This place is OK. I'll give 3 stars for the service provided by the stylist and her assistant, but the behavior of the other employees was subpar at best.
I came into Piandre looking to get a balyage done, along with a trim. I saw that they had them for about 7000 pisos (for longer hair) which I thought was reasonable compared to many standard US salons who do basic dye jobs for way more. It was also PACKED inside, which was a good sign, right?
I didn't have an appointment but they let me do a walk-in, although I had to wait an hour. When I came back they seated me promptly; I got assigned a stylist (whose name I didn't catch) and she gave me a breakdown of the prices, asking if I found them reasonable. I'm not sure if this is a normal practice in the Philippines or not, but when a business posts its prices very clearly by the entrance, it should be assumed that you can read those numbers and make your assessments based on that, before even entering a place of business.
Anyway, I told them that I wanted what I wanted despite the price. The stylist went to the back to ready her materials, and I sat waiting for quite a while. I asked for a water and received a nice lukewarm glass about 15 minutes later. Finally, the stylist shows up and they get to work.
It took longer than normal to do my hair because of the texture and thickness, which I expected. Once they took me to the back to get the dye washed out, that's when the s***show started.
I noticed I was getting A LOT of stares while I was getting my hair washed, by employees and patrons alike. Many of them would come to the back to talk to my stylist and her assistant and just gawk at my hair and make comments. There were about 7-8 employees that did this, and it was very annoying. There were even a pair of two male employees who whispered to each other and started laughing, while looking straight at me. Like WTF? They were really trying to bring the New York out of me that day.
All in all, my hair came out nice but I will never be returning because of the service. The employees need to learn to check their behavior because if you're running a "luxury" salon, they sure need to act the part. read more
