When the new owners took over in November of 2022, they renamed the store Rustic Rose Mercantile. From my understanding, I believe that the new owners kept much of the same vibe/ambiance as Rustic Roses, but they have added even more local artists and color to the store's whimsical displays. I stopped in here recently. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. He was helpful whenever I had questions about their inventory. I didn't have much time to browse, due to time constraints, but I did spy a plethora of fun finds during my brief visit. I ended up purchasing a 'soft edged arrowhead shaped piece of what I believe is jade strung on a cord' necklace. The gentleman behind the counter (who I believe may be one of the owners) explained that a local family makes the necklaces and that they bring them by the store to be sold. Many of Rustic Rose Mercantile's showcased jewelry artists are local. Jill King is one my favorite local jewelry artists - and she has a stunning turquoise necklace being sold here - along with her other well crafted jewelry pieces. In addition to a plethora of local and vintage jewelry items, Rustic Rose Mercantile has decor items, clothing, candles, antiques, crafts and much more. Everywhere you look inside this spacious spot - you'll find something new. They even rent out a decent sized portion of their store to a local comic book seller/collector. My new jade necklace rests on me as I type this. I love the way that the coldness of the stone warms against me. Locally made warmth. Trust.

What an adorable shop! This store has the perfect combination of trendy men's and women's clothing,…read morerustic clothes and accessories, and antiques. You can find something for anyone in this store! The owner is super nice and told us all about any item we had questions on. Prices are fair here and I would for sure be back!

If you're in Sonora, you need to visit The Groovey Shack on Washington Street!…read more Owned by Alex Morehouse, this shop is something truly special. Alex has an incredible eye for design not just in her own pieces, but in how she understands people. She has this rare ability to think like her customers and help create spaces and styles that genuinely fit who they are. That kind of empathy is hard to find, and it's what sets her apart. The clothing and items she curates are not only beautiful but comfortable. They are the kind of pieces you reach for again and again. Every item feels thoughtfully chosen, with quality and style working together effortlessly. But what really makes Alex stand out is who she is beyond the shop. She is deeply invested in her community and consistently goes the extra mile for others. She has personally helped my son, who has a congenital heart defect, more times than I can count. That kind of care and follow-through for customers she hardly knows says everything. She's also one of those rare people who "knows a guy" in the best way possible. Her ability to network, connect people, and open doors is remarkable. She brings people together in a way that's both natural and impactful, and you can see that reflected in both her business and her life. I bought my daughter a beautiful hand crocheted blanket for her eighth birthday from this store. Finding my daughter asleep, comfortably wrapped in said blanket, every morning since she unwrapped the beautiful blue and white blanket is such a joy. This is more than just a boutique it's a place built by someone who truly cares. And that truly makes all the difference in every item sold.

In elementary school I would do interpretive dances to classic 60's and 70's radio hits. If someone calls me a hippie - I consider it the ultimate compliment. Sooooo it makes sense that Groovy Shack makes my heart sing. I love that they feature quality vintage wares and goods in this beautifully decorated store. I especially love that they have Bjorn Vintage. Bjorn Vintage is beyond what's up. If you you reside in the area - and if you are not yet familiar with Bjorn Vintage - make sure you remedy that - by making a trip to Groovy Shack to check out their on point selection of unique vintage treasures. Trust.
