Take your familyanimals somewhere else, and get treated like a respected patron. I booked a boarding stay past the 10 day cancellation policy and needed to cancel due to my work trip being cancelled. I respectfully requested a cancellation one time forgiveness ( 8 day notice) and was met with a hard no, no way, not gonna happen response. I asked if we could possibly meet in the middle since it would have cost me $700 to board when it was no longer needed.The response was no, we have a 10 day cancellation policy and then ranted about paying the staff. Long time Pickles Playland fan and even more so now - didn't think it was possible to love a local business so much. My pup, Chewbarka, has been with Pickles since he was a puppy, about six years - they are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, caring and all around just the best. The daycare is amazing and Chewbarka is always excited when we arrive - never a backward look. I was recently hospitalized during an extended road trip and with a call, the amazing folks at Pickles came to my puppers rescue taking him in for boarding with no notice just before a planned holiday weekend closure! My 1 year-old pug Captain has been coming here DAILY for daycare since he was a few months old (I work from home and he's a SUPER hyper dog -- so he needs to run all day!). It's a second home to him, and everyone treats us like family. His older fawn pug sister, Lulabelle, also comes quite often and loves it just as much! I've had zero issues here -- nothing but loving kindness for my dogs. Also, Captain is a barky, reactive dog outside of daycare (we're working on it!) so if you have a reactive pup, don't let that stop you from trying Pickles. Please take the time to read the other 1-star and 3-star reviews on this business, as my experience is a carbon copy of those reviews. Suffice it to say that the groomer who tried to groom my 9-year-old rescued Yorkie Poo could not complete the job and blamed the dog. Reggie had been groomed successfully by four other groomers over the years and has played with dogs in two other commercial doggie daycares. I don't do business with people who blame their customers for their failings. After I left with my dog, the owner wrote an angry email for even questioning the groomer's abilities and removed me from her customer list without discussion. I'm sure she will respond with her own story about what happened, so make sure you read how similar my encounter with this place is to the other 1-star and 3-star reviews on Yelp. My then 5 month old toy poodle Tandy really, really loved this place! This was her first daycare and we couldnt have asked for a better experience. I came across Pickle's when was looking for a daycare for my new puppy. We visited a few places but weren't wowed until we found Pickle's. Space: Right away I noticed the facility is much, much cleaner than the other places. There was no stinky smell and the lobby and playroom were so spotless I could walk barefoot there. It was amazing how clean they've kept this place, which was definitely the main reason I trusted them to be my puppy's first daycare. Daycare: My dog used to be very shy. We had taken her to some puppy social with little improvement so I wasn't sure if she would get overwhelmed at a daycare. A few hours after dropping her off on her first day I received a voicemail saying she definitely warmed up, was playing and jumping around. I couldn't be happier knowing she was having such a good time, and that the staffs monitoring the interaction among their dogs, which leads me to my ext point. Staff: They couldn't be more helpful, attentive, and patient. I could tell they genuinely loved being around dogs. They even walk the dogs for you and keep track of whether they have gone number 1 and 2. They definitely set high standards for doggie daycare experience (we've tried a few other places and so far none has come close!). They were willing to adapt to accommodate your dog's schedule or special needs, which I thought was very kind of them. Misc: In the beginning we had some problems with the payment and the credit card somehow got charged 3 times, but we were able to resolve the issue with the credit card company promptly. I would recommend this place to ANYONE who has a small-mid sized dog and is looking for an amazing daycare experience. Dropped my labradoodle for grooming and I was shocked to see how they groomed my pet. I followed their instructions and sent a picture of a labradoodle for style reference and expected to have similar style for my pet. In turn, they ended up literally shaving him and also cut is eyebrows and eye lashes. I have never seen this kind of unskilled professional in this field. When I called them back and expressed my dissatisfaction and feelings (because I was genuinely hurt), they cared less and hung up on me. I called back and they never answered my calls nor did they returned my calls. Super unprofessional and they neither care about the pet nor their owners. As a business owner the first thing they need to learn is to listen to their customer's concerns. This clearly did not happen in their case. This is my first negative review on Yelp as I always believe "to err is human", but not acknowledging it and not feeling apologetic is being rude and cocky. i took my dog here for a bath, and when I came to pick her up her face was still dirty. Even the employee who handed her to me noted it and picked a few eye boogers out before handing my dog back to me. Also, when I asked to see the grooming area they said I needed to schedule a tour. I understand not wanting random people to bother dogs already there, but since they groom behind walls instead of in front of a window, it seemed a little weird to not allow me to have a peek. If I could give this amazing, magical doggy kingdom a 500 star I would. They take care of Gia like she is their own pup. Gia used to be afraid to be around other dogs and