not happy at all. I sold my car to them close to a month ago and still no payment. the first time, they were to pick it up from my house, the guy never stopped. called me, never gave me a chance to call him back, even though it took less than two minutes. they said I would have to reschedule. I tried, but I would have had to take off work and who knows??? They probably would have just drove by again. so I drove to fairfield from Napa, and turned in my paperwork. this place used to be all you need for used parts...you go pay 2 bucks get a stamp which was your ticket in to any pick n pull anywhere that day....plus the prices were great now..the prices are almost close to any other yard that pulls the part for you...theres been a few instances where the dealership has been cheaper for a new a part...this place has really gone down hill over the years...the staff gets worse and act like they know everything about every car and if they dont they will try and charge you for a part that your not buying...this could either work with or against the customer as far price goes....not a huge fan of this location...but its closer than the others...but even that doesnt stop me much...i'd almost rather drive further for better cars and better staff.... this location from typically has no cars newer than the model year 2000...very rare will you see any car in there 2001 and higher..if you do expect it to be pillaged beyond belief... bring your beers with you if you plan to go on a weekend...to be be prepared to wait in line and they're having a sale that weekend...bring a keg read more

I used to buy alot of parts from them. My last trip I bought some parts, got in my truck and went to lunch down the road. I looked at my reciept and realized that they had charged me the warrenty price for everything, which they are supposed to ask you if you want it. He did not ask me. I went back and told him what happened, he said "you told me you wanted it" I told him that I did not, and I was not asked if I did. He accused me of lying. I argued with him for a little bit and finally said fuck it and left. I will never go back there again because of that service. read more

First off the staff here is incompetent and challenged. We scheduled a pick up of a vehicle for the afternoon but these cucks were blowing up my phone in the morning while I was at work. We called them back to complain and they claimed it was scheduled for the morning. How ignorant do you have to be? They ended up doing the same thing AGAIN blowing up my phone while I was at work and not following through with what was scheduled as planned. The most ignorant staff I've ever had to deal with. This place is awful. The management sucks, half of the people who work there dont even know their parts, including the manager. Make sure they charge you for the right part, because if you try and return it, and they didn't ring it up right or mark it, your basically S.O.L. Also, the management tries to accuse everyone of stealing. He will try and fight you too if he thinks you stole something, but he is just trying to look macho in front of the girls he is trying to impress that work there. Dont visit this store!!! Take the time to drive to another PNP location. It will be more worth your time. This place will try and rip you off. read more

First thing that happened in the parking lot was I stepped in poop. My experience from there stayed about the same. A lack of a much clearer cataloguing system is a time waster as you go down row after row attempting to avoid forklifts from hitting you. The prices on parts pulled also matched new parts at another auto store so clearly money was saved. In addition returning stuff only gets you store credit which you may never use. read more

This is a review about Pick-N-Pull in general. It seems that Pick-N-Pull's business model is very much like the board game Monopoly... Corner the used auto parts market by buying up all the competition, then raise the prices. Pick-N-Pull USED to have very reasonable prices, but most unfortunately, their prices have risen dramatically over the last couple years or so. Of course I still shop there, but I am now much more selective as to what I go there to shop for. If your ONLY sources for a part are the "stealership" or used, then Pick-N-Pull is still very worth shopping at. With the global economy as it is now though, the market for NEW common replacement auto parts has gotten VERY competitive and many new parts have gotten RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP. Example: I just bought a new brake rotor for my Toyota Camry from Amazon for $9.53 - no tax and shipped free with a $25 minimum order. Yes, a NEW brake rotor for a mere $9.53 - total delivered price! A USED brake rotor from Pick-N-Pull would have cost me $18.49 out the door - plus a few hours of my time and a $2 admission charge. I know this is an "apples and oranges" comparison (I'd much rather have a new Centric brand rotor than an unknown condition used rotor). Due to the competition of the open marketplace, many new auto parts are now just plain silly cheap. Before shopping Pick-N-Pull, do a little online shopping. Of course I shop amazon.com per my example above, but my favorite first source to check is rockauto.com. Often Rockauto has the best prices, but if not, their data base is very complete and a good place to get part numbers for the correct part. Once you have a part number, you can easily do a Google search for other deals on a particular part. I also shop eBay for auto parts, but with eBay's absurdly high seller fees, most auto parts sellers there cannot be competitive with other online vendors who have lower overhead. It's just a time and money thing, but if you had plenty of money, you'd be paying someone else to fix your car instead of scrounging around trying to do it on the cheap. If what you need is a common part, do a little online research first before wasting an afternoon at Pick-N-Pull. Now a comment about the Fairfield Pick-N-Pull: I've shopped Pick-N-Pull's from Reno to Sacramento to everywhere in the greater Bay Area and beyond. I'd rate Fairfield in the top 20% of Pick-N-Pulls. Still, this is setting a rather low bar. A friendly, helpful and patient employee is the rare exception at any Pick-N-Pull. Do your homework, bring your own soap and water, and be prepared to roll with the punches when you go there. read more

