2 Pieces of Fish & Chips (Old English Style)

I've passed by this place for years and finally decided to give it a try. I want to support small hole-in-the-wall businesses and the fact that this has been around for so long it's gotta be pretty good, right? Well... It's to go only, so by the time I got home about 15 minutes had passed, so I understand my fish and chips might have gotten slightly soggy in the box during that time, so I won't fault them for that. But this is the saddest order of fish and chips I've ever had in my life. No seasoning, both fish and chips look under-fried, super pale in color...no tartar sauce included. I was literally the only customer in the shop so you'd think a little more attention would be given. Very disappointed - maybe it was an off day for them but I won't be coming back any time soon.

The picture is leftover from last night. Ive been craving fish and chips and I found this when I was walking back from a grocery store. I didn't have high expectations, but it turned out so good. Reminded me of the fish and chips I had in Ireland. I air fried it since I got home kinda late and used vinegar and salt it was really good. I definitely will come back.

I really got vibes that the fish was frozen maybe. I don't remember this place like this. Either new ownership or the pandemic ruined the quality. Chips were fresh potatoes. I can tell. Those we're pretty good but not crunchy enough. I had to ask for all the condiments a la carte too. I'm comparing this to Cod mother in fisherman's warf or Camelot fish and chips in Pacifica. I would try again if the quality got better. Maybe

Fish and Fries. (A little undercooked/oily) you could squeeze and mush the fries with an oily feeling alongside the Fish.

The man working there seemed professional like a manager and was very polite, but unfortunately the food experience was just not so great. The Food wasn't cooked long enough and could possibly use a little more time. I don't think he wanted customers like myself waiting super long, so he took it out in a rush and both the Fish and Fries were pretty oily and mush still. Paid roughly about 20 bucks for 3 pieces of Fish, Chips, and a Side of Coleslaw was about 5$. Truthfully did I find value for my buck? Sadly not at all. I'd (possibly) give this place another shot but definitely not at that price and quality. With respect - E

This guy, Kang made me a delicious dinner. Come try their food.

Ok, my daughter just moved into tha Tenderloin and we where looking for something to eat. We were craving fish..and this place was open. When we walked in, the owner (Kang) greeted us with a huge smile that showed through his mask. He explained that the fish they serve is 100% Cod. Great, cause I'm hungry. I ordered the Cod n fries, the Shrimp n onion rings, and an extra order/ al a carte of the Cod. There food was really good and plentiful. The onion ring batter was not clumpy. Tempura style. The fries are cut right there and fried crispy on outside and soft and warm on the inside. The restaurant is small and after Covid will have inside seating, again. The only con was..it's tha Tenderloin. Watch your surroundings. The food was great+great hospitality =5 stars Kang thank you and your wife for being there to satisfy our hunger pains. See you again.

Only remembered to take the photo halfway into the dish. Pictured: 1 deliciously crispy fish + what remains of the freshly fried chips

Ask the Community - Piccadilly Fish & Chips

Is there any dairy or eggs in their fish batter? I tried to call but whomever answered the phone just yelled incoherently at me so I figured I'd try here.

Most of their the items here are fried in tempura batter which typically contain egg so I would assume so.

My bf ended up sharing his order with me because I didn't enjoy my Cioppino ($42.) The seafood was bland, all tasting very much alike, & the broth didn't give off that complex spicy tang that my favorite cioppinos possess. My table started with an appetizer of Red Chili Garlic Shrimp ($18) -- from the description, we were expecting a dry, possibly sautéed preparation & were disappointed that the shrimp were sitting in a watery broth. Though I was letdown by my picks here, I know my group enjoyed theirs. We were treated very well by our waiter & by the host who gave us a beautiful window seat; we enjoyed the view of the sun setting over the bay. Not a restaurant I'd regularly return to, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it (with a few caveats, of course) to someone looking for a sit-down Pier 39 meal.

The seating inside was a bit limited and taken up by other people, but there was an ample amount of seating around the SF Ferry Building (including outside) that we were able to seat ourselves at instead. I have to admit that my standards weren't high for this sandwich, but it genuinely tasted amazing. I have to say that it was probably one of the best sandwiches that I've ever had the opportunity to eat in all of California, and I'm unsure if I'll ever be able to encounter a sandwich that tops it. Overall, amazing. I'd happily come back here again during another SF trip, if I happen to be in the area.

A great fish market, too, for those who live in the area. My only knock is that the nearly all-community seating area is small and less than comfortable. Stop by and grab lunch to go!

Seafood is the name of the game whenever you're making your first stop around the San Francisco…read more With the help of Yelp, good seafood was easy to find. Around the downtown area, it sits in it's own restaurant section amongst the busy streets. Regardless of it being busy, a lot of the establishments around are a quick grab and go. Just like Basa Seafood, which means parking isn't an issue! ‍‍ The establishment looks Asian family run and neatly organized. When asking for suggestions or even recommendations amongst the mid size menu, the great cravings and great seafood is well within reach and can't go wrong Affordable reach, I should also mention. While poke isn't cheap, the restaurant provides great portions and doesn't slack on the rice or even the sauce to make the poke amazing! Amazing isn't even an understatement at this point especially too! We got our lucky hands on two things. The spicy salmon can be summed in two words; spicy and light. Thankfully, those words go hand in hand. While the spiciness doesn't overpower the salmon, the salmon itself has such a light and natural taste. Paired with green onions and rice, it makes any poke lover recognize each little taste pallete that it has to offer. Secondly, the fried calamari we had a chance of trying also came with a spicy mayo sauce. The calamari itself? Fried to perfection, still crispy when you bite into itself and together with the sauce, it makes for a perfect savory snack!