now she doesnt even look back when I drop her. Gia is a bit needy and they never make me feel badly. Their motto is accurate your dog will not come home smelling like pee. I receive pictures at the end of every visit showing different times of the day. When Gia arrives home, yes by Pickles transport she feels and smells like she was freshly groomed. This is a very weird business. After reading these reviews I see other people have also experienced the owner blaming them for the issues they had. I did not have a good experience with the staff, especially the owner. My dog enjoyed coming here, however he is a dog and would be happy anywhere he can play. They double charged my credit card and wouldn't give my dog a bath after trying to schedule it twice. The owner asked me not to come back because they felt I was "angry" at them. I'm not sure they understand what it means to work in customer service, because I was never angry. Even when they blamed me for my card being charged twice and claimed I didn't schedule my dogs baths. I scheduled them, one online and when that didn't happen I scheduled it in person. I highly recommend visiting Dogtopia in Redmond. They actually take care of their clients and dogs. And I can guarantee they wont kick you out or blame you when there are issues. We got a new puppy (mini aussie) in October. She was already five months old and had not been socialized, so we knew that socializing her was a top priority. Since we live in a townhome, we also wanted her to get time to play with other dogs. I visited all the other doggy daycares, hoping to find a place where I would feel comfortable leaving my puppy. They felt like warehouses, with dogs crowding the gates and constant barking. I felt overstimulated almost instantly, so I can't even imagine how my dog would have felt. Then I found Pickles and it was like a goddamn miracle. No concrete floors. Happy people working there. Regular potty breaks for the dogs. The boys wear belly bands so the dogs don't smell like pee when they get home. Quiet times, but no forced kennel times - your dog wants to snuggle a human on a bed? Cool, they've got you covered. Your dog wants to lay on the floor with his pals? He can do that! Every last bit of Pickles is well thought out and designed, from the multiple doors for security to the lavender room, where calming lavender is misted into the air for dogs who need a break. Staff are well trained and able to interpret dog behavior and respond as necessary. Plus, they send you pictures at the end of every day. Our dog went from scared and worried to happy and outgoing. She has learned how to play with toys with other dogs, how to share when treats are handed out, how to sit before a door or gate gets opened. Pickles treated our dog like their own and it shows with how excited Penny gets when we arrive in the parking lot. Pickles also does birthday parties which are super fun, training classes (oh my gosh, the trainer is wonderful! We have worked with her and love her!!), puppy socials (where your pup can get socialized with a trainer present to make sure nobody gets overwhelmed) and wine tastings. The building looks like nothing when you drive past it, but for reals, it's a doggy heaven in there. My teenager wishes it wasn't a bar so that she could attend a puppy social, but I have to say that my husband also enjoyed a beer (at 11am?! Honey, really?) at the last puppy social so there upsides to that. Hands down, Pickles is the best doggy daycare I have found, especially for smaller pups. Had a lovely time visiting for the Woof and Wine event. Facility is lovely and very clean, staff is pleasant and engaging. This place is geared more toward smaller dogs, but they were perfectly welcoming to our giant breed and offered him plenty of snuggles and scratches. I was first attracted by the "indoor dog park/beer+wine lounge" because there's not enough of those, especially on the east side. Unfortunately the Lounge is only open on the weekends, but I'll forgive that for how awesome the place is for everything else. The fact that they're "Members Only" for all dogs going there for anything at all and that membership requires a temperament test means that I can be fully at ease knowing that I can drop my pup off for a few hours and that the chances of him getting hurt, harassed, or bullied are significantly lower than most other walk-in daycares. All of the dogs are so sweet, even the ones who are a little more energetic than others. Nikki and the rest of the Pickles Team are just fantastic as well. Everyone is so excited to see my pup when I bring him in, and I love getting photos from them when I leave him there for daycare so I can see how much of a blast he's having. Finally, I really appreciate that they're open early in the morning, for commuters that need to be at work earlier than 9am but still want access to daycare services. I haven't used their pick-up/drop-off services yet, but if I ever do I'll update my review with my experience! read more

Our smallish dog does so well here, and the staff are very helpful! We took our boy to another place in the area, but they let the larger dogs come into where the smaller dogs were supposed to be. After getting my puppy I struggled to find a place for puppy play and daycare and then after finding a couple options they did not feel welcoming, and they were all about rules first before finding anything out about what I needed. Then I found Pickles Playland! I could ask questions and they truly seemed to want Louie to come give it a try. After going to puppy play and also daycare, I also engaged Nikki for 5 private training sessions. She was super encouraging and reassuring and took videos of her sessions with Louie so I could replicate her training. I absolutely love the staff and all the services they have to offer. Not only is this the perfect place for your pup to socialize they offer puphour Saturday, training, boarding, grooming, and