I'm a regular buyer at least 4-5 times a month I buy parts-tires-batteries since I own my shop. For once I had to return some parts since I no longer needed them these guys gave me a hard to get a refund because I didn't have my receipt on me but I had pictures as proof for convenience but theres one bitch that gave me pain in ass made me drive one hour to go bring my receipt. This is the grand-daddy of the Pick-n-Pull's; the first one in the chain and easily one of the largest. $2 to get in, find the part you want, wrench it off, and trek back to the entrance to pay for it. Being the Central Valley, this isn't the place to be if you're looking for a late model European car for example, but in that regard it's still better than nearly all of the other valley PNP's due to the sheer size of the place. Staff are some of the most friendly and helpful I've encountered at a self-service yard like this. Can't beat the ambiance of the Wat Dharmararam Buddhist Temple behind the northwest corner of the yard as well. read more

I can imagine the marketing team for this place sitting around a dingy room and asking "how can we make our customers hate us even more?" ... Well, lets start with a 10% "environmental fee." Yeah that's right, they're passing on a normal operating expenses to you in the form of a fee. Awesome! === Hows about core fees on nearly everything! === Returns are limited to "store credit only." Do they ever wonder why their customers so carelessly toss picked parts around or destroy parts getting to others. Could it be they feel F'd over by this place? === When you look up pricing online, there are no clickable links to show images of what they're talking about. So if you're say looking at a bumper, they show two types with nothing to distinguish them, except two codes P117-P and P117. But of course, when you're checking out, clerks can actually pull up the same price list and website, except miraculously, they can click on the items and see example pictures!! How convenient (FOR THEM)! === Premiere Yards (hold on, lemme get back on my chair now that I've stopped laughing). Basically seems to be the same yard with the name "premiere" attached to it, except premiere actually seems to mean "bend over." At a bend over yard, they charge 15-30% more than the other yard. And the real kicker is that their core fees go up too! That's right just because you pull a part from a car that's sitting on a bend over lot, you win a higher core fee! === CORE Part Returns? The clerks tend to ask things like "do you want that door and the door handle too?" ... Then, when you say "no, I don't want to pay ten times what a door handle is worth new," you wind up taking off the door handle. ... And you can pretty much just huck it back into the yard anywhere, they literally don't care. You could smash it into little pieces and laugh while you're doing it, and they'd just keep ringing everything up. It gets dumber, five minutes later when you come back with your core door for a refund, you have to take the same handle off to give it back to yourself, yeah that makes a lot of sense. But wait it gets dumber, the clerks refund you your core, and no matter how many items you have, they give you ONE item tag and tell you to attach it to the first item they can remember the name of. Then, they ask YOU to huff THEIR newly acquired core items to a dumpster. Who's working for whom? The irony, you can buy a hard to find mercedes door, bring in the hard to find core door and it winds up in a dumpster with an old engine dropped on top of it! === There's an admission fee, AND (yep, you guessed it) an "admission fee tax" stated as a separate line item. Is this an auto parts seller or a county fair? If it's the later, I at least want some popcorn and a few washed up musicians playing power ballads on top of rusted out Buicks. === There's no way to use their dollies to wheel your parts all the way out to your car, but in their own cracked out logic, they let you wheel your cart past the check-the-receipt person straight into a barricade (ten feet away). Imagine going to the grocery store and the clerk says "have a nice day!" and your cart crashes into a barricade before you hit the exit. You then are forced to leave your parts up for grabs while you make multiple trips to your vehicle. Wow the thinkers at this place! === "Toolkit" Program? Completely vague info given online (almost like their legal team asked them not to post anything there). === They do not answer their phones very often (go figure). Good luck! Went there to get parts. Overheard an employee who didn't seem to be in charge, being extremely condescending and overtly racist. A white female with colored hair was being rude to the other employee woman that was helping me. Why would you make the decision to talk down to someone over a Sharpie? In front of customers? Horrible business sense. I will not ever be going back to this location. read more

I've been coming here for roughly 25 years, and yes you CAN find what your looking for but only if you go religiously and during the week. Bring your own tools, some old clothes, and be prepared for a therapeutic experience. read more

They may have the car your looking for but the part you want may not be on it or it may be damaged. The part you pull may not be in working condition you have to figure that out on your own. You pay a $2 non refundable fee to go on a Easter Egg Hunt. This place is not for everyone, I've had mixed results. Someone at corporate thought hand washing stations was a good idea, I agree. The local manager thinks not so four wash stations sit in disrepair, unusable and collecting trash. read more

