As soon as i got my phone back, i started getting fraudulent charges on my card. Not only were they overpriced, but the cashier took my card behind the counter which is where i think he took my info. On top of that, he made me go to my settings and disabled something in there that i'm not sure of what he did but all i know is after using this company i've had $670+ stolen from me

Tom says he tries to "make the most money he can from every sale" as he points to the NO REFUND sign. Ethics and honesty are non existent here. I am assisting my father with writing this review. I have spoken with Tom in person in attempt to rectify the situation to no avail. BUYER BEWARE! The situation: A man in his 70's received an email from TracFone stating that his old clam shell will not be supported soon. He takes a similar old Sanyo clam shell phone with him looking for a solution. To support local small businesses he visits Tom ("I'm not the owner") @ Phone Repair Guy and explains his situation. When anyone with a conscience would look at the Sanyo and say go buy a new Tracfone @ Walmart for $20 Tom performs a bench test for $25 then says the motherboard needs replacing, then up sells an overpriced charger and gives a bill for OVER $100 ! He then says go to Sprint to activate.

There was no way to remove the battery & stop the beeping. The display indicated it had reached the end of its life. Everything I found in research was for units whose battery could be replaced. FINALLY I found a Reddit post for the same model which detailed how to stop the beeping. Whewww.,.... The next step was to find a location that would accept it for recycling since it couldn't be disposed of with regular trash. The city, even the 2nd Precinct Police Station, was absolutely no help. Finally.....I found this close business & it was still open. I called Mr. Fix, telling him what I had, and he confirmed that he would take this evil device that had ruined my afternoon. The outside of the store was well maintained with nice signage & tasteful advertising on the windows. Entering the store I found a clean, neatly organized business with a friendly man behind the counter. He immediately knew who I was, probably from my still present vestiges of the continuous beeping stress. He immediately popped open the sealed compartment, removed the battery & cut out a capacitor. We discussed his personal projects that I know require soldering skills that are hard to find in today's generation. Having been in the electronics repair business for 25 years, I recognized him as someone who was competent in his skills & enjoyed electronics repair. Although my experience with the business was in electronics recycling I would feel comfortable with his working on my beloved iPhone & iPad. I'm happy that he will make use of the components in devices recycled with him (not in Phones or Tablets, of course). They won't end up in a garbage dump. The location is in the strip shopping center located on the southeast corner of the intersection on Pleasure House Road & Shore Drive. Parking is adequate. I found a space directly in front of the business. This is a business I would highly recommend for electronics recycling. From my observations of his care & work on the circuit board of the evil unit that I had abandoned, I would think he showed equal care on devices brought to him for repair.

Between fixing cracked phone screens, replacing old batteries, recovering data from a dead computer, and other repairs, Jason has come to our rescue numerous times and saved us hundreds if not thousands of dollars. The only thing I don't like is that I was not told before agreeing to getting my phone repaired that I would have a code in my phone and pop up that stays on the Home Screen saying my phone was not repaired with a actual I phone brand screen . This error is now forever in my settings and I won't be able to return my phone to my phone company. Is this a place to get a phone or other electronic fixed in a jiffy ? Yes . Is this a place where quality work is done ? Yes minus honesty . I have a feeling if I had been told this before hand I would have just went to an apple store anyways for 150$ (what I paid for my 11 to get fixed . My phone is still working fine so I'm not knocking the work . More or less disappointed with the lack of communication beforehand . Lesson learned on my part .

How would you approach a business that flat out lied to you?…read more I went to this shop because of all the great reviews and length of time being in service. I spoke with the owner prior to arriving to make sure my situation could be easily remedied. When I arrived, the top tech said the owner was on the phone and would be able to speak with me in a bit. I decided to move forward and pay. I then asked if I could now speak with the owner and was told he wasn't there. Was this an attempt to just get my money? I calmly stated... "that's not what you just said BEFORE I paid." He tried to bullshit me and say I could have spoken to him earlier as he too has an accent (like the owner). I told him ... "Don't do that. We already confirmed it was the owner I spoke with." He grabbed my laptop from the back and said to his co-worker... "We have a problem." Yes we do.. I caught you in a lie and rather than take accountability and responsibility for your actions, you tried to sidestep and cover for your lie. Not to worry... This story has a positive ending... I left and went to "COMPUTER GUY" and had the most incredible experience.... Chris and Christopher were hands down the best in not only customer service but in providing the attention to detail and care in making sure I made the best decisions cost-wise with my tech issue. I would avoid Virgil Computers (not just because the Senior tech lied) but, because that leaves a precedence for what other disingenuous actions they might perform while servicing something so personal as one's laptop.

It's not luck at all but a little research on Yelp that paid off nicely on locating PC Rehab…read more Thanks to two Elite reviews by friends Lance and Pat my old lap top runs great and my son has a "like new" computer to use for school. There is a lot of demand for PC repairs and locating the right one makes all the difference in the world. When I rolled up on PC Rehab they had great signage in a strip mall by a Farm Fresh Grocery. The lot, sidewalks and store front were clean and attractive. I walked in the store and was greeted by the owner Drew. The business was clean and presented well to customers. The workshop is semi visible in the rear. I discussed repair of my six year old Lenovo that had become bug ridden and needed an updated operating system. I agreed to have the system completely cleaned off which waived a diagnostic cost of around $25. Within 24 hours I got a call back from Drew that he had installed a new operating system with upgraded software and that is was running perfectly. I headed back to the store and my lap top was setting on the counter for pick up. The price for repair and install of new software was very fair. When I got home, turned on my laptop it indeed operated like it was just out of the box. The computer ran so smoothly that I was flabbergasted. Better yet, my son now has a computer he can use for his middle school classes. I think he was more over joyed than me and used it day one with not a single hitch. The professionalism and expertise by PC Rehab was amazing. In an industry where the consumer can easily be taken advantage of, or most likely have inept labor conducting repairs this was completely refreshing. I am already planning on taking another computer in soon. Thank you Drew...

So, I came to yelp to find a computer repair shop and PC Rehab was relatively close and well rated. I took it in on a Friday around 10 am and got the call that it was done around noon. They had it back to me with no problems and running great again. The only reason I knocked them down a star was the price. When I dropped it off, I was told the diagnostic was $50 and when I picked it up the total came to $99. Given what I was told was the problem (replace CMOS battery that is maybe five bucks), a $49 charge beyond the diagnostic fee seems a bit high. In addition, I was not given a detailed receipt showing what each service costs. To be fair, however, I didn't ask. The service was fast and efficient and I take some of the blame for not asking more questions on the details of the charges. I would recommend, however, if anyone from PC Rehab reads this, to offer a detailed receipt for work done. All told, I would definitely return to these guys because they clearly know their stuff.
