I do shop this store frequently because of the prices, not to mention the store is clean and the staff are great, and only buy certain things since they don't stock everything and you have to look out for near expiration or already expired dates.....I was doing great until now. I shopped this past Friday and bought two gallons of milk with 10/16 best buy dates. Both jugs contained curdled milk so completely out of milk and at 5:50am. Getting ready to head to Starbucks for coffee (thank God they are already open) but going forward, 1 less item NOT to buy from Grocery Outlet despite "good dates".......I don't know how Grocery Outlet would be at fault here since the jugs were factory sealed and they had stamped dates that were suppose to be valid but consumers have to be careful with outlets. read more

Everyone is always so nice here. I usually like to go here to buy things I usually don't really need, since their products change from time to time. So if you're in search of your regular holy grail items, don't be discouraged if you don't see it here. Try something new :) You'll find products that are half the price here versus going to another big box store. read more

My wife and I have shopped here for months since buying our second home in Arnold. We've spent thousands of dollars on groceries and other specialty items that GO tends to get at very good prices. I've personally communicated with the manager in past visits about wine etc. My experience today with this manager was incredibly insulting and humiliating. While manning the cart while my wife shopped, I was summoned by the manager to follow him. Not suspecting anything, I did. He took me to the first aisle to a location where he accused me of shoplifting and wanted to know what I put in my pocket, that the camera saw "somethiing". I told him I didn't and asked him to show me where this stolen item was on me. What was he accusing me of stealing? After realizing I had nothing he said "I guess I'll have to take your word for it," and "unfortunately this is the way things are." No, he made the choice to make it this way. To accuse a good customer of shoplifting without real proof was shocking and I continue have hope that this had nothing to do with the fact that I'm a person of color and was in my work clothes. Either way, this was a gut-punch to a person who really tries to think the best of folks. Sadly, after talking to an employee there, it's apparently common practice for this manager. They said he was paranoid. Don't get me wrong, I owned multiple successful businesses for over 35 years and take them very seriously. Yet, I would never accuse, insult, and humiliate my best customers by being reckless and very unprofessional. I got kicked out of the grocery outlet for having a cat as a service animal. They told me that only dogs and small ponies were allowed to be service animals, and the supervisor was allergic to cats, so I needed to leave. read more

Never shopped at Grocery Outlet until it came to Valley Springs. Love this store as the prices are awesome. I do watch the expiry dates and when they are close the price goes down so I stock up. Beer and wine prices are better than anything else I have seen. Purchased Fentimans Bitter Lemonade and it is incredible, I love it. Problem is its not in stock, PLEASE order, more this stuff is an incredible mixer or great to drink as it is. Staff is very friendly and helpful, very glad this store came to our town. While Grocery Outlet doesn't carry everything we want, the items we have purchased are high quality, and the clerks and cashiers are so nice. Was overjoyed to find the Impossible Burger, Beyond Meat vegan 'meat' items at amazing prices, and their large containers of fresh baby spinach are the best prices we have found at any store between Jackson and Angels Camp. Sign up for their daily emails that show the sale items of the day and you will find amazing items. Also appreciate how even shopping their every few weeks for four months the checkers always say 'thank you Beth' when I check out. read more

Love the store itself. Frequently visit and find a lot of good deals however lately seems the checkout experience leaves a lot to be desired. Gals talking to each other, sometimes 3 at the checkout, rather than focusing on customers. One checking one bagging and one just conversing with the other two. A great addition to our little town. Like all grocery outlets, you have to be aware of expiration dates. Grocery outlets receive overflow stock from other stores, so some things are close to expiring or already expired. I personally love shopping here. Its not a fully stocked store, so you may not be able to get everything you need here. But when you're on a budget, your money goes pretty far here. Because they are brand new, its very nice inside. The concept behind Grocery Outlet stores is they concentrate on closeouts and bargains. I don't believe they claim to be a full-service grocery store -- no deli, for example. And some food items there may only be there a short time. They have fresh food items, but concentrate on frozen food items. Frozen prepared food generally is higher fat, sugar, and salt. Check the food nutrition labels! The thing Grocery Outlet has over all other Valley Springs competition is lower prices for everything from milk and dairy products to bread and cookies! Milk for example can be nearly $2/gallon less!!! Their bacon wrapped steak is only something like $4 for two smallish fresh round steaks. Delicious! This new Grocery Outlet was larger than other Grocery Outlets I've been to in the Bay Area. Staff was friendly. The store is sort of tucked away behind other stores. I was VERY, VERY happy to see some grocery competition in Valley Springs! And lower prices!!! read more

The BEST Grocery Outlet. Service is always fast. If a line appears, they always open another register. Shelves are stocked and tidy at all times. They have cool seasonal stuff that always gets me. Not all Grocery Outlets are this well run sadly. read more

I liked GroceryOutlet. But after waiting for this one to open, I liked them a lot less. They card everyone, even people in their 60s. In addition, they record your drivers license in their computers. I consider this irritating in the first, but a major invasion of privacy in the second. And the employees never know if they have something (and they don't check). They just tell you where to look. Really not service 101. Poor training by . They also exaggerate savings hugely. You will find good deals on some canned goods, lunch meat can be very good and potato chips as well as Closeout items from other stores. Bread, dairy, soda and things like these are less, but they claim them to be 40 to 70 percent less. It's closer to 10 percent on these items and the prices they list as regular is just not true. No one charges the prices they claim, not even stores we all complain about being high. It would be better if they were truthful. read more

Went into the store today and discovered 90% of the people not wearing a mask. I felt very uncomfortable and just plain unsafe. I asked to talk to the owner and he was an absolute jerk. No wonder Valley Springs is such a hot spot of Covid. Should be "no shirt no shoes no mask no service." I will not step foot in the store again because of that. What a bunch of unpatriotic idiots who obviously only about themselves and not their fellow man. Crazy! read more

After months of anticipation opening day finally arrived. To say a disappointment is an understatement. I was so hoping this store would be a true saving grace for our little town. This is a micro mini version of a normal size Grocery Outlet, which while better than what we had, did not show an improvement from the normal service levels found everywhere else in town. Was very disappointed in the interaction with the owner when I asked if they would be carrying any local wines. Hoping the level of customer service and wine selection improves with time. Will go back only because our only local option. read more
