I had the absolute pleasure of working with Rod and Natalie designing a ring that would replace the wedding ring that I had lost. I was heart broken that I had lost my ring and was unsure of whether I wanted to replace it, duplicate it, design something new or just live without one. They listened to my entire wish list, worked within my budget and helped me to tweak the design until we came up with the final ring that fits my lifestyle today. It turned out to be the perfect ring and is absolutely beautiful. I could not be happier. It was also a really fun experience working with Rod and Natalie. I would not hesitate to use Sonora Jewelry for any of my future jewelry needs. I even had them resize my father's childhood signet ring. Thanks for a wonderful experience and thanks for truly caring about making my it perfect and stress free. read more

I can't say enough great things about Sonora Jewelry! If you're looking for a place that truly values honesty and fairness, this is it. Louis and Natalie are incredibly genuine people who make the entire process comfortable and stress-free. When I brought in my gold and silver, they took the time to explain everything clearly--how items are evaluated, current market values, and exactly how they determine pricing. There was no pressure, no confusion--just transparency and respect. What really stood out was how fair their offer was. It's obvious they care about treating customers right, not just making a quick profit. That kind of integrity is rare these days. If you're thinking about selling jewelry, gold, or silver, I highly recommend Sonora Jewelry. Louis and Natalie have built a business you can truly trust, and I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

This place is AMAZING. The owners are some of the nicest people ever and so honest and kind. They helped me with an extremely sentimental necklace that was my father's. They could have just remade it like I thought I wanted. But instead they showed me how it was actually white gold that was just really dirty. They made it look brand new and fitted it with the perfect chain. They will have my business for generations! read more

Very helpful and accommodating staff and beautiful jewelry! I was on a scavenger hunt last weekend and I needed to take pictures of 3 elements. I went into the store and asked if I could take pictures of their jewelry and told them what I was specifically looking for. The staff was very helpful and accommodating and pointed out each of the 3 elements I was looking for; gold, diamond, and platinum (and silver as an extra one). All the jewelry was beautiful, especially the platinum ring they showed me. Thank you so much to the staff for being so courteous! read more

As a young male homo sapiens, I adhere to my species mating ritual of finding a shiny rock and presenting it to a fertile female on one knee. This mating ritual is usually done at dusk, but can also be done during familial gatherings. Chance of success in securing the mate depend on the shiny-ness, durability, and size of the rock. However, this young male human had no idea on how to procure such a rock. Sadly, this young male was plagued by a disease that is common to his type. This disease is called "studentloandebt." So, he heads to Sonora Jewelry, a local rock shaman. Young male found some old rocks from his potential mate's mother and presented them to Sonora Jewelry as an offering. The resident rock Shaman not only educated the young male to all the different types of rocks, but also accepted his rocks and promised to re-craft them and make them prettier. Over the next few months, the rock Shaman and the young male worked closely to craft the shiney-est, largest, and most durable rock that could be afforded in light of the disease of "studentloandebt." The end result was a gorgeous ring that is called "halo." Rock shaman even put a spell on it called "vanilla gold" which prevents the ring from corroding. So, the day of the mating ritual came. The young male failed in performing the ritual at dusk, because he miscalculated the sunset times. The young male was nervous, and his appearance was distorted by a thick layer of sweat. As the female was about to turn down the male's advances, he presented the shiny rock, as a last ditch effort. Luckily, the female was swooned by the shiny rock. She accepted the young male's efforts and now they are in a period of tribulation called "engagement" And it was all thanks to the Shamans at Sonora Jewelry. Thank you! read more

I managed to warp and bend my platinum engagement ring. I drove from Murphys to Sonora after reading Yelp reviews of Sonora Jewelry, by passing Arnold and Angel's Camp jewelry stores. My friend and I were on a pleasure drive on a Saturday and headed for the foothills. We ended up in Sonora and were just going to take a look at the stores along the boardwalk when we stumbled upon Sonora Jewelry Design. Being a prospector, my friend wondered if they would have samples of Melones gold, which is shaped like melon seeds naturally and is, seemingly, rare and from this area. What a delight we had in meeting Rod and Natalie who were so warm and friendly, welcoming my friends's request, though they didn't have any of that type of gold. It ended up being a teaching session--both ways--of gems and the like and us looking at quite a lot of their inventory with descriptions and sales points about each piece. They also had antique pieces for me to look at as well. We will be returning to look for those special items to add to the jewelry box. Prices took into account the area in which they are located. Thanks, Natalie and Rod, for adding to an already special day for us. read more

I stopped in on a whim to see if these nice folks could repair a ring whose side stone had gone missing. My ring was repaired promptly, beautifully and with a minimum of fuss. With my 15th wedding anniversary approaching, I reached out to Sonora Jewelry about designing me a custom piece to match my very unique engagement ring. Natalie walked me through my options with doing that while also discussing my budget. Through our discussion, Natalie realized that she had something almost exactly like what I was asking for. Turns out it was a perfect match. I went in to see it and Rod and Natalie continued to be amazing with walking me through the process for resizing my engagement ring and possibly soldering the two together. They took their time to explain things to me, and we able to resize my engagement ring without any issue. Louis called me twice to follow up on the status of the rings and it was ready to be picked up within a week. I am so thankful to all three of them for their time and flexibility. Natalie was incredibly kind and helpful. I saw some opal rings in the window and couldn't help but stop in. Opals are my daughters birthstone and she had just turned 1. There was a beautiful one that caught my eye and I ended up purchasing it on the spot. Natalie was so sweet to spend the time chatting with me, teaching me all about the new vanilla gold and having the ring sized to fit by the next day. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in town. Thanks Natalie! read more

I recently got engaged, and needed to have my ring sized down. I went into Sonora jewelry earlier this afternoon to price check what they would charge and the owner kindly explained to me that the way in which my ring is designed he didn't want to risk any of the diamonds falling out and suggested that I take it back to the company in Modesto where I have a warranty. He could have taken my $50 bucks and not told me anything, but instead was honest with me. So even though I wasn't able to get my ring sized, I highly recommend Sonora jewelry! I will definitely be coming back when it's time to get my wedding set. read more

Decided after 40 years to redo my wedding rings and incorporate a diamond bracelet that was my moms. Natalie and Louis walked me through ideas and I ended up with two beautiful custom wedding rings. They made the process of "letting go with the old" very easy and I love that I can wear them together or each separately. The main diamond is not set high so I no longer have to worry about scratching grandbabies when playing or changing diapers. The whole process from beginning to end was a joy and I love the greeting when I step in the door. Excellent service and I am the proud owner of a modern wedding set. read more

I stumbled upon this jewelry store in need of getting a chain fixed. It was a very fine chain so Louis didn't even charge me because he was afraid it wouldn't hold. Well it is. So off course when my mother in laws very old silver locket wouldn't clasp, I took it right in. He took one look at it and the clasp was fixed in less than a minute while I waited. Once again, Louis didn't charge me. Not very often do you find a business with such great customer service. I would recommend this place to anyone. I would trust this jewelry store with expensive jewelry to costume jewelry. read more
