It's…read moregot to be one of the funnest stores on earth. :) But I bought two tubes of glue on one visit and the glue in one of them was thick/defective. I live in FDL and didn't want to drive all the way to the store to return the glue, so I called the Manager to see what could be done. He was very, very accommodating, friendly and understanding, and said I could return the glue anytime I was in Oshkosh when it was convenient for me without worrying about when that would be. He gave me his name and told me to use it if there was any problem. FINALLY, a company who cares about its customers!!! That seems so rare these days. I love everything about Hobby Lobby and I'm so happy they recently opened a brand new store in Fond du Lac. In my experience, this is a really great company with really fun products that they stand behind. Thanks Hobby Lobby!

I have political differences with Hobby Lobby, so despite its convenient location to my house, I…read morewould normally never shop here. However, I was stressed out and did not want to drive to Appleton just to buy a coloring book and some pencils (see: stressed out), so I ventured in. The store is HUGE, and has an ugly warehouse feel. They have every kind of craft item you can imagine (and some you can't), as well as a hefty dose of kitschy home decor stuff. The aisles didn't have signs that I could find, so I had to peer down each one to figure out if I was in the right neighborhood. I did find what I was looking for, though I was alarmed to see children playing with merchandise in the next aisle and eventually heard their parents prompting them to "clean up." I didn't realize this was a toy store... The kicker was that, as I approached the register, a cashier was asking her manager if she could leave, despite the fact that she was open and I was standing there with two items. She chuckled to me not to take it personally, haha, etc., but it kind of turned me off. The card reader also didn't work right, and I eventually had to slide my card the opposite way the arrows indicated. So I wouldn't usually come here, and my experience did nothing to change that. So long, Hobby Lobby.

The colors and inviting sales.. I was struck. Something about discounted home goods just piques curiosity. Found an inexpensive folding step stool (needed this), Everything but the bagel jalapeños style. Didn't need that but wanted it. $3.99. Also picked up some British made Easter chocolates for the nieces and some unnecessary condiments for the pantry. One of them, assorted colored jalapenos in vinegar. No bueno.. I wonder how long that jar had been sitting, the texture of the jalapenos is yucky. But the rest, the rest was grand! Had I, more space in the boot, would have left with more items.. Maybe next time I'm in the area. When checking out, make sure to try the hand sanitizer next to their registers. Comes off the hands quickly. Though the smell is difficult to recognize. It contains so many unique smells. I was tempted to buy a bottle just for the gimmick of it. Smelled like juniper, cumin, lemongrass and maybe garlic too? Funny stuff.

I went in looking for a particular part, and noticed all the similar looking carburetors on the counter. I asked the parts service person for any tips. He took one apart and showed me specifically to look for and clean out two holes (one being VERY tiny) on the needle valve. After searching, I found it and cleaned it out, and it started up right away! There is nothing like that kind of service at the box stores -- especially for small engine repair.

Just past these doors supposedly was a garage. I found some helpers, instead. They told me that the front clerk had assumed I was looking for a lawnmower sharpening. We went back to the front cashier, and they pointed out to her that it was a hand tool, not a machine, and that it was right there at the tips of her fingers. She assumed the wrong service I had come for. She also assumed, I guess, that with gray hair and a frumpy dress, that I was part senile. She was really breezy when she did not take the time to properly ID my item. She was really apologetic after her coworkers did her job for her. It's the attitude and the assumptions that got to me. One thing I like about Kwik Trip stores is the ability to grab a quick hotdog on the go. However, I cannot count on that from this location and because of this petty pet-peeve of mine, I usually avoid this location altogether. One would think that going in for a visit anywhere between 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, one could easily find all of the food items ready to go in preparation for those seeking lunch quickly on the go. Not here. The hotdog warmer is usually empty more often than not and I find it a big disappointment. But I will say this, if you are unlike most and like those deep-fried chicken thingys found on a roller warmer next to the hotdogs, you'll be in luck. There are plenty of those rolling back-and-forth for several hours on end. The other stores in the area have their stuff together much more and I drive out of my way to visit one of them.
