We went to Iron Pizza for the first time a few days ago. The service was good, the three pies we ordered were flavorful, cooked perfectly -- delicious! We all stuffed ourselves. We will absolutely go back. There are a lot of games for customers. The only negative is that it was super noisy inside and it wasn't very busy (a Thursday), so on busy days it is probably too loud to have a conversation. read more

When we are in Athol Iron Pizza always is a must. We have always done take out and it has been timely and delicious! Yes figs belong on pizza! The Arabian is a family favorite. We picked our pizza up around 2 pm on a Saturday and there appeared to be only one server. She was working so hard but did not seemed phased but anything. Impressive! We phone ordered two large pizzas like we always do. When my sons came home with the pizzas they were not large so we called. The woman on the phone then told me that they no longer sell large pizzas because people complained they did not cook through. When I asked why the price was still a large price she said food prices have gone up. Which is it? Shooting for higher quality or saving money? Someone should have told me when we ordered that things had changed - felt duped and did not have enough food for the family. On top of that they gave my son a hard time using a coupon . The coupon was a stamp in their pizza box but suddenly they only honor if you eat in. I get it is hard to make a restaurant profitable but you need to be more honest. People want to support a local restaurant but we will not be back. Sad for everyone. read more

This is 1 of 2 Pizza places here in Athol. The other is Beacon Pizza (See my review there) Iron Pizza Started out with some serious problems, mostly having to do with making the pizza consistently and quickly. It used to be you would have to wait forty five minutes for your pizza to get done but Amazingly When I attended recently They got my pizza To my table within twenty five minutes. The crust of the pizza is excellent and that has also improved over time. The only real complaint I have is if you order a Half and half pizza, They charge you an extra $5 because they say It's such a hassle for them to do it. And yet Beacon pizza Just down the road from them doesn't charge anything Extra to do the same thing. read more

Yet again no bacon on the wedge salad (advertised as with bacon). I think they just don't do it anymore but aren't changing the menu or informing guests. We had 3 salads between our group and not a single one had bacon, just like the time before and the time before. 2nd VISIT: I do have to say, again I was impressed with the food but the prices seemed to have increased significantly, as with most places. I'll say stick with pizza if you want more bang for your buck because spending $30 on 8 wings, a sliver of cheesecake, and one beer...plus a 20%tip...not worth it in my book. I will say for baked wings, they have it down as they were not rubbery and simply fell off the bone! Yum! PREVIOUS: We arrived on a Tuesday night. This business used to be a gas station and they utilized the pump canopy to play Folf! The interior decor is fun and engaging. There is unique outdoor seating and on cooler nights keep burn barrels stoked! They have several taps with a quality assortment. The ingredients are top notch and I can honestly say this is the best pizza we've had in the whole area! Even though it's a thin crust, which is hand tossed sourdough, it doesn't lack for flavor! We had the BBQ chicken. I don't typically get anything other than a traditional red sauce and this blew me away! One note, it does come with jalapenos so if you don't like spicy, ask for them on the side or removed. I picked them off and gave them to my partner and the residual flavor was still enough to warm me up. LOL Oh, and leftovers warmed up in the air fryer is just like being there again! So new owners and they won't honor coupons that were previously purchased for only this location. I'll not be going back. Didn't have a problem with the new higher prices from the new owners. To start, I understand a lack of staffing at restaurants, and I am the most patient person ever. I told my boyfriend to be nice. However, our experience a few days ago was UNACCEPTABLE ON ALL ACCOUNTS. To note, we originally left a positive review, but had to delete it and replace with our horrific experience INCLUDING THEIR UNACCEPTABLE RESPONSE. We called to order a pizza at around 3:30 pm. Someone answered and asked if we could hold. We said ok. She sat down the phone, but they have no hold, and I told my boyfriend to not hang up because I knew they had one line. After "holding" for 20 minutes, while listening to EVERYONES conversations, my boyfriend hung up. Tried to call back, but like I knew, the phone was off the hook so it was busy.  So he drove over there. He was at the bar at 4:17, maybe a few minutes earlier than that, I'm basing this timeline off my phone texts. At 5:55 I learn the server NEVER PUT IN OUR ORDER. Waste of time.  You tried to resolve it with a free large pizza, a pizza we would NEVER EAT. We live an exit away. He came back, we opened the boxes, ALL THREE PIZZAS WERE COLD! COMPLETELY COLD! AND you messed up our orders boyfriend put in at 4:17ish! And repeated to you at 5:55ish when you said you never put in our order! It's 6:13 right now btw.  I don't care about a free large pizza. It's not what I ordered, and 2+ hours (longer considering we called first) is RIDICULOUS. I gave you allowances for lack of staff, but 2-3 hours, wrong pizza given to us, on hold listening to customers and staff talking, cold disgusting pizza, it's simply unacceptable. Was one of our favorite pizza places but 2 of the last 3 times we've gone we've had terrible experiences. The first being we went in right when they opened and you could taste whatever they were using to clean baked into the pizza. The second time the waitress was awful!!! Probably the worst service ever and then she slapped us with an automatic gratuity charge for having 6 people when 2 of those people were under 2 years old. Just an excuse to get a good tip for lousy service. Just awful. We'll be taking our money elsewhere from now on. read more

