So, I've been to all three Capones, and I think it's safe to say that I'm a fan. They have monthly specials on pizzas, salads and wings. Sometimes the wings are a winner. Sometimes their just good. Never had any that were bad. Their Buffalo Wings are always good. Just enough spice to make the top of my head sweat. All three places have good service, but they can get a little overwhelmed during big games on TV. So plan accordingly. read more

Stopped into Capone's during an afternoon happy hour while the Seahawks game was on. It started off a bit slow, but once the game got going the place filled up and had a great buzz and energy. Service was solid--Joe did a great job. He was friendly, engaging, and attentive, especially considering how many tables he was handling. Really appreciated the effort. Beer selection was very good. I went with the Conductor IPA, which was excellent and easy to enjoy during the game. We went all-in on the happy hour food--sliders, tater skins, and meatballs--and everything was very good. Stopped in for a drink while riding my bike on the centennial around 6pm. I've been in before a few times and always had welcoming and friendly service. Tonight, I felt like a pariah at the bar. I don't expect to be treated like a king, but even a peasant would have been nice. No how are you, how was your day, you're ugly AF...nothing. I got my drink, did my thing and moved on. Don't recommend food to go without checking your order. I also don't recommend online ordering if you are from out of town. Tried pizza Hear Attack asked for no green chilli's. Well they were on the pizza and hot. Went inside to pay had to wait for pizza after ordering online told it was my banks error. Ordered a couple of beers and ciders on tap, we got the 20 oz each time for $8.50 a piece, definitely not a bad price. We also tried their capones single barrel tequila as a shot and it was sooo smooth. I hate tequila but we had to test it out, it was very good. Smoother than higher end tequila honestly and only $8 a shot it was worth it. We also got the pizza of the month, spicy margaroni which had chili infused olive oil as the base, fried pepperoni, jalapeños, and topped with fresh basil and tomatoes BUT I subbed the tomatoes for fresh pickles because that's my jam with pizza and it was a great deal compared to the create your own pizza price, we got a large for $26. We also tried the midtowner sandwhich and subbed the onion for jalapeños and added pickles, the sandwhich was a total miss for me, probably one of the worst sandwiches I've had in a while because the beef had so much fat in it it was inedible and they also didn't add the jalapeños and gave me whole pickles on the side instead of adding diced pickles to the sandwhich. Not a big deal because I cut the pickles myself but the sandwhich overall wasn't good. The pizza is always a hit here though. Without having any actual sauce on their special this month it was a tad dry and I wish I would've gotten the ranch I asked for to go with it but again it wasn't a deal breaker. We also sat there for about 15 mins at the bar before anyone greeted us and the place wasn't even half full so that was odd since they had about 4 people behind the bar but once we established our drink order our gal had our drinks rolling out and was very friendly. Dear Capones, Your restaurant in Cda is on point. But if you go to Post Falls or Hayden, the product is not the same. It was weird to get a chef salad with all the ingredients mixed together. The presentation wasn't great and honestly I just wonder about the kitchen. Who is mixing my salad? Who is doing it? Are their hands clean? Why am I not getting a salad I want to dive into and mix around? You need to train your staff with the Cda staff. And Hayden does too. Please. My wife and I stopped into Capone's for lunch on our way home from Montana. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Capone's is a sports fan's perfect pub. TV's mounted throughout, bountiful drafts, food and sports paraphernalia. Indoors is literally covered (walls and tables) with baseball gloves, beer signs, game tickets, baseball cards etc. All this made for a stimulating look into history. While deciding what we wanted for lunch, my wife slurped on a Manny's and I on a Sockeye Hopnoxious for $5.50 each. We shared the 9" (4 slices) Pizza Capone for $12: red sauce, mozzarella, Italian sausage, sauteed onions, mushrooms, green peppers and roasted red peppers. The toppings were fresh and generous. The crust doughy and yummy. We made a great choice on our lunch meal. Our server was kind enough to wrap our leftovers in foil rather than place in a to-go box since we were travelling with a cooler full of ice. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. It was my first time visiting Capones. My grandma told me I met the owner a few years ago out in coeur d'alene. But that's besides the point, I wanted to give it a shot because my family lives is in the area and loves this spot! Potato skins, pastrami and French dip sandwiches was amazing! Saw this place on DDD. My family had to go to Spokane so we decided to drive a little further and try this place. Everything was so good. The buffo boneless wings are cut and battered in house, You could tell. They tasted like wings I'd never had before. Then we ordered pizza and the all the way cheese burger with pesto pasta salad. Went on a BUSY Thursday early evening. We were seated promptly, waitress was on top of service at the beginning. We had the pretzel appetizer, cheese sauce was good but a bit thin. Pretzel bites were warm and had great flavor. Hubby had the club, kiddo had the Philly and I had the Greek sandwich. Kiddo and hubby were