A beautiful Amethyst to replace my old wedding ring
    Shari W.

I brought in my wedding ring & they honestly appraised it as non-repairable. I found a beautiful replacement ring! They are a very low-pressure local jeweler. Grateful they are in town. They sized my ring for me onsite. :)

As a young male homo sapiens, I adhere to my species mating ritual of finding a shiny rock and presenting it to a fertile female on one knee. This mating ritual is usually done at dusk, but can also be done during familial gatherings. Chance of success in securing the mate depend on the shiny-ness, durability, and size of the rock. However, this young male human had no idea on how to procure such a rock. Sadly, this young male was plagued by a disease that is common to his type. This disease is called "studentloandebt." So, he heads to Sonora Jewelry, a local rock shaman. Young male found some old rocks from his potential mate's mother and presented them to Sonora Jewelry as an offering. The resident rock Shaman not only educated the young male to all the different types of rocks, but also accepted his rocks and promised to re-craft them and make them prettier. Over the next few months, the rock Shaman and the young male worked closely to craft the shiney-est, largest, and most durable rock that could be afforded in light of the disease of "studentloandebt." The end result was a gorgeous ring that is called "halo." Rock shaman even put a spell on it called "vanilla gold" which prevents the ring from corroding. So, the day of the mating ritual came. The young male failed in performing the ritual at dusk, because he miscalculated the sunset times. The young male was nervous, and his appearance was distorted by a thick layer of sweat. As the female was about to turn down the male's advances, he presented the shiny rock, as a last ditch effort. Luckily, the female was swooned by the shiny rock. She accepted the young male's efforts and now they are in a period of tribulation called "engagement" And it was all thanks to the Shamans at Sonora Jewelry. Thank you!

I absolutely adore this jewelry store and the awesome people who run it!!! Natalie remembered us from two years ago and I remembered the custom ring they were working on and my husband brought me here to have them make me my very own custom ring for our 30th Wedding Anniversary present after losing the diamond is my other ring! I'm so excited and can't wait to see my completed ring!!!

Each piece is infused with love and care. Her jewelry is handmade, elegant and inspired by nature. The main materials that she uses in her pieces are "gemstones, crystals, copper, brass, sterling silver, leather and stainless steel." (taken from her website). I am always drawn to her delicate butterfly pieces, and I love her bee jewelry pieces as well - https://www.jill-king.com/shop. Not only is Jill a talented artist who takes her time crafting each piece, but she is a wonderful person. She's warm and intuitive and those qualities are beautifully reflected in her art: "The gemstone jewelry that I create is beneficial to the wearer in a multitude of ways. Benefits may include: healing, clearing, clarity, balance, love, joy, grounding, and abundance. The crystals and gemstones can assist you with intention setting, accelerating healing on all levels, and manifesting what you desire." (taken from her website) She's continually growing as a jewelry maker and I've been really digging her latest welded pieces. If you're looking for a special gift for yourself or a friend - definitely check out Jill's magical gemstone jewelry. Also if you see a piece (https://www.instagram.com/jill_king_artist/ -) that she's created previously that you like - I recommend reaching out to her to see if she can do a similar piece (or potentially even something custom). Trust.

When the new owners took over in November of 2022, they renamed the store Rustic Rose Mercantile. From my understanding, I believe that the new owners kept much of the same vibe/ambiance as Rustic Roses, but they have added even more local artists and color to the store's whimsical displays. I stopped in here recently. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. He was helpful whenever I had questions about their inventory. I didn't have much time to browse, due to time constraints, but I did spy a plethora of fun finds during my brief visit. I ended up purchasing a 'soft edged arrowhead shaped piece of what I believe is jade strung on a cord' necklace. The gentleman behind the counter (who I believe may be one of the owners) explained that a local family makes the necklaces and that they bring them by the store to be sold. Many of Rustic Rose Mercantile's showcased jewelry artists are local. Jill King is one my favorite local jewelry artists - and she has a stunning turquoise necklace being sold here - along with her other well crafted jewelry pieces. In addition to a plethora of local and vintage jewelry items, Rustic Rose Mercantile has decor items, clothing, candles, antiques, crafts and much more. Everywhere you look inside this spacious spot - you'll find something new. They even rent out a decent sized portion of their store to a local comic book seller/collector. My new jade necklace rests on me as I type this. I love the way that the coldness of the stone warms against me. Locally made warmth. Trust.

Alex has an incredible eye for design not just in her own pieces, but in how she understands people. She has this rare ability to think like her customers and help create spaces and styles that genuinely fit who they are. That kind of empathy is hard to find, and it's what sets her apart. The clothing and items she curates are not only beautiful but comfortable. They are the kind of pieces you reach for again and again. Every item feels thoughtfully chosen, with quality and style working together effortlessly. But what really makes Alex stand out is who she is beyond the shop. She is deeply invested in her community and consistently goes the extra mile for others. She has personally helped my son, who has a congenital heart defect, more times than I can count. That kind of care and follow-through for customers she hardly knows says everything. She's also one of those rare people who "knows a guy" in the best way possible. Her ability to network, connect people, and open doors is remarkable. She brings people together in a way that's both natural and impactful, and you can see that reflected in both her business and her life. I bought my daughter a beautiful hand crocheted blanket for her eighth birthday from this store. Finding my daughter asleep, comfortably wrapped in said blanket, every morning since she unwrapped the beautiful blue and white blanket is such a joy. This is more than just a boutique it's a place built by someone who truly cares. And that truly makes all the difference in every item sold.
