Everything in this intimate store of carefully chosen gifts and homeware etc - was so charming. There were cute jars of jam, quaint hand towels, soothing salves, nourishing tea, lovely dinner plates, elegant candleholders, rustic pillows, colorful oven mitts, fragrant candles, gourmet caramels - and much much more. You can tell that the owner takes true pleasure in sourcing each item in this magical store and that each item has been placed with genuine care. I think this may be my new favorite store in Sonora. We had such a great time at this antique shop in downtown Sonora! The lady at the counter was super nice and even let my kids each pick out a sticker, which totally made their day! They also serve ice cream, which was a perfect surprise -- we got two kid-sized scoops (rainbow sherbet and strawberry), and my kids were all smiles.

The owner is genuinely kind, thoughtful, and grounded in her values and it shows in every part of the store and how she treats her customers. We picked up a shirt for my husband, and it has quickly become his favorite. He has been wearing it nonstop. The quality is excellent, and the cut is unique (it's styled like a muscle tee), which we always love. But more than anything, it's the atmosphere that stands out. The whole space feels peaceful, positive, and encouraging like you're being welcomed, not just sold to. It's the kind of place you want to support because the heart behind it is real. If you're in Sonora, it's absolutely worth stopping in.

From my understanding, I believe that the new owners kept much of the same vibe/ambiance as Rustic Roses, but they have added even more local artists and color to the store's whimsical displays. I stopped in here recently.The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. He was helpful whenever I had questions about their inventory. I didn't have much time to browse, due to time constraints, but I did spy a plethora of fun finds during my brief visit. I ended up purchasing a 'soft edged arrowhead shaped piece of what I believe is jade strung on a cord' necklace. The gentleman behind the counter (who I believe may be one of the owners) explained that a local family makes the necklaces and that they bring them by the store to be sold. Many of Rustic Rose Mercantile's showcased jewelry artists are local. Jill King is one my favorite local jewelry artists - and she has a stunning turquoise necklace being sold here - along with her other well crafted jewelry pieces. In addition to a plethora of local and vintage jewelry items, Rustic Rose Mercantile has decor items, clothing, candles, antiques, crafts and much more. Everywhere you look inside this spacious spot - you'll find something new. They even rent out a decent sized portion of their store to a local comic book seller/collector. My new jade necklace rests on me as I type this. I love the way that the coldness of the stone warms against me. Locally made warmth. Trust.

Then he has the audacity to lie to my face telling me he said I could come in when on the phone he told me "we're closed we'll fix it tomorrow" If you're going to overcharge someone an extra 600 dollars to their card and act to cavalier at least have the decency to want to fix the issue immediately.