Best Pick & Pull lot of all that I've visited in the Greater S.F. Bay Area, Sacto. & No. Nevada areas. Fairfield? Go figure. The lot's deceptively large. I've had the greatest success finding parts here for my vehicle projects. The workers are generally cool and the sales team doesn't price gouge on parts. Fair pricing. $2 entry fee for a pretty good show. They turn over cars quickly here and I think that's what gives them an edge over other locations. Pretty impressive stable of used (running) cars & tires for sale too. Best time to go is early in the week when it's much less crowded than weekends. Sign up for the free Tool Kit Rewards program for exclusive deals and offers. Utilize Pick & Pull or Row 52's helpful websites to spot your cars as they come into the lots so you have 1st dibbs on parts. There's money-making potential out here if you can teach yourself how & what to pull. Like a prize-fighter's instructions, you must protect yourself at all times out here on the lot. All kinds of hidden dangers like exposed glass and trim shards, uncapped hypodermic needles (hidden between seats inside the cars), toxic substances, biohazards and mega-ton tractors rumbling through the gravel lanes. Not a playground for the kiddies. In fact, I don't think kids are allowed in. They also do a decent job of draining the cars of hazardous materials like oil & gas, better than at most other locations. This of course thankfully minimizes the impact to the surrounding habitat & environment. Added bonus when the roach coach-taco truck's on site, usually late mornings & weekends. Minus one star collectively for the location being off the beaten path and for the pot-holed customer parking area. read more

Yeah I agree with the other posts. They have their moments. But, I can assure you its not all bad.. I bought two tires from there & had them marked (just in case) when I got home I noticed a nail in the tread. I immediately went back to see if I could get a refund. It was closing time & the Manager must have had a date. He was eager to close & really had no time for my story. I left frustrated, and in the process left a personal item behind. I stopped by the next day to see if it had been found. I was greeted with a lot of shaking heads. But, one young assistant asked for my phone number. At 6:30pm (well after closing time) the young man called to say they had found it!! I was reunited the next day with my item which had been cleaned.. Now that's service from a junk yard !! So, now I'm a fan !!! read more

I took my 2001 BMW 5 series premium sports package in today to get an quote on how much they would buy it for. The lady at the desk did a horrible job at something because they only offered me $230 ! Usually they go out and inspect the car, ask questions to get a better idea of what to offer but within 2 minutes she gave me a botched offer and I cant believe it. Just previously, I took a Rav 4 with body damage 10 years older than the one I was selling and they offered double for what they just offered me for my car. Im very disappointed this is the worst customer service ive ever gotten in my life. I do not recommend going there for selling cars. She didnt even tell me what the state would offer me like the last guy did. The last guy actually got out of his chair to see what he was dealing with. read more

It costs a person $2 to get in (not a big deal). However, I had a very simple cut and dry part I was looking for and I had the guy look it up in the system after giving him my vehicle information and he quoted me a price of about $15. I thought great! Amazon charges $25 + tax for the same part so I was going to save about $10 by pulling it myself. I found the part and pulled it and brought it to the counter to pay for it and told the checkout lady I was quoted a price of about $15 by the other guy on the way in. Well wouldn't you know it, she says "oh no, those cost a bit more than that and rang it up for $25". I said, "well the other guy here quoted me a price of $15 and Amazon is selling it for the same price you are selling it for" And she said, "well it would be better if you bought it new from Amazon then" I agreed. In fact, I think this place really needs to leave town. I am going to let everyone I know know how dumb this business is, their bait tactics, and their poor customer service. The funny thing is, I was warned about this place a year ago by a friend; I should have listened. Obviously, I am a slow learner. Pick-n-Pull here only if you are a sucker and/or you really need the part desperately the same day. I am curious on how a Pick-n-Pull yard would justify charging retail rates for their parts. read more

