Food was a bit salty. Customer service was typical gen Z attitude. Price pretty average. Overall clean atmosphere. No public restrooms. Not bad but not great - I've had better food and service at food trucks

    Way smaller portions now

Avoid. Food portions are now twice as small. Shift leader "Yu" told me this is how they do things now when salad fillers are left out, except my salads were small too... I've been coming here nearly weekly for the past year, usually getting the schwarma bowls. They used to have generous portions, easily filling the bowl past the brim and into the plastic covering. Today, I ordered delivery of the same bowl I've been buying for the past year, and on receiving. I first thought the driver had eaten half of my food, but it had no evidence of tampering. I quickly took pictures, and then called the restaurant to ask for a supervisor. Someone named "Yu" came on the phone to inform me no supervisors were there, and then after I'd asked why the portions were dramatically less, he said the owner had told him to only put one scoop of protein into the bowl when salads couldn't be used as fillers. The problem.is, I DID order couscous couscous salad, and that was twice as small, and I also ordered hummus, and that was twice as small. So it wasn't just the chicken protein serving that was small. They had literally shrank every part of the bowl, to the point where I wouldn't have paid 18 bucks (23 dollars to have it delivered) had I known they were now shrinking portions sizes.

The pita bowl was a huge hit for our starving group. Tons of options and generous portions. The staff (Vanessa) was very helpful and took care of our entire order. A great value for the money, just be sure to order a couple extra pita.

Food is quite decent for the on-the-go lunch/break hour traveler/worker. Happy there was a healthier, affordable option for a student-like of me. Service was quick, attentive. Ambiance was wide open as I came on a random Monday prior to dinner time.

I will definitely make sure to visit again when I'm in town. -------------- If you want to read my story of how and why I tried this place, read more here: I walked by this place while my car was getting an oil change. They had a sign that said in big letters, "HUNGRY? We can fix that!" Like Winnie the Pooh, I checked in with my stomach and answered yes! I was famished. I had brought my lunch with me but left it in the car while it was getting the oil changed, so I had nothing to nibble on. It was kind of early, maybe 10 AM, and I didn't even think they would be open, but then I realized they did have the sign outside on the sidewalk. I walked by the front door and it opened automatically. My heart started to flutter. So I went to look at their menu online and saw that they had chicken shawarma bowls. I love chicken shawarma. I decided to look them up on Yelp and make sure they had good reviews. I realized that they were a sponsored ad, and that gave me pause. The last time I went to a Middle Eastern restaurant that was sponsored, it was not so great, so I quickly checked the reviews. They have pretty good reviews! One review said that the chicken was dry, but others were more positive. I had a really good feeling, so I ordered it. Another reviewer commented that the rice was so good -- and they're not normally a rice enthusiast -- so when I placed my order, I upgraded my rice from the white rice that comes with the order to the rice infused with turmeric and garbanzo beans. When I opened my order, the bowl was a pretty decent size. If my husband had been with me, we probably would've been able to split it. In my order, I saw: * Seasoned chicken drizzled with shawarma and a delicious white sauce. * Hummus * Tomato cucumber salad * And this yellow turmeric rice I couldn't resist -- the rice was the first thing I tasted, and it was delicious! I can't quite figure out what flavors are in there, but I could taste a hint of cinnamon, and there were definitely other flavors there. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The hummus could very easily be the best hummus I've ever had. I really enjoyed this meal. I really wanted to eat the entire bowl myself but decided to save half of it for my daughter, who I know will also love it. Customer service was excellent. Adam was at the counter and greeted me very warmly. And when I was leaving, they asked me if I wanted hot sauce and then they put that in the bag. Overall, I give this five stars. I love that the food comes in an eco-friendly container. If there's anything that I could change, it's probably that they put it in a plastic bag instead of a paper bag. I try to avoid plastic as much as possible, but the container was quite big and needed to be in a bag while I hiked back to the oil change place. Oh, and before I forget... one of the first things I asked before I ordered is if the shawarma plate was gluten-free, and he assured me that everything in it was unless I was getting pita. And one more fun note -- when I got back to the car place, someone walked in, saw my food, and immediately asked, "Oh, is that from Manakish?" I was pretty impressed they could recognize it just by the look, especially since the restaurant is about half a mile away. Oh...and when i gave it to my daughter...she loved it so it gets two thumbs up!!

