I am reviewing this business because this the business info that showed up on my e-receipt, but I cannot find information anywhere under the name "Garage Door Express." This business seems to operate under multiple names, including "24/7 Garage Door Services" which has no address or local number and simply says on their receipt "Entire Metro Area," a very vague term. I needed to have a spring on my garage door replaced and I called around to several places for price quotes. Garage Door Express gave me the lowest price (but still within the ballpark) and they could come out the same day. So, I went ahead and booked them. The job seems to have been done appropriately and the technician arrived during the window I was quoted, but my major complaint is about the "gotcha" charging tactics and overcharging. As I was getting each quote from the different companies over the phone, I said that I needed a spring replaced on my two car garage. Each of the three acknowledged that I would need two springs. Then, each gave me a price, or ball park price. The quotes included springs and seemed to imply the labor cost. None of them mentioned a service fee. When the technician came out, he told me that the price that I was quoted was only the price for ONE spring. I needed two, plus there is a labor cost, plus a "service call" cost. So, my original quote was $120-$180. Instead, what I ended up paying was $512, plus tax. two springs - $165x2 approximately 45 minutes of labor - $189 the service charge - $49. I was given a 10% discount because I complained about the price. It seems incredibly unfair that they only quoted me the price of the product, when they knew I would probably need two springs and they also knew that I would be charged for the labor. I was not simply buying a part. I was also not told that the service charge would be included ON TOP of the labor cost. Additionally, it seems that this business does not use the same title. My written receipt (which has no address) is from "24/7 Garage Door Services" and an e-receipt that I got for my credit card payment was from "US 1 Locksmith Services" 13751 NE LAKE CITY WAY, SEATTLE, WA 98125. The three names seem like shady business practices and will possibly make it difficult for me to cash in on my Five Year Warranty I was promised. I wish I had not used this service!! These people will mess your day. They said it would cost $15 to come to my house and $35 to change one lock. When the technician (Neem the locksmith!) showed up (an hour late) he said that my lock was high security and it would cost much more. In fact, it would cost $185! I told the company over the phone the brand and model number of the lock. It cost me $40 at Ace, I don't think it is a high security lock. I respectfully declined his service, only to be met with a barrage of aggressive and manipulative coercion. He first said that the service call was actually $50 more, and also that if I didn't pay he would put a lien on my car(!) and call the police. I negotiated the service charge down to $45, and he offered to do the lock-changing for $75 but by this time I was fed up and had decided to call Ravenna Locksmith, who had the next lowest bid which was actually the lowest real bid. The invoice the guy gave me said "24/7 Locksmith Services" instead of Pi Locksmith, but the ad I originally clicked on took me to the website of Pi Locksmith and I called the number on there so I know it was them. I looked at the business license for Pi Locksmith (turned out it was actually "PI SECURITY SOLUTIONS"), and it turns out it is a trade name for a "US 1 Locksmith Services" run by one "Nimrod Gil", who I guess is the "Neem" I encountered. Only a disreputable company would hide behind a fake business name and lie about what they charge. Shame on you, Nimrod Gil! Don't call these shady guys, or you are in for a nightmare including lots of phone calls from guys with strange accents insulting you and also trying to get you to hire them at the same time. How does business work where these guys are from? They insult each other but also expect you to hire them if they offer to do a job for ten dollars less? I decided to just have two different keys and forget about locksmiths altogether. This is the Locksmith to use!!! I had a 'Smart Key' Kwikset lock on a front door that I did NOT have a key for. I was listing the home the very next day and I had to have realtors be able to access the front door with a working key, so time was of the essence! I had called Home Depot & they said I would have to buy a whole new set. I called a locksmith who actually came to my rental home and said there is No way this can be fixed using the original lock, that these locks can't be keyed. I had researched a youtube video on google which showed a clip that it could be done, but since it looked too complicated for a novice, I chose a locksmith to fix it for me. I tried to get the first locksmith to watch the video, but he only watched a couple minutes and then said, 'look if you can get someone to re key this I'll give you $100. !!! it can't be done!" While he was there I even called the Kwikset customer service & the lady also told me, it can NOT be done but I could order a new internal cylinder part! I was determined & chose to randomly select another locksmith, thankfully it was Pi Security Solutions. Nim came to my rental home that evening, & was very friendly & professional. He took off the lock and in just 15 minutes I had a working key! I am so grateful he saved me from having to go buy a new lockset or order parts which I had no time for. The first locksmith did wave his service call fee, and said, "well he must be a very good locksmith!" So look no further, Pi Security Solutions is the company to use when a locksmith is needed. read more

