But considering how fresh it is, the presentation, and the dining environment, it is worth it. It's a great place to take your friends and share a few plates. They advertise themselves as tapas style ceviche. Typically each person orders a main and a side and everyone can share. We did that with our three people and it was the perfect amount. We ordered the salmon nikkei, white fish, and tuna tataki. All were delicious because they combined great flavor with great texture. Each dish had a crunchy component, a sauce, and additional condiments such as onion, cilantro, or sesame to add extra depth in flavor. My favorite was definitely the salmon! It had mangoes, crunchy pine nuts, a generous dollop of guac, onions, and sesame seeds. The mains are around €15 each. For sides we got the mashed sweet potato (with cheese on top). This was really good! AND WARM. Most of the food here is cold and raw... so it was nice to have a warm bowl of starch. The quinoa salad was also good as a side. Provided extra texture and was lightly marinated. Guac and chips was also good, classic. Overall, I would highly recommend taking friends here! It's a very hip and clean environment with good vibes and good food.

As it happened, we spent a long touring day visiting Monet's Garden & House in Giverny and the Palace & Gardens at Versailles. By the time we got back to the hotel, we were too exhausted even to hunt for an eatery in Le Marais, so we stayed in. It was a large space with only a couple of tables occupied with guests. However, there was a constant stream of people walking through the restaurant to the taqueria bar in the next room. It was kinda odd, but since the hotel owns both places, I guess it's all in the family. We kept it pretty light and shared an appetizer and a main course, though we treated ourselves to a couple of their specialty desserts. First up was the 10€ Papas Rellenas, four crispy potato croquettes with minced beef and parsley mayonnaise (Photo 7). Our main dish was a bit smallish, the 17€ Escabeche de Poulet, a pair of fried chicken legs in aji panco sauce with sweet potato and olives (Photo 6). The chicken was tender with a crunchy coating. We finished off the meal with two desserts, first being the 9€ Alfajores. That was a shortbread biscuit in vanilla ice cream with a dulce con leche filling and chocolate-caramel glaze (Photo 8). The final treat was the 8€ Choux Nikkei, a pair of profiteroles filled with whipped cream, matcha tea, and lemon cream (Photo 10). A nice dining experience despite the walkthrough traffic and further proof of the melting pot of culinary choices in Le Marais. FOOD - 4 stars...small plates, quite delicious and truly Peruvian AMBIANCE...3.5 stars...atmospheric albeit with plenty of foot traffic SERVICE...just one industrious staff person TOTAL...4 stars...a unique alternative in Le Marais RELATED - Exploring Paris? We started with a special starter of octopus, salmon and ceviche that was absolutely gorgeous, topped with a sweet but spicy Peruvian sauce. For our mains my boyfriend had a wok style spaghetti with beef and I had salmon with prawns and mashed potatoes. I was a little disappointed on the mains on offer, a little overpriced and not a huge choice. We finished with a Peruvian corn-based dessert and a moelleux chocolat. Along with a carafe of red wine our bill came to just over 70 euros. If I return, I'll probably grab some tapas dishes for my main as there was a lot more choice and variety there! The restaurant is very spacious and you can turn up with or without a reservation to be greeted by very friendly staff!

The meat actually tasted like latin american meat and the dishes were not too spicy. The starters range from 7 to 10 euros, you can also find tapas assortments for 18 euros. The dishes are somewhere between 15 and 20 euros. Deserts are around 7 euros and we also had half a bottle of wine for 13 euros. Overall it was a really good experience and I would definetely recommand this place for a diner. They have a wide bench aswell as separated tables so it can work both for romantic diners and diners with friends!
