I've had ADT for years but for what my needs are now, ADT couldn't deliver and that what prompted me to shop around. When Jodi came to my home and did the walk through, she was knowledgeable in what equipment I would need. Come to find out she worked with JB for over 30 years! So she knew the inside and outs of security. Within a day, she sent me a quote and info video of the panel that will be installed. Day of installation, Willy was my technician and he was very friendly and respectful of my home and space. He set up his work area nicely with all his tools and equipment and walked me through what he will be doing. During our small talks, he mentioned he worked for JB for 20 years! That speaks volumes when you have long lasting employees. It tells me they take care of their employees and in turn they will take care of their customers. Everything was sent of nicely and after installation, Willy assisted me in getting me the App up and running on my phone. He walked me through all the sensors and panels. So far it's been working like it should. No issues. I'm able to disarm and arm my system whenever and wherever I am. I get to look at my front door camera without any issues connecting to it. John's Brother has been a good security company so far, hopefully they will stay at high star for me after the bill comes in LOLOLOL!!

We also got log in's to both the alarm panel and the monitoring center to see everything and make changes. The system was all color screens and could do things for our home like turn on lights when we are away like on a timer. They were able to install within 2 hours which was important and did not pressure us in any way to sign up. They also gave us a 30 day no questions asked cancellation if we didn't like. We thought the system in our previous house had been canceled but we continued to receive alarms for several weeks. When that was finally resolved we had problems with the display panel in the new house and were told it needed a new backup battery even though it had just been installed and since it was past 60 days we would have to pay a service fee. Then the problems with the medic alert pendant started. We received the first call on Oct 31st while my husband was in the hospital after a minor stroke and the pendant was at home on his nightstand. Apparently it needed a new battery also even though we were again assured that such failures were very unusual. We were told the earliest a repair tech could be scheduled was November 21st -- 3 weeks later. Because of the repeated problems and shortage of technicians we have asked to cancel the account but Vector refuses because we are trapped in a 3 year contract.

During the security walk thru I was informed I had a 30 day trial period which I specifically asked about due to going out to sea( I'm in the military) This trial period is actually 3 days in the contract(which the installer accidentally sent to the wrong email). When I went to cancel due to poor customer service as well as other reasons such as some of those listed next . One reason had to call 4 times to get the contract as well as for the gift card which I still never received. Another reason is the system also had several false fire alarms late at night some of which I was present for some I wasn't. I was charged 75% of my contract a fee that was almost $1600 as well as not refunded for the 1600 worth of equipment I purchased in July.This organization has several reviews and such with similar things all over the internet. A short google search will tell you that they have a tendency to try to stick it to you or fail to adequately explain the trial period and canceling while having items such as the 3 day period in the lengthy contract. Be aware defenders customer service as well as corporate have done nothing to remedy this as they used a third party to install so they feel they are not responsible for what the contracted out or agreements made in their name.