Ok so Nim is AMAZING!!!!! I'm doing this review at about midnight on a Monday, I was just able to get into my car for the second time because of Nim. He is fast smart and we'll just amazing. This is the second time we've had to call Nim at some god awful hour. The first was just a few months ago when my husband was about to come and get me from work and he flushed the key down the toilet. No joke flushed right down the lou. Don't ask me how but since we had just moved into an apartment on the second floor there was no option for removing it and fishing it out. That time Nim was right there helping us out and getting us a programed key from scratch for our Magnum. Now this time was much later and with the horrid traffic on I-5 south due to an accident Nim was still prompt and got right to work. Now seeing the same 2 people and the same car in the very same spot Nim got right to it. He even tried to get my husband out of trouble for loosing this key too. Not as good of story just dropped in the parking lot and was never found or turned in. But Nim was AMAZING yet again. I would recommend his services to anyone. He even cut us a deal for 2 keys this time and told us about locating devices that can be found online for keys lol. Great job Nim keep up the good work. Hope I never have to see you again lol. But if I ever get locked out again your number is programed in my phone. read more

Literally writing this review at 2:30 AM right now after this guy helped me get into my apartment that I accidentally locked myself out of. I came home after a late night closing shift at work to find that the chain was still on my front door (I had used the back door to leave, which I don't have a key to, and had locked it behind me - so I was locked out from both sides). Then my phone died, so I had no choice but to start knocking on my neighbors' doors asking if they had a screw driver so that I could detach the chain from the wall. So, since I guess I'm an incredibly lucky person, my downstairs neighbor answers his door and says he's a locksmith. He went back into his apartment to grab a tool kit, then comes back out and starts helping me get the door open. He talked to me about how he grew up in Israel and how this sort of thing - people needing help with locks late at night or early in the morning - would happen a lot there, but it doesn't happen so much here, so the incident reminded him of that. Anyway, he helped me get back into my apartment and was incredibly nice about it the whole time. Granted, I wasn't a paying customer, but I can't think of a single time in my life when I had better customer service than that. Super nice guy, clearly knows what he's doing, and he'll be the first person I call if I ever need a locksmith in the future. Five stars. read more

I am not impressed with the tardiness and lack of respect of this business. I called for an urgent service visit and scheduled a service visit the next day. On the day of the service, the Pi business owner called 3 hours before our scheduled service time and said he couldn't send anyone over. I am not happy but agreed to postpone the service to the day after. The new schedule is early in the morning, and I had to call someone in to wait for the service visit, only to receive a call 5 min later than the second agreed upon service time. The guy said he is stuck in traffic and will be an hour late. You can imagine the disappointment and frustration boiled up in me. I texted the owner about the situation. The owner called back and told me "We try our best to answer service calls. It takes time for us to come from one site to another. I don't appreciate you having a problem with this. If you don't need our service, we can cancel the visit today." I cancelled the visit immediately. I am appalled by the arrogant attitude. When you schedule a visit, customer expect you to be on time. Be respectable to other people's time. This is business and personal etiquette 101. If you cannot deliver, don't make the commitment. We will not call for any service from Pi in the future. read more

I was referred to Pi Security Solutions for a job replacing the locks and ignition and getting new keys cut for a late 90's Mitsubishi. It wasn't a completely straight-forward job as, it turned out, part of the mechanism was actually snapped deep inside the driver's side door. I appreciated Nim's communication from the beginning. (The initial service I contacted said they'd check if they had the parts and would call me back in five minutes. They didn't call back until the next day -- after I'd called twice and finally cancelled the request.) Nim worked with me on the timing I needed, was friendly and professional, and completed the job in the estimated time-frame. When I called about that tricky driver's side door, Nim came back and made it right in time to use the car for work Monday morning. While the entire project wasn't cheap, their prices are competitive and the fee purchased not only a task completed but responsiveness, professionalism, and follow-through. Finally, as I was replacing the car battery, Nim asked if I needed tools and actually helped with that too. Overall, a very good experience out of a bad situation. read more

