A few things didn't go well. Three of the eight taps wouldn't pour when we swiped our wristbands, and an employee who came over to help told us those kegs were blown. The owner says they were full. If so, her staff told customers otherwise, and the footage will show it. The Astroturf out back also had such a heavy urine smell that we came back inside after a couple of minutes. What ended our visit was the employee who introduced herself as the manager. She was beyond rude from her first sentence to our last minute there, and it felt personal. She scolded our group repeatedly and gave the "keep the dogs in" speech at least six times, including when every one of our dogs was already inside the closed-off area. When I asked why, she confirmed leashes weren't even needed there, and the lectures kept coming anyway. She went after the kids in our group too, enough that their older sister took them home early. I'm 40, and I've never been treated that way by an employee of any business. Our whole group was uncomfortable, and we left rather than take more of it. The other employee working that day was wonderful: friendly, hardworking, and a pleasure to be around. That tells me this is a training and management issue, not a staffing one. To the owner: I've removed the employee's name and the photos. It's a great concept, and I genuinely want local businesses like yours to succeed. You have my number from the reservation, and I'd welcome a call. As of Thursday, September 24, almost a week later, I still haven't received one. I'm confident the footage matches what I've described. Check the tapes. The door's open on my end.

We also found out Dave is an Air Force veteran, and he did us a solid by making sure we received the military discount. That kind of gesture means a lot and was greatly appreciated. In my 78 years, I have eaten a lot of pizza, but the BBQ beef, sausage, and bacon pizza I had at this establishment was, hands down, the best pizza I've ever had. My friend had a Carne pizza and she was equally impressed, and hers was gluten free! Seriously, Piccolo's is now our go-to place when we visit Coeur d'Alene in the future. read more