I have to give Iron Pizza & Taphouse a five star!! Absolute the best pizza in ALL of Northern Idaho. They offer some very creative pizza selections and if you can't decide on just one then go for the "pizza flight" and you can order 3 different choices in a personal size pizza enough for 3 people unless you have a big appetite! There is also a wedge salad, wings and some specialized taco choices and a few other items on the menu we've not tried yet. They also have a great draft beer selection! I happen to love the ambiance because they have some really cool artworks there that reminded me of my youth....black light posters, carvings and some really awesome steampunk art and lights. Not to forget pool tables, dart board and games the kids will enjoy.... As for the service everyone who has ever waited on us were as friendly as can be! We normally go in for lunch at opening because we can so had the opportunity to converse with the staff. It's hard to find good help these days so if the place is packed be patient the food is well worth the wait...PS, I almost hated to give away our favorite pizza place but everyone has to at least try once! My husband and I drive by this place often and always say we should stop in. Well last night we finally did and I am so glad we did! This place is amazing! Such a unique place with huge character! It should be on diners, drive inns and dives. We started out with the wedge salad, it was hands down one of the best ever! So much flavor and perfectly chilled. All the pizzas sound delicious and they make it easy to try a few out with their pizza flight menu item for just 18$ you can try 3 different pizzas. The service was excellent she was very attentive. Look around the place and you will start noticing all the unique and fun decorations! The prices are very reasonable. I got a nice glass of red wine for $6.50, unheard of anymore! They have a great selection of beers on tap and have a pool hall with video games. This place is a Gem! We will be back for sure and try another pizza flight. read more

We just found this gem the other night, and we will be returning. First of all it was a Friday and they were absolutely packed. We were able to find a spot at the bar and Morgan welcomed us. People were watching tv, playing pool, video games and air hockey while enjoying their meals. It was really bustling. We ordered drinks and took a look at the menu. Morgan returned and took our order. We did have to wait a while, but NOBODY was standing around. There were orders to go, orders for dine in, Uber Eats. Did I say they were busy?? In any case, the vibe in the restaurant was overall pretty good. The staff was hustling around and everyone was just having a nice time. My daughter got the pretzels as an appetizer and said they were really good with the cheese sauce to dip them in. The pizzas had fun names, and when they arrived, we weren't disappointed. My wife got the Michaelangelo, and said is was delicious!!! I got Pepperoni and mushroom and my daughter just pepperoni. Both great with good crust. They have several things on the menu that I want to go back and try, but we are already planning our next visit. We also noticed the guys in the kitchen were busting their butts to keep things going. This is a re-review! Food still the best pizza and wedge salad in this area! Service is still great and friendly even with only one waitress on duty! Ambiance relaxing and have a great game room! I have always been a fan of this pizza and tap house but now the down side, beware of the 20% gratuity add on for 8+ people and even being charged 20% for 7 people that we had in our party with the gratuity added before taxes! I always tip 25 to 30% on our meals when service is good to great but I will not tip on top of a pre charged gratuity! With all that being said I'm not sure I will return to a restaurant that charges for something that's should not have been charged for our party of 7! We live in Post Falls, which is about 35 minutes away and we still drive to Athol for pizza. Service is always great! They have many beer/drink options. The atmosphere and decor is awesome, for a North Idaho restaurant! Pizza is hands down the best I've ever had. Always so crispy, and cooked so well. Our favorite is the Iron Combo. The large (24") feeds both of us + we have left overs for the next day! Prices are even better. My only reason for the 4 stars, is happy hour isn't really happy hour. They only offer $1 off beers and $5 appetizers. The hours of HH are from the time they open, which is around 2pm to 4pm. We will continue driving to Athol for pizza! read more

Don't go here if you want a quick dinner. Service is awful!! Have been twice now, both times at 4pm and was there for 2 hours. Not busy time at all. Service is just SLOW and the waitresses have no attention to customers eating in. Only ordered one pizza and some pretzels both times and took over an hour for food. Second time we ordered the surprise sundae as well as pizza, pretzels and nachos. It was chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a few M&M's. Not worth it at all and expected it to be so much more. When I ordered it, the waitress made it seem like it was an inconvenience for me to order. The food is pretty good. Pizza sauce is pretty bland but not bad. Nachos were good. Pretty good pizza. Their sauce is kind of like tomato paste unfortunately. I think they need to turn down their oven and cook a little longer so the crust is not soggy in the middle like it is sometimes even with minimal ingredients on it. I managed a pizza chain store for 2 yrs and know this would help. Kept ours at 550*. Otherwise their pizza is pretty good and their toppings are really good. I have ordered carryout pizza her e at least 25 times and will continue to. Texture of outside crust is very good also. Their Hill Billy Tacos are yummy and reasonable. Good specials often . Called to check, they have been so busy from what I have read, that take out is on hold, but employee said they could manage take out before dinner rush and after, but if I was ok with hour wait they could manage. I don't know if iron pizza is under new ownership but things have drastically gone down hill. we have frequented Iron since their opening. today was a complete disaster. the floors and tables were dirty. it took over an hour and 20 minutes to get our pizza. I understand help is hard to come by but the man in camo and his wife who seem to be the new owners seemed to have a lot of free time. the waitress did try her best but the wait and pizza were diffidently not worth it. what a disappointment. read more

We moved here in July and absolutely were so happy to have great pizza down the street . I will say the last 3 times I've had their pizza seems very inconsistent with the taste one time we had it and it was literally so bad the crust was so bad tasted like they forgot to add salt to the dough so bland the last 2 times was just bad tasting. Had it tonight and it tasted better . Did they sell the restaurant? Is there a new cook ? I tried tonight as a last ditch effort to see if it tasted better If it was not good I would have tried something else . I hope it gets back to the amazing pizza it was when we moved here as I wanna be able to support my town and small businesses or we will have to spend our money elsewhere .
