efficient. My gyro craving remains unfulfilled, and this place did not deliver. But Babalou's does the salads really well and I'll go back just for the salads. read more

Got the "spicy" lamb gyro with fries and it honestly fell short. There was no spice at all, and it didn't come with any sauces, just ketchup packets, which felt off for this type of meal. The fries were meh. My husband ordered the combo plate and it was very basic with not much flavor. The interior is more of a fast food restaurant with tables lining the walls. The painted walls have murals with interesting with interesting pop culture characters. I wanted to love this place . I chose to eat here in the middle of a heat wave around 2:30 pm. Absolutely no one here -red flag # 1 except one cook and the cashier at same time might have been the owner who knows . I ordered the combo lamb/chicken wrap. It was not too big not too small. I don't now why I ordered the fries because I only ate half of them. The wrap was fresh but I was expecting something more spicy and moist. It was totally the opposite . I was thinking about asking for any type of garlicky or tzatziki sauce, hot sauce or anything to enhance the flavor of the combo wrap because he just offered ketchup packets. The tables were clean but had nothing on them. Maybe the salads and plates are their specialty because I just wasn't feeling their wrap. Positives are the inside decor, the cleanliness, affordable prices . Negative is having to find a parking spot which I did at the Wells Fargo and walked by then I have to worry I will get a parking ticket because the signs say it's only for WF bank patrons . And as you know , Walnut Creek is infamous for paid parking everywhere and meter machines everywhere you look. Let me start with the food: I got a Grilled Lamb Plate which came with a pretty good serving of grilled lamb, rice, some tomato cucumber salad, plus hummus and pita. The plate was a little small, but it was enough to fill me up. The grilled lamb was certainly the star of the show - it was bursting with so much flavors from the spices, and the meat was super tender. Upon walking in, the walls were covered with murals which looked appealing. As we ordered at the front counter, the elderly woman at the register was very kind. After we ordered, our meal took about 15 minutes to prepare. My friend ordered the Combo Plate which consists of lamb and chicken. She loved how both of the meats were well-seasoned and how the hummus had a refreshing flavor. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the Lamb Gyro. While it was delicious, there were a lot of meat and fresh veggies, so it was a bit messy to eat. But, I have no complaints about the quantity and quality of their food! Secondly, I loved the selection of beverages that they offered. So, I chose the Gopi Mango Lassi in a bottle. I love how it wasn't too sweet and tasted like a yogurt drink with slight tartness.
