The place was packed an hour before closing. It was just a good sign. The service was good. We had multiple people ask us if we needed anything made sure the food came out pretty fast. Flavor was on point. I had a short rib soup. It was so good. It had a depth to it very warm flavor bowl. You can definitely have a strong meat taste to the broth. We also ordered the shaking beef. The beef was extremely tender. The vegetables were sautéed seasoned to perfection and then we also ordered the beef spring rolls for me. The spring rolls were OK. I like more of the shrimp ones. I wanted to try something new I believe because the meat is hot. It does mess up with the roll in house while it's wrapped it felt like the heat of it kind of messed up the integrity of how the wraps are usually pretty tight but besides that it is definitely a good place but like I say, give it a try and then you decide. read more

I was very disappointed during my last visit. I live around the corner so this is my go to pho spot and consider myself a very loyal customer. Today I went for pho and tea with my friend like I usually do. My friend ordered the creamy coconut Thai tea and it tasted like dirty soap water. I loved this place so I kindly asked for a remake and they refused but shouted it across the restaurant which attracted many stares. I paid and left the drink there. Pho Kobe is gonna be my new spot after this experience, definitely recommend them instead. This spot is local to my house, so I've been here a handful of times. Food comes out fast, service could improve, but it's always busy here, which is a good thing! They have plenty of seating, it's a bit loud with kitchen noises, music, and the patrons that visit. I come for the pho, I have tried the shrimp spring rolls but I personally don't like the shredded cabbage. I tried the egg rolls and they were nice and crunchy. Would get those again. This restaurant is nice and clean, it gives a family friendly feel as soon as you walk through the door. You are able to sit anywhere you'd like, and as soon as you are seated you are brought water and a menu. The food here is a 10 out of 10. I go for places that really make my tastebuds dance and this is one of them. They have a very good broth to their soups. The vermicelli noodles are delightful and light on a hot summers day as well. I also can get enough of their drinks. They are just as pretty in person as they are on the photos. True to size and the flavors are spot on fantastic! As I visited three times before writing this recipe I also saw the consistency in their dishes. I highly recommend dropping by with family or on a date. Went here with a buddy an hour or so before closing. Can be kind of confusing when you walk in if you've never ordered here before -- there's a big line going up to the counter. That's the take out line. If you want to dine in, just go sit at a table and someone will come give you a menu. Probably. Biggest problem with this place was service. They had two waiters and not a whole lot of table checkins. We were here for about an hour and had someone stop by after food to see if we wanted another beer one time. Asked for my check, waiter seemed displeased with that slightly, brought the check and then immediately went on break and had a bowl of noodles a few tables over. I had immediately put my card in the check folder but it sat there for 10+ minutes till I waived another waiter down. Service is meh at best. Food was good. Got the pork bahn mi (they call it Vietnamese Sandwiches) and a bowl of Special Pho. Some of the Phos are $25-28, not really a good value in my opinion but the $14-16 bowls are a good value and taste great. Make sure to ask for some chilie seasoning to up your spice game. Ambiance is nothing special, lot of tables and booths jammed together with salt of the earth people eating good food. She then went to take the other 2 people's order even though we came in first. STILL ON THE PHONE. No greeting. No order. Place had multiple dirty tables. We left. If the person working there doesn't care about the people who come in I don't want to know what kind of care they put into their food. We went to PHO KOBE. My fiancé and I drive home from Pahrump to LA twice a month. I was tired of stopping by fast food joints. I was craving pho since Pahrump does not have a Pho place. So I did a search of one. There were none in Barstow or Yermo. I had to wait until we got into Victorville. Let me tell you, I am a pho snob. I live in SGV, hub of Asian food and I go to Little Saigon, too. So, I know my pho. Pho is my comfort food. I try to eat it once a week. When I travel, I try to find a pho place because I get tired of eating American food. I have had horrible pho in South Dakota and Philly. So, I get weary when I see a pho place with only 3 stars. Luckily, I gave this place a chance and ignore the haters of this place. I ordered pho tai. The broth came out hot. This helped cook the meat and noodles. As a result, their pho noodles were soft and chewy just like how I like my pho to be. It hit the spot, for sure. I hope the owners read this and reconsider how they treat their customers. Pholicious, located at the corner of Amethyst and Bear Valley, delivers a hit-or-miss dining experience. Some dishes impress, while others fall short, and the overall customer service leaves much to be desired. Starting with the food--The Pho Special