It was decent sized too and they had well stocked produce and butcher sections. Employees were friendly for the most part, but I can't get past the pricing - the Angels Food Market is in the middle of nowhere - who is paying these prices?! Overall, I appreciated the store, and it had all the items we needed, but I don't know if we would stop in again.

What's kinda crazy is that the pricing here feels on-par if not just as expensive as whole foods but since there aren't many options in the area for groceries, it does what it needs to do. Some of our must-haves whenever we shop here are the rock-it apples and their jalapeno cheddar bagels and jalapeno cheddar sandwich rolls. Their hot food is actually pretty solid. You can get a family fried chicken meal for $25 or if you are wing person like myself, the salt and vinegar wings are a solid snack to have at the house. The alcohol is a little bit on the expensive side, but at least the selection is pretty solid. We've come here a lot over the years and it's never super busy. Definitely need to be part of their rewards program because that's where the deals are. Plenty of parking as well, makes this a super convenient supermarket to shop at.

I stop in here occasionally to pick up a sandwich and a few things before heading up into the mountains. The last couple of times I've been in, I've been waited on by the same employee. I treated her with nothing but kindness and respect, yet for some reason she treated me like I had personally done something to her. Her attitude was hostile, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for. The first time it happened, I was honestly baffled. Even her coworkers appeared shocked by the way she was speaking to and treating me. I figured maybe she was having a bad morning and gave her the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, on my next visit, the exact same thing happened with the exact same employee. Once again, I was polite to her, and once again she acted like she had some kind of personal vendetta against me. Her coworkers again seemed visibly uncomfortable with her behavior. At this point, I'm done spending my money here. I have no idea what this employee's problem is, but customers should not be treated this way--especially customers who have done absolutely nothing except walk in, be polite, and spend money at your business. Apparently, they don't need the business--or at least not mine.

Safeway has been bringing it lately…read more If you read many of my past grocery store reviews - you will quickly learn that I get sooooo much genuine bliss from visiting local grocery stores. I've even dedicated whole birthdays - to visiting grocery stores. Perusing well stocked aisles - especially when the words 'organic' and 'natural' grace them - is where I often get my dopamine highs :) Recently Safeway has been serving up some solid grocery store finds. Their berry selection has been 'berry' good. In fact their blueberries are some of the best around. I will often stock up on multiple cartons and will even freeze some of them for cold fruity weekday snacks. In addition to carrying solid berries - their produce selection in general is varied and reliable. I still adore Grocery Outlet and many of the other quality grocery stores in and around the area - but when I have a basic shopping list - I know that Safeway knows what's up. Though the current handleless paper bags are definitely not serving. Anyone. Trust.

Any household needs will be found here, under one roof. 4 stars instead of 5 because the staff isn't the most welcoming. They do their job and keep it strictly as that. There is little to no interaction beyond checking out and processing payment. Not a deal breaker for me but I can see it being an issue for others.

At 7:01, an announcement came on saying the store had been closed for one minute and to head to the register. Totally fair. I needed one more thing from produce so I hurried- another announcement at 7:02 said to "stop shopping- we are closed" I grabbed my last item and went up front. By 7:03, I was already being checked out. And yet the reaction from staff was... unbelievable. There were several employees standing at the front just staring at me--clearly irritated, like I'd personally ruined their evening. It was three minutes past closing. Not 30. Not 15. Three. Then it somehow got worse. They were out of bags (understandable), so I asked if I could use the hand basket to carry my items to my car, which was literally parked right in front of the doors to the store. I was told no, "these baskets cant leave the store"--and that I needed to go outside and get a cart instead. So I had to run out, grab a cart, and come back in... while the entire staff stood there watching me. There must have been 6 or 7 employees glaring at me with dirty looks like I had insulted them personally. The older checker was grumpy and rude, but honestly the whole team contributed to making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming. I completely understand wanting to close on time. But if ringing someone up at 7:03 feels like a crisis to your staff, that's a management issue--not a customer problem. Also- why not sell reusable bags if you run out of bags so often? I would have bought one to make it faster for me to exit the store. Seems like a simple solution to avoid the extreme stress your staff is experiencing

I saw some cute items, but since Dollar General isn't a dollar store- more of a bargain store, the deals weren't appealing enough to purchase any of my finds. As we were checking out some of the employees were yelling to one another about staffing the check out and being understaffed. It made me wonder if they wanted customers to overhear and say something to management on their behalf. Not the normal customer experience we are used to and we hope the staffing issues get better. They do have a parking lot, which makes it easy to stop in and there are definitely some fun items hidden amongst the inventory for every occasion.
