I have been using these guys for a few years now. Not only do they have good service at a reasonable price but they are honest. I'm a single woman, who knows nothing about cars, many times they could have taken advantage of that, but they never have. I've asked them to check over my older car before going on a trip with my granddaughter. I've asked do I need this or that. I live in Providence and make arrangements to get a ride back, so I can have them service my car. They are friendly, respectful, HONEST, and always upfront about what's needed. No upselling, no badgering and never any patronizing. I hope this review saves at least one person some money before going here. I am not sure if it was because I was a younger girl or because my car is an Infiniti, but JUST the labor charge for replacing break pads and spark plugs was almost $600! This is a drastic overcharge for labor, and when the parts also costed around $600 I was left with a $1200 dollar bill which I now know could have been a simple job for 1/5th the price at my local Nissan dealership. For example I just left the Nissan dealer to get a new battery, full diagnostic checkup, topped fluids, oil change and wash and vacuum; my bill was $130 and they charged me $26 in labor. Would never go here again or advise it to anyone. read more

This place should be considered for all your automotive troubleshooting needs. I worked with Jeff with my wife's car and he was very patient with explaining what was going on with the Check Engine light. Not only that he fixed an exhaust problem that would have prevented an inspection sticker as well as replacing a ball joint and tire. A good mechanic is one willing to do troubleshooting and diagnostics on your car and not merely replace things using computer error codes! This was also done for considerably less than if I brought it to Meineke or Firestone, which was going to be at least $400-600 more for the same amount of work. The car has 166,000 miles on it and runs like new now! read more

Like you almost go in expecting to get screwed some how. We moved here a few weeks ago, and needed to find a mechanic to take care of some issues with our car. We would give SIX or more stars if we could. We have been going to the Mutter Motors family since we moved to the area 19 years ago. They are a wonderful, competent group for service and sales. Their prices on service, labor, parts, Registration - you name it - have always been FAIR and correct. We have purchased ALL of our (pre-owned) vehicles from them and all have been excellent and trouble free. They stand by their work and commitment to all their customers. In fact we have found that local dealers seem to charge SIGNIFICANTLY MORE for work than this group. This is why we continue to do business with them. Several years ago, I was driving a Chrysler Town & Country that had a factory recall on emergency brake. I brought to the closest dealer at the time who proceeded to tell me "ALL" the things that were "WRONG" with the vehicle. I just looked at him, looked at the "menu board" with service prices listed. THEIR prices were anywhere from 25 to 60% HIGHER than those we ever paid at Mutters. Go there and you won't be disappointed! read more

This is the best place to bring a car. Great service, honest and a business that puts their costumers first. I took my car in to get serviced at a dealer, the estimate was 1200$. I ask Mutter Motors to look at the estimate and they noticed that one of the items was box that needed to be replaced that cost 600$. The box had a broken clip which Mutter Motors fixed for a couple of bucks. I know I am preaching to the choir when I tell you how good Mutter Motors is. I just felt I had to say it.