pleased with their meals. I should have complained, but the waitress was no where in site. Greek sandwich was tasteless. Barely any feta or toppings and chicken was dry. Typically we enjoy Capone's but our last few visits to the post falls location have lacked service levels. We have experienced wrong orders on 2 occasions. (Hamburger instead of chicken sandwich twice), inconstant cocktails (some too much alcohol others hardly any). Our last visit, we were seated and waited almost 15 minute before finally getting someone to help us after being seated. The reason was, "I was replacing the kegs so sorry". We were on a tight schedule so we had to get it to go. I know it's a sports bar so not expecting 5 star, but I feel like the service team is slipping. There's an unsaid truth among those of us who have visited some of the restaurants featured on Food Network's popular show, "Drive-Ins, Diners, and Dives." And that unsaid truth is this: The food experience that the general public has at these places is not what host Guy Fieri experiences. For the show, Guy gets the head chef or restaurant proprietor making his dish. For him, it's made from scratch to show the process, and it's done in an empty restaurant where orders aren't piling up. The focus to attention of pleasing a popular host on a popular show that could help catapult your restaurant into the stratosphere is impeccable. And this leads to the common mistake those who visit the restaurant often make: Assuming that they will get the same experience. Capone's was featured on an episode of "Drive-Ins, Diners, and Dives" in 2010, and in the episode, Guy Fieri boasted about an awesome pizza and delicious burger made with a righteous fresh-made bun. The restaurant was featured again in a compilation/new footage episode in 2018. So when we visited Capone's on January 16, 2022, some among us figured there was something amazing happening here. And if you've never known about Triple D or don't even own a TV, it's not hard to find out that the restaurant was featured on the show. Like most Triple D restaurants, menus have been updated to feature a cartoon likeness of Guy Fieri to indicate which dishes he tried (and hopefully praised extensively). Menus and websites make it well-known that they are part of this somewhat exclusive club. And I can't blame them. There are lots of reports indicating restaurants see a definite business boost after being featured on the show. But remember: The food experience that the general public has at these places is not what host Guy Fieri experiences. With our visit, this should've been predicted since the place was close to being packed on a Sunday afternoon. Unlike what Guy experienced, we knew the owner was not going to make our meals from scratch. But we wanted to try it anyhow because there was an expectation that it would be close to the real-thing (the "real thing" being Guy's experience). Among us, we ordered several plates, including the ones Guy tried and liked. Personally, I tried their Black & Blue Burger and had a slice of their Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza. Spoiler Alert: I'm very confident Guy didn't taste the same burger or pizza I tasted. For starters, the burger seemed a lot smaller than what he experienced on the show. Now, this could be a camera factor. Maybe the camera added 30lbs to Guy's burger. But there was no hiding the other factors: -The burger came with frozen-to-plate crinkle-cut fries, and only a handful at best. They tasted...like the frozen crinkle-cut fries you make at home. The fresh bun was just...a bun. It definitely wasn't right out of the oven (though we weren't expecting that), but it did not taste like it was baked fresh that daily, which is a tagline Capone's uses to tout their burger buns. Baking buns daily does not mean you're getting a bun that was baked that day, and I am confident that on this cold Sunday, my bun was likely made fresh...the previous Thursday. The burger was dry. The patty was over-cooked (I wasn't given an option of how I wanted it cooked, but in all fairness, I didn't ask if I could have it cooked my way). But my burger meat was nowhere near what Guy boasted about when he showed a closeup of the medium rare burger made for him. His was juicy, looked to be cooked perfectly the way I like it, and was fresh off the grill. I am confident my burger patty was either left for a while before it was brought to our table (with each visit from our waitress, there was a 20-minute gap in between) or that it was made ahead of time and assembled when the order was placed. The toppings were dry, and the Gorgonzola cheese barely had any flavor (rare for a typically stronger cheese). The pizza was the same. There is no way our pizza came from the oven straight to our table. It must have sat for at least 10-15 minutes prior to being delivered to our table. The taste was good, but it was maybe one step above a Mod Pizza creation. Most egregiously, this 12-inch pizza cost $20. Way, way overpriced. $12-14 would've been more fitting. Everyone else said the same thing about their food: It was certainly not stove-to-table, and we were all certain the experience we got was not the same experience Guy Fieri had with his visit. To be fair, this is a common issue at DDD restaurants. The food is hyped, but it's hyped because the head chef or owner is personally making the meal from scratch with no other orders to worry about. Maybe it is unreasonable to think an average visitor would have the same experience that Guy did. But it shouldn't be too far off, and unless Guy Fieri couldn't muster criticism and feigned praise for Capone's, this restaurant nurtured that unsaid truth quite well. read more
