They have some house made syrups which I love -- shout out to the pastelito latte and matcha! but recently had a mango matcha that tasted like the typical coffee shop syrup added to it (forgot to ask before I ordered if the mango was house made or not), didn't love it but it was alright. Always a great experience from the staff and delicious, fresh food. Ambience is chill, hip hop decor and music. Parking is paid street parking so be mindful of that when visiting if you're driving. I usually don't have a hard time finding parking in the area, if it's after school hours or weekends it may be more challenging.

I got two spicy Jamaican beef patties, two nutella croissants, a potato fritter and a chocolate pastry. All of the pastries were delicious, so much so that I ate one in the car on the ride home bc it was so warm and flaky. The staff was so cordial and I loved the coziness of the table area. They also sell several flavors of tres leches cake in individual sizes and I plan on getting at least a couple to try. I was looking for a coffee shop while I was in the area and happened to find Alessio's Café. I'm so…read moreglad I stopped because it ended up being the perfect mix of a cozy coffee shop and an Italian café. Since I came hungry, I ordered the Portofino sandwich, a strawberry matcha, and the Sicilian pistachio tart. Everything was delicious. The sandwich was on the smaller side but surprisingly filling, the matcha was refreshing, and the pistachio tart was so good I had to save half for later. The barista was incredibly helpful with recommendations, and every suggestion was a hit. I also loved the ambiance. It has a beautiful interior that's perfect for relaxing or even taking a few photos. My only small critique is that the chairs squeak quite a bit whenever someone moves, but that was easy to overlook considering how great everything else was. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The pizza and empanadas already caught my eye, and I can't wait to come back.

The first time I came in here I was not greeted right away until I got to the counter. Basic customer service is to greet the customer as soon as they walk in whether they buy something or not. I immediately noticed the amount of flies inside the café, which already put me off on anything that wasn't covered and when I went to go sit and wait for my drink there were fruit flies, almost everywhere. I tried the strawberry dragon fruit drink, it was really tasty. The second visit here I had a blueberry Matcha, it wasn't that great, tasted gritty, not smooth. Today I tried the tiramisu latte, the way they handed it to me was really cute with a little lady finger on top, but when I tried to put the lid on the cup, it made a bit of a mess and I had to sip a little bit of it before I put the lid on completely. They also put so much cocoa powder that was unnecessary, a sprinkle would've sufficed. It tased fine just not as good a Mokafe right across the way. Based on the flies and fruit flies, I always see when I pop in here. I will not be trying their food but the terrace location has pretty good food. This location is unfortunately a let down.

Unfortunately, the matcha flavor itself was pretty minimal for me. It seems like the matcha powder is really just dusted on top rather than blended into the shaved ice itself, so once you get a few bites in, it turns into a pretty plain, sweet shaved ice with not much matcha flavor coming through. It was also sweeter than I'd typically expect from a matcha dessert, which usually leans more bitter/earthy. One thing that stood out (and not in a good way) -- they charged $0.50 for a cup of ice water. Small thing, but a bit of an odd touchpoint for a dessert spot. On the plus side, it's in a plaza with plenty of parking, so at least getting there and finding a spot was easy.