was decent, with a flavorful broth, but the meat was a bit on the tough side. Calamari? Disappointing. Somehow both salty and bland at the same time. Go figure. Strawberry Matcha drink? A total fail--overly sweet at the bottom where the strawberries sit, yet completely bland on top where the matcha floats. But their Pork Buns? Surprisingly legit. Probably the highlight of the menu. Service is slow but friendly--the staff does their best, but the real issue here is with management and their strict (and, frankly, ridiculous) policies. On our last visit, we witnessed the owner, a small Asian lady (with an upturned nose and deep creases between her brows) arguing with a customer who simply wanted his order corrected. The customer remained calm, explaining the issue, but the owner refused to listen and accused him of having already eaten the meal. It was an uncomfortable and unnecessary scene for everyone in the restaurant. If you make a mistake, just fix it--why embarrass your customers like that? The incident took at least 15 mins arguing back and forth but the customer was there waiting for the owner at least 15 mins prior. This is the same place that used to have no refund policy signs plastered all over their windows. Those signs are gone now, but it seems the mindset hasn't changed. They clearly still operate with the same "no refunds, no flexibility" attitude. Pro tip: If you do decide to dine here and want to leave a tip, leave it in cash. According to our server, cash tips go into a jar and get shared among the shift, whereas credit card tips may not be as fairly distributed. Bottom line: If you come here, manage your expectations. Some food is good, some is forgettable, and if you ever need to bring an issue to the owner, good luck with that. I prefer Pho Le on Mariposa Ave. but since I was tired today, I was not in the mood to drive. At least at Pho Le, the food is consistently good and the service is always professional. read more

I usually stick to pho at Vietnamese restaurants, but I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone this time. The vermicelli bowl is officially my new favorite--crazy good flavor, perfectly grilled pork, and crispy eggrolls. The shrimp fried rice was spot on too--light, flavorful, and not greasy at all. And then there's the Strawbellicious. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations, but it blew me away. Honestly, I walked in and was turned off by the ambiance. The restaurant was empty but there were some dirty dishes on the tables. Two ladies sat in the corner with their shoes off wrapping forks and spoons with a rubber band and throwing them in a box. Other workers sat refilling sauce jars. I looked at the menu and nothing screamed out but I saw the shrimp spring rolls and decided to try something small. The rolls consisted of lots of lettuce, cabbage and two shrimp split to make four pieces. After three bites of lettuce, I finally tasted the shrimp. It was busy and there are a ton of tables. You can smell pho when you walk in, excellent sign. We ordered quickly because service was fast and friendly. We got spring rolls (here they are spring rolls and in Hawaii they're summer rolls). We also ordered egg rolls and then different pho and a milk tea. The pho broth was nice and full bodied. It had great flavors and in my opinion I would have enjoyed a few more spices but that is a personal taste. It was good and hearty and they gave good amounts of meat. A couple years I stopped in for pho and was very disappointed not only in the quality of the meat but the temperature of the pho was not very hot and lacked flavor. I ordered, the beef and lemongrass with rice, two orders actually. And I ordered a pork banh mi sandwich. Let me say both were terrible. The shredded beef had fat and gristle in it, And for 18 bucks they could have given more (but it wasn't good so it wouldn't have mattered). It came with rice and a couple of cucumbers and tomatoes. The banh mi pork sandwich, The bread seem stale and crusty, and there was very little meat inside, with very little taste. The whole meal was a disappointment to us and I can certainly say this will absolutely be the last time I eat anything from Pholicious. Ironically, we were going to order from another place but they close at 8:00 (it was 7:50) and this place was open until 9:00. The best pho which I have been eating for years now. It hasn't changed and I always know that it will be worth the drive to the mall. The broth is delicious. It's a great place to get a bowl and take it home to enjoy since the pack the noodles and broth separately for travel. The sides come with the works but I prefer the broth, noodles and some green onions. A little sriracha sauce and lime go a long way for me. The steamed pork buns are amazing and the dipping sauce takes it to another level. I have had the meats before but prefer my pho meatless. The Vietnamese boba is the best in town. I just went today and there's some thing that really stood out... THEY HAD A DOG BARKING RELENTLESSLY IN THEIR KITCHEN. The lady noticed I was in shock and communicated with the personnel in the back and they immediately put the dog in the car (without ventilation). Ive never seen a dog in a kitchen and was in shock! The big fans have crusty yellow things on them and the area in general doesn't seem very clean. As for the food, the Vietnamese egg rolls are very good !