Good news is the sides have been pretty consistent and have been tasty, notably their rice, hummus (yum!), and tomato cucumber salad. Their chicken kebabs have been a kids fave (just a lil dry for me), so yay for that. Their kefta kebabs usually come with 4 lil ones so it's a bit on the pricier end for their plates, but recently it's been globs of salty mess as if some binding ingredient(s) were forgotten or something. Not sure what happened, but the pita bread for the plate to go was covering the "kebabs" so unsure if it was intentional for them to hide that. Their version of fries have been a favorite within the fam, but recently, the chicken on has been so off that I had to spit it out, worrying that I'd def get food poisoning or something. It tasted so off. The fries and cheese on them were great though. Been to Manakish for takeout many times, but my recent experiences pushes me to find another spot for this type of food. They do have good variety here, including kebab salads, wraps, falafel, beverages, etc.

I got exactly that - asked for a spicy lamb gyro wrap. The freshly made warm gyro wrap was just ok, and was also unfortunately very salty (probably an off-day). I still prefer the lamb gyros from Q's. For dessert, I asked for the pistachio borma. It was good, but I could tell that it wasn't fresh. Falafels were on-point. On a second visit wanting a lighter meal, I decided to only get the salads, and the dolmas. The salads here are really good. Too bad, most people don't seem to check those out. The tabouleh had the right amount of tanginess, bite and really the best that I've ever had (and I typically dislike tabouleh). The Mujaddara salad was equally tasty. Loved their dolmas which weren't crazy tangy like most other places. Same with the hummus. Their hummus version is the best that I've had in the recent past. Ambiance is fine for a sit-down meal as well (although this is only a small hole-in-the-wall place), and service was quick and efficient. My gyro craving remains unfulfilled, and this place did not deliver. But Babalou's does the salads really well and I'll go back just for the salads.

I got the Chicken Platter ($18.99) It came with rice, chicken, salad, humus, 4 triangle pita bread and extra tzatziki sauce on the side. The first thing I noticed right away was that they love their sumac here. I don't mind it at all and the more sumac the better I think. The rice is really fluffy and pairs really well with the chicken. With the tzatziki sauce drizzled on top and extra to add on each bite, it's a great combo wombo of flavor. The hummus is really good too! It is not watery like some places and holds its shape well. Went great with the rice/chicken, with pita or even by itself! Salad was just mix of greens, tomatos, cucmbers with some cheese crumble. No olive oil or vinegar was added so I had to spread some tzatziki to give it a little boost. Overall the dish was really delicious. I would recommend to come here if you like Mediterranian food. Interested in their falafal and would likely get that next time. We came in on a weekday for the lunch special and I was excited to see it was still on the menu. I ordered the vegan beef koobideh and added a vegan chicken koobideh for $5. The lunch special comes with half rice, half salad, plus a drink. I chose the iced tea and it was really refreshing. For an appetizer, I had my must-have mast-o-musir (shallot yogurt). They also bring out butter and half a raw onion, which I always thought was random until I asked my Persian coworker how you're actually supposed to eat it. Turns out the butter is meant to be mixed into the warm rice so it melts, and the onion is used as a palate cleanser. You peel off a small piece and take a bite between eating your rice and protein. Once you know, it totally makes sense. Between the two koobidehs, the vegan beef was the clear winner. It was flavorful and honestly didn't taste like fake meat at all. The vegan chicken was good, but you can slightly taste that Impossible-style meat flavor. Next time, I'll definitely just get two beef koobidehs. Overall, I'm really glad I came back. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the lamb chops were soft, succulent, and didn't taste gamey at all. You can really taste the charcoal flame on the meats, which added so much depth without overpowering the dishes. The flavors were subtle and balanced, with hints of saffron throughout, especially in the rice. They also have a good selection of vegan options, which is nice to see.