Very bad experience. Staff are NOT friendly or helpful. I was very put out when after taking the time to walk to the farthest part of the lot, take the part off and walk back, wait in a line. (because there is only one cashier taking customers) only to find out the price for the part is more expensive than buying it brand new. Not a good business model. Do people really pay their prices?? One thing to know about this place is that they offer a 30 day return for exchange (not cash) if the part you picked/pulled is bad. OK great. BUT, if the cashier forgets to tell you that you have to take your newly purchased part to another counter so they can mark the part and stamp your receipt and you just leave, guess what? When the part you spent an hour looking for and another half hour removing, pay $23 plus $7 core, only to get home and find out it's junk and you try and exchange it without these "marks", you're SOL. No one says "let me talk to a manager" or offers any help... they just look at you. Don't get me wrong, I understand why they need to mark their outgoing parts; so you don't bring back the broken part you just replaced and try to get something for nothing. But as a first timer, if the guy that's taking my money doesn't tell me I have to go to another counter HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT? So the junk part I bought I gave right back to them to get my $7 core charge back. In trying to save a few bucks I end up giving them $23 plus admission and leave with nothing except being made to feel like I was trying to steal from them. Thanks for nothing Pick-N-Pull. Wow, i just felt like i was a big fat sucker. So me and my girlfriend went there for the first time today, we both knew nothing about the place other than you did your own work and if they had your car you could scavenge it for parts. First off, definitely a shady vibe there, and 2 dollars each to get in. They had her car, not my truck, and we get to work getting the almost 20 year old rear bumper off to replace her dented one. We get it off, then go to the counter and the lady says, okay, with taxes a rear bumper from a almost 20 year old crv, was 75 bucks. I was like oh wow, that sounds like a lot, but i just assumed that i was getting a deal considering the nature of the store is used parts you pull yourself. So we decide okay, fine this sounds too high but theres no way we arent getting a deal. Pay the money and when we get to my truck we check online to see prices of the bumper, rock auto has a brand new CAPA certified one for 72. I JUST PAID MORE FOR A NEAR 20 YEAR OLD BUMPER I Had TO PULL MYSELF. I was like okay, well just return it, thats what the receipt is for.. Nope, receipt only for store credit! WHAT! NEVER AGAIN. I checked there prices online after that, they charge new prices for everything i checked. No, freaking, thanks. Place is a scam. read more

Poor business practices and awful communication! After receiving a notice from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District that I could sell my vehicle through the Vehicle Buy Back Program, I contacted Pick-n-Pull of Fairfield to get instructions for participating. The representative instructed me on what documents I needed to submit (via fax or in person) in order for to get approved. Simple instructions. Yet upon arriving at the Vehicle Buy Back Office, I was told that after submitting the documents, authorization from offsite was needed and could take up to 2 hours. Had I been told this over the phone, I would have gladly faxed in the documents prior to making the 30 mile trip. And of course, my ride home also came from 30 miles away and they too had to make the unnecessary wait! We decided to go have breakfast at a nearby diner. As we were eating, I received a phone call from Melanie at the Vehicle Buy Back Office to notify me that the process had been approved. We finished our breakfast and returned to the Office only to see that the Office was closed for lunch! Thanks for telling me that the office would be closed from 12-1230!! Ok, what's another 25 minutes? Lunch is over and we are ready to wrap things up- right? Nope. After filling out a few more documents, I was informed that it would take another 20 minutes to receive a check. 35 minutes later, I had my check and was FINALLY on my way. My message: The 3 hour experience at Pick-n-Pull would have taken about 30 minutes if they communicated concisely (over the phone and in person) and if they had any consideration for the value of their customer's time! I want to buy a steel rim for my car and i found one but there is the tire still on it i asked if one of them could dismount it for me the say no . I bought stuff from other pick and pull like the one in newark they dismount the tire for me , so what sup with this place why dont you guy help a customer what they need? These guys are idiots. The part pricing is straight forward on the website but they make up their own prices at the register. I pulled a standard dual beam headlight assembly after looking the price up and it said 25.99. I got to the register and they tried to charge me for the bulbs AND the bulb covers! ANY parts person should know that the word ASSEMBLY means the entire thing as a whole unit INCLUDING THE BULBS!!!!! If i were to order the assembly from anywhere else it would be a plug and play install, so where do they get the covers costing extra? After arguing the fact with him for 5 minutes he finally let it go, as he very well should have. It would have added an extra 20 dollars to my bill if i had not argued the point. And i am just one person, imagine how many others they have ripped off charging extra for stuff that is part of any assembly? And on another note, if you are buying a seat make sure they know the difference between vinyl and leather. Alot of german cars have vinyl that looks like leather (PLEATHER) but they will try to charge you for leather which will cost up 20 extra.
