I'd give 0 stars if I could. Not surprised this place has a 2.7 rating either. The staff is SO slow, SO rude, and for some pathetic reason, power trip on people refusing exchanges on bad parts. THEY mark them with a paint pen and numbers off your receipt. I didn't even finish my sentence and the guy was yelling over me, "nope, no, no." Shaking his head back and forth. They do exchanges, its their policy. But they feel some sort of power cause they stand behind the counter at a junk yard. Just miserable, disgusting people to deal with. Cumberland USED TO be good but Rene isn't there anymore and the pace sucks. Both locations try to price things higher than listed online and just hope you dont notice. pick n pull has the worst cut throat customer service in the buisness. 30 day return policy for 20 year car parts that priced same as junkyards that pull parts for you. won't give you STORE CREDIT cause I missed return day by 2 weeks. workers have attitudes like they own the place. inventory of vehicles suck. so when you waste your time looking for a car that not there. there's no apology it's an oh well or they walk away and close doors. very disappointed to do business with. a lot of grief for store credit. To start, the website states that they accept Apple Pay. After driving 20 minutes and waiting in line, they informed me that they do not take Apple Pay. I then had to drive back the next day (another 20 minutes) with cash, told them the battery I needed and was on my way. They informed me that it's no refunds, but the battery would fit as it's the same size. After driving home and spending some time putting tne battery in, it doesn't fit. The clamps fall right off and it doesn't give any power. I called and told them I would just like my money back and they informed me that the policy is no refunds. I understand that, but because THEY sold me the wrong size, I have to keep inconveniencing my life to keep driving 20 minutes to and 20 minutes from back and forth until they get the size right. I can get down with the policy, but when it's the employee who made the mistake - that should never call on or penalize the customer. I own my own business and I would never run like this. Absolutely rude, unprofessional & just playing people for their money. read more

If I could put 0 stars I would. So apparently if you go to Pick n Pull and pull a part and can't buy it that day (credit card policy not posted that the persons name on the card must be present) they lie to you saying they put it back in the car and we may have to re pull it. I informed them yesterday ( Saturday) I would try to get cash to buy the part today(Sunday). When I came back to get the part today (Sunday) I was informed it was put back in the car and I may have to re-pull it but I ended up leaving crying because after looking around for almost a hour I found the part broken in a car ready to be crushed and was no longer savable when it was in perfect condition yesterday. (This is a $300 part we're talking about) They were legitimately YELLING at me saying it was my fault because I didn't put it on hold but I thought they would have put a perfectly good $300 value part back in the car or at least on a shelf after I did inform them I would try finding cash to buy the part. Granted they were yelling because my boyfriend was being a little rude but he wasn't raising his voice and I do agree he was in the right to be rude after finding out what they did to the part and it was very uncalled for and unprofessional to be yelling at their customer as an employee. If you need any car parts I would NOT go to PICK N PULL in Johnston they have VERY poor customer service and a very confusing card policy and a very poorly maintained yard! read more

Took half a day off work to wait for our car to be picked up between 8am-12pm. I call at 12 when nobody has shown up, to be on hold for 23 minutes, to then be told "they just now received an email that the truck is down and they have to reschedule all pick-up appointments for the day". Not sure when I would have found this out had I not called?? Guess I can take half a day's pay out of the scant amount I was getting for it to begin with. The kicker was I called the day before to see if I could reschedule the pick up and they told me they couldn't. Lesson learned. read more

This is what you dreamed a junk yard could be! Gone is the cigar-chomping guy eyeing you up, deciding how much to extort from you for the part you lovingly rescued from the remains of an unwanted shell of a car buried in mud. Simple to get to, this facility opened summer of 2014 and is fully operational. Clean, neat, and well laid out. I'm guessing 75+ rows of maybe 40 cars per row, each car raised a foot off the ground on sturdy supports. Cars are sorted by brand, and inventory is visible online (including pictures). Part pricing is listed online and is independent of brand or year. Employees couldn't be nicer - an A+ experience throughout. If you want something under the hood realize that cars being raised in the air makes under hood access more difficult - be prepared to stand on your toolbox. My trip here netted me a $250 fuel injection rail (dealer list $435!) for $24.99 plus $5 in admittance charge, environmental fees, and RI taxes. Needless to say I'm very pleased. I've been trying to get rid of my car that won't start and this company has made this whole process a major headache. I called on the Wednesday before Labor day and was told that they were towing on Labor Day, since I work full time and had Labor Day off I thought that this was awesome however over a hour into my 4 hour window waiting for the tow truck I was informed that they were not actually towing on Labor Day. As I was looking at my schedule to try and find the time to be home and wait for the tow truck the customer service operator was very rude and said "So am I cancelling this order or not?" This whole interaction was very unprofessional and the operator almost made it seem like it was my fault that I was scheduled on the holiday. Then I called today to make sure I was on the schedule today and after being put on hold for over 5 minutes I was told that no one could tell me whether or not I was on the schedule for my car to be picked up. After trying a different number and being put on hold again for over five minutes I finally found out I was on the schedule. My car hasn't even been picked up yet so I'm scared to see how that will turn out. So far I am NOT impressed with this company and defiantly will not use them again in the future. read more
