Independence Park is located in South Livermore. It is part of Kettleman fields and the park has a bathroom although it is sometimes locked. Some picnic tables, a kids playground with a sand box and very big grassy areas where you can find many teams practicing sports. You can have your dogs on the leash. On the weekends, you usually find that some parents celebrate their kids birthday in the picnic tables near the playground. The parking lot yes on the entrance on Holmes Street. However, the playground is off further up the hill and far away from the parking lot. The grassy fields are also an area where some people let their dogs run off leash, even though this is not allowed, however I mentioned this so that you can be careful in case you are not comfortable around unleashed dogs. The parking lot on Holmes Street is also next to a pave the path that goes to Sycamore Grove how many people like to park here and then walk to it because they can save money on the parking fee, since it is free to park at Independence Park in Kellman fields. there are some picnic tables that also have grills.

Okay, here's the deal, we were at this park at around 2pm on a Tuesday. There were NO families, no kids, just a non-stop steady stream of random men walking to and from the bathroom. Is this park listed as a pit-stop somewhere? My mommy-senses felt extremely uncomfortable and I gathered my little kiddos and took off. The end.

It has a whimsical theme with giant oversized flowers that act as shade! Plus forest inspired play structures to climb. There was also a musical instrument area for kids to explore. I loved the four person see saw which was very unique! The giant sit and spin was fun for the kids too. I loved that this park had features you don't see just an ordinary park. It made this playground more a destination playground as I mentioned. It was worth the drive. I wouldn't drive an hour away for it, but 30 minutes was worth it. It was also very quiet when we went on a Sunday. We easily got a shaded picnic table to eat our lunch we had packed and then hit the playground. The playground was very clean too. The only down side was that the exercise equipment had some broken machines which was unfortunate, but all of the playground equipment was in working order. Both my kids enjoyed the park so it's great for a wide range of ages, even toddlers.

Parking is in a lot near the basketball courts and a short walk around the library. We especially like to come here for the shade!

And it was beautiful so who really won? I don't recall which trail we did, but the views were nice. There's not much shade along the trail we took so I'd say wear a hat if you can and stay hydrated. Once in a while, we saw a random cow walking along which was cool. This place is popular - we saw a lot of families and bicyclists when we were here.

The trail was absolutely beautiful, even with a light drizzle along the way. Rain or shine, we still show up and that's something I'm really proud of. I'm so happy to say that my stamina is getting stronger with every hike. Each time we head out, I can feel the progress. The hills feel a little less intimidating, the miles go by a little easier, and my confidence grows a little more. When we reached the top and looked out over Lake Del Valle, the view was breathtaking, calm, peaceful, and completely worth the climb. Moments like that remind me why I keep pushing forward. Growth doesn't happen overnight, but step by step, mile by mile, I'm getting better. And thank you, Hubby, for always motivating me and believing in me. Having someone by my side who encourages me to keep going makes all the difference. Here's to starting the Lunar New Year strong and continuing to chase every goal ahead of us.