I'm not sure what Molly is talking about, I think she may have the wrong company. The guys that showed up at our business were super personable, meticulous, and cleaned up after themselves (rare quality among contractors... haha). They were installing a keypad entry lock for my company. They warned me that I was using a door that would make the job a bit difficult, but I chose to proceed. I really like it when a company is transparent and gives you all the details up front instead of telling me after the work is done. As expected, the installation needed a tune up afterwards because the door was opening a little rough (what I had been warned about up front). When I called them to come out, they ended up correcting the problem for free even though I was fully expecting to be charged. It was my door's problem after all not theirs. Big Kudos to Pi Security for: giving me all the information up front, being transparent, doing a kick ass job, and going the extra mile to make me a happy customer. Thanks guys! This is my second review for pi security solutions, and again, only good words. Last night I was just about to finish my work day, when i realized my car keys are gone. I've called pi security again and about 15 mins later a technician arrived. I know that only to copy my car key in Home Depot is about $150-$200 so I knew It wasn't cheap. The technician took all the info he needed on the car, and 20 mins Later I had a new key for my car. Unfortunately, I have a pretty new car so it has An electronic chip in the key, which makes things a little pricy, but not as I thought: The key with the service call was only $275.58 after my 10% returning customer discount. Today morning I've checked, and at the dealership my key is $300(!!) And that was without the fact that I would probably had to tow my car to the dealership. Thank you again pi! read more

We wanted a spare key and a keyless remote programmed for our newly bought used car (better safe than sorry). I used the Yelp quote to get in touch with the company, I received a phone call within a few minutes and was able to schedule my appointment. I bought a key and a remote online in advance (you can find used remotes and new keys on specialized websites or even Amazon). The day of the appointment Nim made sure that I was informed that he was running a few minutes late. He was able to program the key even though some information about the car was not available to him (PIN). His devices did not pick up the signal from the fob I bought, he went above and beyond to try to get it to work. Overall we were very happy with the experience and were able to use the yelp voucher. P.S. I was able to use the Yelp Voucher ($100 for $50). read more

I recently had the experience of locking myself out of the house. Actually my roommate accidentally locked me out. She didn't realize that I didn't take my keys with me when I went out to check the mail. I went next door to use the phone and call her but she didn't answer. My neighbor offered to try and help me but we only made the situation worse because we ended up getting a piece of metal stuck in the keyhole. I ended up having to call a locksmith service. I called Pi Security Solutions because their ad indicated there wasn't a problem they couldn't solve. They weren't kidding. The guy came out and somehow managed to extract the piece of metal we jammed in the keyhole without damaging the actual lock. It was fast. He had me back inside in no time. My daughter locked herself out of her car 3 times in less than a 2-month period.  Yes, she was new to driving.  I called Pi Security the first time and the tech that went out to help her was very friendly and made her feel safe.  The second time I had to call they remembered her and joked with her about having her own personal locksmith.  So by the third time there was no question who I was calling.  I don't think I could have found better guys; they provided us great service and gave my daughter tips to help her remember to grab her keys before getting out of the car.  I called Pi Security all three times because they were very quick to help my daughter out and make us both feel safe.  They also allowed me to pay over the phone for the service they provided my daughter.  Thanks guys! I just purchased a home and needed to re-key the locks. I found Pi Security Solutions online and called for service. I wasn't expecting same day service, but was pleasantly surprised that it was available. 2 hours later and Valentin showed up to handle my locks. He was thorough in explaining what he would do and kept me abreast of any changes to the plan as he worked. I locked my keys in my trunk after setting my bag down to put in the groceries. I shut the trunk before grabbing it and found myself locked out without a phone too.