My first time to go; two dollars entrance fee. Please wear comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty on. The most important thing is BYOT (Bring Your Own Tools) and know what you want beforehand. Great savings! As customer A pointed out, take a look at your receipt,they tax you on core charges,also they tax you on environmental surcharge, how is it they tax an item that doesn't exist ?so everytime you go through the gate your getting banged , oh and if you bring a core back they don't give you the tax back that you shouldn't have been taxed on in the first place,I wonder if the IRS knows about this? Again I say study your receipt they're putting the screws everybody that goes out that gate! read more

I dunno why you would say they are so great, they are very simular in regard to bad treatment of loyal customers, in a simular manner to the Modesto PNP yard. This last couple of weeks, I bought a seat. I paid 30 something dollars for it. It wasn't a match to my interior , so I went back to exchange it under their so-called warranty program. They wrote me an exhange slip, and I went out to the yard to get another. They didn't have a matching seat, so I just went to get it credited out so I could use the credit later on.. Which wasn't a problem. The problem was, they were having a $14.99 seat special when I was there and they insisted I am only going to get $14.99 credit, despite the receipt saying I paid TWICE as much for the same item just 2 days earlier. Despite me pointing out that they were trying to take away 1/2 of the money I was due for credit, they didn't give a damn. It was like as if they were getting off on doing this to a loyal customer. I felt, what could I do, keep a seat that I can't use, or get the $14.99 credit slip . So I got the credit slip, making a note to not make a mistake like that again. I did find a seat at the Merced PNP yard that matched my interior 100%, while it was still half price so it worked out OKAY , but still I don't think that is right at all for them to take 1/2 of the money I paid them for the first seat. Not thinking much of what happened last week, I returned to Stockton PNP this morning, to get some strut inserts for a Volvo. I went in, disassembled the strut assemblies, removed the strut shock absorbers from the strut assemblies and went to check out and pay for them. They wanted to charge me $34.99 for each strut insert. They said I had to pay this because you can't remove a strut from the assembly , and they were going to charge me for the full strut assembly price instead. A strut assembly includes strut tube, the spring, the mount, the whole works. Here i was standing with two removed strut inserts , and they were telling me this , and that you can't remove the shocks from them. I couldn't believe it. Despite me trying to explain that I had two shock absorbers it was just more of the same sort of treatment in a simular vain as last week with that seat. I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere, and realize I just wasted a morning doing this. I have bought several strut shock abosrbers this way from the Modesto yard, Rancho Yard, Merced Yard, and each place charged me the regular shock absorber price. Needless to say, I got nowhere with them today and I left the strut inserts on the counter. Why would I buy these USED PARTS, when I can go buy BRAND NEW ONES for $11.00 a piece more! Which is what I did. If they think they can just gouge each customer , trying to get max profit it won't work we aren't IDIOTS , we GOTO THEIR YARDS, PULL THE PARTS OURSELVES on their USED PARTS . I go there trying to save some hard earned money. NOT PAY NEAR, OR FULL RETAIL FOR USED PARTS THAT I PULL MYSELF! I now know, though Stockton is a yard I shall avoid from this point on. In fact, I will be avoiding all PNP's from this point on when it comes to maintanence parts. You can just buy new for the same price or even less in some cases these days. You can get ahead sometimes by gambling and buying a transmission or engine but that's alot work (and time) to gamble like that too on an part they have no idea or you have no idea is good. I been goign to pick n pull since 1990, so I am not some newbie here. You can't treat a paying customer like dirt, make up your own rules as they do at this yard. They will go away, just like I did. read more

I had a car stolen in Sacramento and was checking inventories of the local Pick-n-Pulls to see if any that matched the make, model & year had come in after mine was stolen; they listed two, so I called to see if they would check the vin #'s on them just to be safe. The Sacramento Pick-n-Pull had no problem doing this for me, but apparently in Stockton they just don't care. The woman I spoke to on the phone blatantly refused and told me I could come down to check for myself, for which they would charge me admission of course! Even if I were willing to do so, I live and work in Sacramento and can't make it down there before they close, so that's not an option. I explained this to the woman on the phone, but she was extremely unsympathetic and unhelpful - all she said was "We don't take no stolen cars, but you can come look for yourself." Very very rude and not at all what I was expecting after the people at the Sacramento location were so nice about it. read more

went there today got charged 350.00 for transmission and transfer case. lady that helped at sales counter was rude as hell too... extreme high price for treatment like this. guy when i was walking out told me pick n pull just bought his buddies truck for 500. i paid 350 for just the transmission and t-case. never again i try my local ma and pa stores, at least they smile when they take my hard earned money read more
