This place was perfect. We were walking up the hill to the Basilique du Sacré Coeur de Montmartre and found it on accident but I'm so glad we did. They had the best empanadas that I've ever eaten anywhere on the planet and I'm not exaggerating. I've had them all over and in many different countries in Latin America. If you are visiting Paris and staying near here, I would highly recommend this place. Also they speak French and Spanish so that made it easy for us to communicate with them because I'm a native Spanish speaker. read more

Those little hot pockets of gem!!! It was a little hole in the wall place is is not to be reckoned with. I ordered a cheese with tomato and basil filling that was wrapped in a flaky pastry. Just be careful when you bit into the pastry so you don't scorch your mouth. We just so happened to stumble into this little shop on our was to Montmartre. It was a good find but my only complaint is that the line was out the door due to the place being so small. read more

Passed by on my way to the traín and was sucked in by the smell. The scent of empanadas aré so strong and the employee was constantly baking a new batch! It's a tad on the pricey side but every meal in París is expensive. I committed to the cheese, tomato and basil empanada and it was a safe choice. I felt like I was eating a mini expensive pizza. We came here TWICE during our time in Paris! It's located near the bottom of the Sacre-Coeur in Montmartre, so we'd pass it on the way to/from our Airbnb. I highly recommend the spinach, spicy chicken, and chorizo! And get one of those little peanut bars while you're in there too! read more

Stumbled upon this little gem on our way to Sacre Couer and was enticed by the empanadas on the window counter. The food is home made and very appetizing. The best flavor ever and they also serve you a bottle wine if you want!!!! I had 5 empanadas and I wanted more that's how good this place is. We stumbled across this eatery and were drawn in by the delicious smell. We had the tomate y albahaca empanada and the pollo empanada. Both were delicious then followed up with the empanada manzana y canela which was also delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return here to eat. read more

One of my favorite places in Paris! I know it's odd, but out of everything I ate while I was in Paris for a week, this place was among the most memorable! Can you believe it? This Argentinian restaurant stole the spotlight while I was in France from French cuisine! I'm from New York, where there's lots of empanada places to choose from, but none compare to La Porteña in Paris. These empanadas are flaky, delicious and generous in size. Along with the empanadas, patrons are served a delicious house salad and you can pair the meal with a wine or beer of choice. The space is simple and comfortable. The hosts are engaging and kind. I'm missing this place now but i'm unfortunately back in the states. It just means that i'll have to return to Paris sooner rather than later. read more

The day before I had eaten Argentina style empanadas at another place in Paris and was quite disappointed but this place redeemed empanadas for me. They were so delicious. This place is such a rare gem!!! My husband is from Argentina and that's why I ate all kind of empanadas, in Argentina and other countries, and these are seriously the best empanadas I have ever tried! My advice is to skip a lunch or dinner at least once and come to this place for delicious empanadas. I like the ones with meat and with tomato/basil/mozzarella a lot! And the service is so great! I've tried a lot of empanadas. I love them. What's not to like about meat in pastry? But these empanadas were actually exceptional, moist and juicy, very homemade taste, generous in size and served with a nice little side salad. Matched with Argentinean wine, on a super cute street in Montmartre and baby, you are in Paris and loving it.
