Big shout out to the asst manager, Katie! In spite of it being a very hot day, she took extra time to try to help change a low-beam headlight for a disabled senior. The bulb wouldn't come out the way it should have, so she checked YouTube. Yep, that's how it should be changed, but something inside the tight space wasn't allowing the old bulb to come out. She stated she really wanted to help, but didn't want to risk breaking anything. So Katie recommended we buy the bulb & take it to a shop, Jack's Transmission, whom she's known personally for a long time. Jack had to work at it too, but got it changed out & only charged a nominal price for it. All this after the local Midas had both quoted an overcharged amount for the bulb (almost double) AND $360 in labor! An obvious & obscene way to try to take advantage of a disabled senior! I got to the store no more then 15 minutes later and was told they didn't have it. Called Saturday morning to put a battery on hold, later that day they told me they sold the last one and don't have the battery anymore and there was never a hold put in place. Called Sunday morning to place another hold after checking the website and seeing they still had the battery in stock. Once again they told me there never was a hold but luckily they had the battery. Both times I called they said they put in batteries but in person was told no. If you want to spend a half hour on hold to be told wrong information, try this place. read more

We stopped by to buy front light bulb for my Kia Soul. Asked sales person to let us know which one we need. However friend I was with, tried to replace it for me later and told me they sold us wrong light. I had to go back to store next morning and explained this new sales person Justin , what happened. He not only confirmed it was right light but also replaced it for me right there. Despite being so cold outside he patiently took his time, and kindly helped me. Needed to replace my windshield wipers ASAP in anticipation of a major rainstorm in the next couple of days. This is the first time that I've had to replace them and so I was unsure of what to get. Hector D. was very attentive and helpful in getting the right size and price range for my wipers. What I was most impressed with and appreciative of was Hector walking right out the door with me and replacing the old wipers with the new ones right on the spot. My check engine light came on a couple days ago. I was told Autozone checks it for free. So i go in today and let them know I need it. I had a gal come and help me. She told me that she will not do the testing that I had to do it. At first i was like uh ok.... so i start to do it and can't figure it out. I ask her for help and all she tells me is she can't do it. Over and over again. I still can't get the stupid thing figured out so now I'm pissed. I will not be coming back here. I don't understand why you offer something when you physically cannot do it because of a law!!! Do not offer something if you can't do it! Just a bummer cause i love coming her and getting the help I need. But one time can ruin it all! read more

This review is warranted due to the service (or lack thereof) provided by the so-called manager Andrew. Today, my dad I went to replace the break shoes and brake pads for my car. Prior to our visit, my called the store in which an associate told him that the replacement for these parts for normal wear and tear is covered under the Lifetime Warranty and that the parts we were seeking would be placed on hold. Upon arrival, we spoke with Andrew and we're immediately met with a dismissive, rude attitude. My dad explained he called previously and was told the brake shoes and pads are covered under warranty to which Andrew replied that they are not covered because the are covered by a "Limited Lifetime Warranty" and must exhibit damages such as cracks. My dad told him he was told differently by one of his employees. Andrew dismissed this notion as he remained adamant failing to even look to the computer to review the policy. Furthermore, after checking the computer it was revealed that the parts were not placed on hold as no record was held under my dad's name. My dad inquired as to whether Andrew, as the manager, could possibly look into who may have taken his call to which he declined also in a dismissive manner. This so-called manager lacked the professionalism to even look either one of us in the eyes or make any attempt to rectify the situation despite the labor we had already done to remove the brake shoes and brake pads. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable from any employee, let alone a manager. After this interaction, we called another Autozone who then provided us with the same information as my dad was previously told in which the brake shoes and brake pads WERE indeed covered by a Lifetime Warranty. After driving from Manteca to Stockton we were eventually provided with the parts at no cost as covered by the warranty that should have been supplied to us in the first place had it not been for the incompetence and lack of motivation displayed by Andrew. This man should be ashamed of himself for failing to do his diligence or even display any sort of decency with regards to customer service. Given his demeanor we experienced, however, I doubt any criticism will phase him in the least. ONE STAR for terrible customer service, rude demeanor, dismissive attitude, and all-around ignorance from the one employee who should be looking to represent the store in its entirety. I can not say enough about the excellent customer service at this Autozone. Not only are the people friendly and courteous, they are so helpful. I needed a new bulb in my headlight, as well as wiper blades. A gentleman was kind enough to install both for me. There was no charge, and he was as kind as could be. I told him that my husband is in poor health and no longer able to do these things for me. He told me "Ma'am, we will always be glad to help you out." Been told that they need to bring cc and ID during the time of pick up, to make the story short. I called back to arrange a payment so my old parents doesn't have to come back from Hayward just to pick up the parts that they need...NO! Heather was just a pain in the ass! Your stores are no good anymore first I ordered a oil filter which was a Mobil 1 part #M1-208 on Saturday last week and was told before that it was in store and went to pick it up and it wasn't for me. Then I was told that they couldn't get the oil filter because there vendor doesn't carry it anymore even though that filter is a common oil filter even O'Reilly's auto has it all the time and second of all I went to order a stp premium air filter for my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan it shows I can order it and ship it home and I did that and it says part no longer available. What's going on with your suppliers I'm very upset I used to like AutoZone but now I can't stand it! All you do is advertise stuff online or in store on your computer systems showing you can order it and then come up with excuses later saying you can't get it anymore blah blah. I'm seriously done with AutoZone, I will shop at oreillys and amazon and rockauto for all my future car parts at least they don't have an excuse of why they can't get it!!!!! read more

My husband and I Stopped by at 147 main st. Manteca autozone. we went inside to see if someone can help us out but one guy said " he is not allowed to step out of the building. so we left . When we were still at the parking lot we saw this guy getting out of his truck with UNIFORM on and holding his lunch. I was asking him if he works here and he said' yes and he put his food down on top of his truck and walked towards us. we were 20 feet away from him but he made time to get closer to us to give us a hand. we told him our situation regarding our brake and he help us out and told us what light to replace. 30 minutes later we went back to replace the other light and he help us again making sure we got what we needed it.. we offer him to buy him lunch .. he said" you guys don't owe nothing. I have ALWAYS had very friendly customer service at the Manteca AutoZone. Last weekend I was getting in my truck to leave on a 2 day trip and had the rude awakening of having a dead battery. I got a jump from the neighbor and called AutoZone to see if they would take old battery out and put in a new one. When I got there Brandy was helping me with the usual smiley service I am used to and started to remove battery. It was much more of a project than anticipated and she was told she needed to take her lunch break at which point Jason took over. It was 102 degrees out and it took a while, and then a while longer when I accidentally dropped one of the pieces down into the engine. I felt so bad and the whole time Jason was laughing and smiling while sweating. His service was ABOVE AND BEYOND expected...
