Discovered this hidden park within a lovely residential community in Dublin. Beautiful, well-kept, peaceful, spacious, and located in a safe neighborhood. Parking was easy to find on a Friday afternoon, near the playground side of the park.
Two playgrounds, for ages 2-5 and 5-12, consisted of swings and climbing structures, the play area small and simple just like the park itself. A well maintained wide open grassy meadow provided plenty of space for sports or picnicking, though not shaded as trees were mainly at the borders of the park. There were however a few picnic tables available under a pergola, so a bit of shade there.
The place isn't huge, but it was large enough to get a good workout, running laps along the concrete trail lining the park. A few benches for visitors to sit and relax while on the path as well. Unfortunately, a swarm of gnats and mosquitos in the air too, on this warm and pleasant day with spring season approaching.
No restrooms nor access to the clubhouse and lounge area attached to the park, except for Sorrento owners/residents. But the Piazza Tasso community facility and surrounding townhomes featured eye-catching italian style architecture, adding some charm to the place. My favorite part, I found a hare and tortoise sundial sculpture on site, which was simply adorable. read more
