I had been told not to fix my old computer. It had crashed a couple of years ago with all my pictures and some important documents on it that I really wanted access to, but instead I was talked into purchasing a new computer after being told it wasn't worth it, yada, yada. So another year went by and that old computer was just staring at me, tauting me with that blank screen and holding all my memories of my dearest friend who passed away. Finally I decided to call Virgil's computer, not another big company and inquired about having it repaired. Even though they also said it's outdated, they could fix it and did!! They had to get some parts from a different manufacturer, but it works and I could get to those pictures and secure them to a disk. Well, when I tried to do this, I found the DVD wasn't working so I called Virgil's. Sam had me bring it back, he fixed it no charge and walked me through getting it up and running when I got home with it. I can't thank them enough. Not a good experience!! I called them today becase I needed a charging cord for my Toshiba laptop. After talking to Tom, he told me that they had no new ones but had used ones starting at $29. I told him that I would be there shortly. I live 4 miles away. I left right away. When I got there Tom wasn't there and after informing the guy working there of our conversation, he could not find any for my computer. He then called Tom. Once he got off the phone he informed me that they only had universal chargers and it would be $39. At the least, I should have been sold it for the price quoted. NOT GOOD BUSINESS! I informed him as such and he just shrugged his shoulders. This was a simple straight forward request that I had. TRUST LOST! Glad that I didn't invest money for a repair. Great place to buy or have your computer repaired. They built a desktop computer for my wife 7 years ago and help me select and order my 17" laptop HP Envy computer 2 years ago. I recently had a problem trying to disable my touchpad....I prefer a mouse. When Sam and I were unable to resolve the issue over the phone I took the laptop down to Virgil's where Sam discovered the absence of a proper driver for the touchpad. I have always found Virgil Computer people to be very generous with their knowledge and eager to assist the computer community. Just got back from Virgil Computers. Again, the best and quickest service for the multitude of IT problems that come up when an old geezer like me tries to keep a toe in the current of the internet river. I've been going to Virgil's for years and not once have I ever been let down by their service. Just recently, I went in to get a new graphics card installed because I was afraid of messing something up, and I was afraid I'd need a new power supply as well.