walks! I've been bringing my Juneau here since October 2020 when I just got him at 8 weeks old. I never not even once ever felt uneasy or uncomfortable. They send you pictures at the end of each visit so you can see all the fun your pup had at their version of six flags/ Disneyland. They are also always so incredibly patient with all the questions you may have and I have a lot cause anxiety and they never make you feel dumb or crazy for asking questions. Below I'll go into detail on all the services I've used... (all) First up, Daycare -- my pup enjoys sometimes half days or full days at the daycare and I have 0 worries if he's being treated correctly. All the pups there are super friendly because they do behavioral tests to make sure that the pup and pickles playland is a match. I never have to be stressed if my boy will get beaten up or anything like that. Grooming -- Kylie grooms my goldendoodle pup into perfection. I take him once a month on the dot to get him groomed. She knows exactly what I want and how I want it and does everything I want but better. She is also super communicative and calls me to let me know what is happening and sends photos of his new lewk. Super thankful for that. Walks -- Abby started taking my pup out for walks since he was 11 weeks old. She taught him manners and how to behave while out on walks and how to be a proper gentle pup on the leash. She is always the perfect communicator and lets me know what's going on and sends me photos and an email at the end of the day where I can see what he did and what areas we can improve on. Boarding -- I've only had to use this service once and I can tell my Junebug felt right at home. They communicated with me what he was doing and even sent me pictures. Training -- Nikki is giving Juneau his formal training to whip him into shape because despite the awesome walks with Abby he's a teenager now who likes to rebel. But also to be honest I'm a little bit of a pushover and he has his way. So not only does he get trained but I am also getting trained on how to be a better pawrent to Juneau. We have gotten stopped mid walk on not even 2 days of training to be complimented on how well behaved my boy is and how much he's changed and they always assume he's had at least a month of formal training and when I tell them it's only been 2 days they're always shocked that's how good Nikki is at training pups and parents. Juneau and I are closer than ever because of this and whatever puppy blues I may have had are long gone. If you need help Nikki is the one to go with because she will help you understand in a constructive way on what you as a parent can do. Juneau used to lunge at other pups because he's an overly excited greeter not anymore. He hated his crate not anymore. He used to bark and pull on her he leash not anymore. She's a miracle worker. We love them as they are so professional, knowledgeable, kind, and caring. We felt so welcomed there. We have also been having training sessions with Nikki. Our new puppy is a very cute but sassy potato (corgi-you know). Nikki is the magic for him. He learned how to sit, lay down, and tons of other tricks really quickly. I have had a completely I have had a completely disappointing experience this week with Pickles Playland. I called the day after the grand opening after seeing the event and it looked so awesome. I was told that I could drop off my dog only through the week for daycare and she can come play on the weekend even if they were having parties. ThenI looked at their website and it said small dogs only on one place and in another place it said all size dogs welcomed. I called back to confirm that my dog can come with me and my family this weekend even though she's 40lb. The response was yes. It's my dog's birthday today, we brought her to Pickles Playland and we're told it's 21 and over after we've rally the kids to come to here with our dog Pumpkin for her first birthday. Then we're told we have to fill out the paperwork and the kids can't come in. I completely understand we have to have all of our shots but it's not listed on our vaccination sheet when our next vaccines are due. That was a problem they didn't want the dates that our dog had the shots they wanted when the next dates were due. I mentioned that I should have waited until they are ironed out all their opening kinks before trying Pickles and Playland and they said actually they've been open since July. Sad. My dog then spits up in their waiting area. I think the universe was trying to tell us the Pickles Playland is not the place for us. Overall the best choice among 5 different daycares/sitters we tried in eastside! My 16-month old Mini Aussie has been regularly going to Pickles Playland for 10 months. This place is exceptionally good because: (1) They take the doggies out for potty walks. My dog smells much better compared to when she goes to other big daycare where doggies just do their business in the play area. (2) Structured activities with nap time. My dog is always in a relaxed mood at pick up time. Instead, at another daycare, it is reported that she barks when other doggies start leaving until I pick up her, so I believe structured schedule helps resolving my dog's anxiety problem. (3) Pictures every time. Lots of cute photos of my dog playing with humans and dogs. (4) Free pick up and drop up. We are lucky to live within 6 miles, so we can use this service when necessary! read more

Our little one (Rubes) absolutely loves coming to Pickles. As we pull into the parking lot she rushes for the door. She has several regular buddies here. The staff is excellent. The dogs are taken on regular bathroom breaks and they alternate play and rest times. They have an excellent online system that updates with photos during each stay. Pickle's Playland is an amazing place that takes such great care of my Lucy. She absolutely loves going there to see her friends both hooman and canine alike.
