Discovered this spot from a TikTok suggesting this as a stop along a WeHo happy hour crawl. They have a daily 3-6 pm happy hour that has a lot of great deals on drinks, appetizers, and even their raw bar. The service was really great, and we happened to come on a day that they were promoting Estrella beer, so we got some free samples. It lacks authentic touch tough, as compared to those mom and pop vietnamese restaurants. Never dined in, always pick up. You can park in the Trader Joe's garage with the Poinsettia and Fuller entrances but I believe you get only 1 hr free or you can try Romaine for free street parking. read more

Mortifying. The food was ok. The broth was a bit overwhelming and i could taste nothing else. I put about a gallon of sriracha and hoisin and still could taste neither. could not even taste any jalapeños. But that's not the issue. My friend liked their food i think. So they have this option of paying via phone. I dunno, i guess a qr code maybe. My friend paid, so I'm not quite sure. But anyway, we were catching up after about 3 years of not seeing one another and when the guy came and asked if we were done and wanted the check, we said not yet and my friend asked for another Diet Coke. They brought it but also the check with it. So he paid, I didn't know because we were still talking. Then when we were ready he said, I already paid. We can just go. I was like, "oh! Ok." So as we are walking outside the guy who gave us the check came aggressively barrelling out of the door and said "Did you pay?!?!?!" My friend said he did via whatever it was. The guy said "you have to show me" and it took me aback. So my friend fumbled around with his phone and had to go into something... maybe banking, maybe there's an app(?) but he was totally embarrassed. He showed him. Let's start with the positives for my first visit which was a take out order. You can order online but I'm a luddite of sorts and prefer calling my orders in so I appreciated that the person who took my order over the phone was accommodating and took care of business. The parking situation is awesome! I always come and shop at the shopping center Phorage shares with Trader Joe's and it's so easy getting in and out with their parking situation. I think it's free parking for the first hr. Now to the food. The vermicelli with Jidori chicken is quite delicious. Just great flavor and savory. This was the dish I ordered for my wife and she loved it and I tried a little bit of it and was sold on the first bite. Even my 2 yr old who's a picky eater and has been rejecting chicken as of late gobbled up his share. It came with a fried egg roll which was also tasty albeit greasy since whatever eggroll wrap they used seemed to hold in more cooking oil than I'm accustomed to but it's not a deal breaker. Now as for the Wagyu pho, it was packed well with the broth separated from the noodles and slices of beef but that's all the praise I have for it. Whatever recipe they're using for the broth is just not cutting it and needs to be replaced or seriously revamped. Sorry. Regardless, would definitely be coming back here for the vermicelli with Jidori chicken and try out other dishes but will avoid the pho. read more

Stopped by Phorage for a quick bite - They offer happy hour M-F for some drink and food specials. The vibes of this restaurant is perfect. Natural light, lots of seating, fun decor, and neon lights. They have a large bar that serves liquor, natural wine, and beer. I got the shrimp and pork spring roll minus the pork. The rice paper was super soft which I appreciate and the shrimp was large. What I didn't love was the lack of herbs included in the spring roll. It was mainly lettuce and not enough mint. I actually couldn't taste the mint at all. The peanut sauce also didn't taste authentic. One of the reviews said it had mayo in it? I think Phorage is worth checking out during happy hour so you can try a couple things on the menu and decide what you like. Super cute and vibey restaurant! read more

Even though it's good, don't get it if you're very hungry. Pho and Bun Bo hue's broth both literally tasted like water. If it were just my broth (BBH) I would've looked past it but my bf's pho broth was the same. We had to ask our server for cooking fish sauce from the back kitchen just to add some kind of flavor to our broth. I've been eating Vietnamese soups my whole life and cooking pho for like 10 years now. The broth was clearly overly diluted with water without proper re-seasoning of spices and aromatics. I am saying this in the nicest way possible because I think that this is a cute little restaurant. But this has honestly been one of the worst pho I've ever had in Los Angeles. This is my second time coming here and the first time was equally as bad. The prices are a little bit high, but it's in West Hollywood so you can't expect much from that aspect. The food is what they really really need to be working on. The broth is so strangely bland and pho is good usually because of all the herbs and spices that they put into the broth. The broth that they use does not taste rich, does not taste herb-y. It just tastes like very slightly salty water. When you go to good pho places, you can really taste things like the star anise and the beef bones but this place just does not have it and they really need to work on improving that. I had the pork banh mi and they put extra fat on my sandwich, it's not fresh at all, the cilantro and cucumber tasted like it has been expired. I was not happy with this banh mi. I've had waaaay better and fresh banh mi. I also ordered the beef broth by itself and there is no taste. The broth tasted like plain water. lol I could've made this at home and taste 10 times better. Located in the same plaza as the Avalon West Hollywood and Trader Joe's. There's a fair amount of parking but you may need to walk a few blocks. Tried the meatball pho and the Washugyu Beef Pho - they were good, but nothing too memorable. The meat was tender and the meatballs were flavorful, however the broth was pretty bland (not in terms of salt levels but the umami just wasn't there). The portions were substantial and they give you a generous amount of protein. The noodles were a bit too soft/mushy for my liking. I love that they allow dogs outside on the patio, and they're not too crowded so we were able to have a relaxing meal without our dog getting anxious or triggered. The server offered our pup a water bowl which was nice. Not sure if I'd come back since there's plenty of fantastic pho spots in LA (Nong la is my fav), but it's pretty good if you're in the area craving some soup! read more

I'm sure this place is fabulous, but after having the craving of Viet Pho, this didn't hit the spot.
