I've been hearing raves about Brow Lounge's Sugar Waxing from my ex-colleagues so when I got the chance to have my waxing services done, I instantly thought about giving that studio a visit.
I've passed by their spot in Megamall a number of times and I've seen their price range. Unlike other waxing stations, they don't charge too high. An underarm service (if using sugar waxing, which is what they are known for) is only 150 pesos while a half leg service is only 300 pesos. Not bad right?
For sugar waxing though, the place requires for your hair to at least be half an inch long. When I went there, the hair on my legs were deemed too short so I had to go for the usual branded wax (400 pesos) but I got to try the sugar waxing on my underarm.
The waxing lady wasn't as chit-chatty as other girls I've met in my previous waxing adventures. But what she lacked in words, she made up for with precise and quick work. I swear, I got done with my half leg service in only 15 minutes! And it wasn't as painful as I was expecting it to be. I got a little bit worried that the service was done so fast that I dreaded there would be stray or ingrown hairs left behind. But fortunately, the waxing was clean. Definitely happy with that!
Next up, I got to try their infamous sugar waxing. It makes use of a sugar and lemon wax that they preheat and melt inside a microwave oven. Initially I thought it would be kind of like cold wax but it was actually still warm wax and they used strip papers to take it off. I couldn't say the pain was lesser than other stations that offer this service, as I've become way too used to it to decipher. But it was just like the usual hot/warm wax. I didn't notice any difference other than Brow Lounge's underarm waxing is cheaper. And anything cheap that efficient is always good in my book!
I'm definitely booking more trips here for my waxing needs. But I probably won't try their Brazilian or Bikini sugar waxing. I still prefer hard wax over strip waxing. read more
