2. Rare steak, Brisket | Extra fresh noodles
Timothy Spencer T.

TLDR: Although the prices have gone up, I think it's still one of the better pho chains that one can go to. You get a good amount of noodles, plenty of soup, and there's enough meat there to not feel shortchanged. 2. Rare steak, Brisket: It's not the lightest soup to drink, nor do I think it's the best, but I think it's one that I can remember the most. Pho broths for me tend to be a blur, but I know I can identify this place's broth in a blind taste test. Noodle wise, I chose the flat fresh noodles, which I much prefer to the classic pho rice noodle. The brisket is oddly the most brisket looking cut in all the pho spots I go to, but I'd argue that it's below average. The rare steak however is one of the better ones I've had in a pho spot, which ironically balances things out. Service: They're quick to serve, and they want things run efficiently. I like it. Ambiance: The place is definitely designed to feel fancy for a pho spot. Funnily, I feel that the place was very Thai coded. Half meant jokes aside, it's nice, it's clean, and it's a good place to bring friends and family.

I originally heard about PhoHolic from a friend who went to the Garden Grove location, and her family had recommended it to her, so I was super excited to finally try it! I thought the menu was pretty cool because they have three different levels of pho. It starts with the basic options, then you can go up to options with more meat and even more meat. You also get to choose between regular pho noodles or the flat fresh noodles, which I definitely wanted to try. I also loved that they brought out cooked bean sprouts before we even ordered. Such a small thing, but I appreciated it! I ordered the beef ball and steak with the fresh noodles. The meat was good and the fresh noodles were a nice change, but honestly, the broth was just okay for me. It wasn't bad, but I didn't find it to be anything particularly special or memorable. I'm from the Bay Area, so maybe I'm a little spoiled when it comes to pho, but I definitely prefer the deeper, more umami rich broths I've had back home. Unfortunately, PhoHolic's broth just didn't quite compare for me. That being said, I really liked the overall experience. The restaurant was super clean, the staff were friendly, and everything felt well taken care of. I'm glad I finally got to try the place after hearing so many good things about it! Overall, I'd say it's worth trying if you're in the area, especially if you like having different meat options and want to try the fresh noodles. For me, though, the broth is what makes or breaks a bowl of pho, and that's where this one fell a little short.

Great food, and super kid-friendly! Came here with the family for dinner several times and loved it! Kids Pho Bowl: They actually serve a mini pho bowl for toddlers! Perfect portion so no food goes to waste. They also gave us high chairs, plastic utensils, and noodle scissors without us even asking. Easy Parking: Tons of parking spots in their big private lot. Zero stress finding a space. Food & Price: Huge adult portions, super flavorful broth, and very affordable. Great bang for your buck ($$). Quick service and super friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!

Yummy as always. Didn't care for the hot tea tho. It was very floral, which I don't like. Just drank ice water to help wash down the MSG taste, which makes you super thirsty.

Pho Holic is all about the pho -- and that's a good thing. The menu here is refreshingly simple: just pho, and you get to build your own bowl by picking your ingredients. The meatballs are perfect -- they pair so well with the broth. As for the noodles, the small ones have a nice, chewy bite, while the flat noodles are smooth and silky. The brisket portion is generous, though some pieces came out a little tough. The tendon was a mixed bag too -- some pieces were soft and tender, while others were still too chewy. That said, the soup base is the real star: amazingly sweet and savory. Despite a few inconsistencies with the meats, the broth alone makes it worth a visit. The drinks deserve a shoutout too. The wintermelon drink comes with chewy boba and isn't too sweet -- perfect for an Asian palate. The lychee fruit drink is tasty and comes with three lychee fruits. And the Vietnamese iced coffee is perfectly blended, rich in coffee flavor with sweet condensed milk.

Solid pho spot! Didn't realize they had a store in Hacienda Heights - now I don't need to drive to OC anymore! Staff were super friendly and the food came out fast! And I was surprised by how big and clean this store was.

This new location looked so nice compared to the other locations. The tables were so close to each other, which was a bit annoying. Even the staffs had a hard time getting thru to deliver the foods. We were seated pretty quickly. Right when seated, the staff brought out the veggies and tea. Once we placed the order, the foods came out fairly quickly. The broth was a bit salty, but it was good. The pho was not overly soft or chewy. The meats were huge and way too thick, imo. This made the meats somewhat dry. Not sure what happened to the other locations. The quality went downhill. If you want phoholic, this one would be the better choice.

Came here for pho on a late night. Was surprised they were open so late but I've been wanting to try this place now for a few weeks. I've been seeing this place pop up on my social media and yelp a lot and I'm glad I tried it. I got the #11 which came with steak, flank, tendon, fatty flank, and tripe. My first impression of the pho was that the broth was actually really flavorful and rich. I'd say the broth definitely stood out from the typical places that I usually go to (which is saying a lot since I already go to so much). The meat quality was also really good. Other than that, I noticed that they only have pho on their menu besides a couple of other drink options. The ambience of the restaurant is also really aesthetic, pretty, and clean. The service was pretty quick. They gave us the toppings (bean sprouts, basil, utensils) and water upon seating. The pho also came out super fast! I would definitely come here again! The price was super worth it and a lot more affordable compared to other pho places that I'm used to. If you're ever craving some late night pho, a quick pho stop, or if you're ever in the area, I would highly recommend giving this place a try

A Vietnamese restaurant has finally opened near my house, after being under construction for a long time since last year. The interior is very luxurious, the seating is spacious and comfortable, and it has the atmosphere of a high-class restaurant. The food arrived shortly after ordering. Drinks were also served quickly, which is good. The pho was standard, with plenty of broth and meat, a small amount of noodles, and an average taste. The bean sprouts were boiled, and the vegetables were fresh. It's a good restaurant, and I would definitely come back.

I was craving some pho & wanted something quick so I decided to come to phoholic. The first time I tried it, I wasn't a big fan but I decided to give it another try & it was a lot better than my first experience. I usually only ever order pho tai so I've tried a variety from different establishments. The broth was very rich & flavorful but had a lot of fat. The meat was just alright. It didn't taste or have the texture of the tai meat slices that I'm usually accustomed to. It was all clumped up and required some breaking apart before I could eat it. Overall, I had a better experience than my first time dining at phoholic. I'm not sure if I would come back since there's so many other great pho restaurants.

Finally I got a chance to come and try out this hottest Pho place. The restaurant is really clean and cozy. They have some both seats and wooden tables. I'm in love with their rich, deeply savory broth without tasting like salt lick or a massive chemical bomb like MSG. Another plus point is the generous portion of noodles, and the herbs plate was actually fresh-lots of culantro, basil and crispy bean sprouts. If you want a clean, traditional bowl of beef pho, skip the hype-chasers and just come here.

At first I had my doubts, a restaurant named Pho-Holic can't be taken seriously. But then I was seated. Ordered their Pho "Holic" and a side of Beef Back Ribs..... And then the food came... And I started questioning if I really knew anything about Pho. The soup, a glistening golden color, clear, crisp with very deep deep bone marrow aromas just dispersing from the steam of the soup. Absolutely stunning, just gazing at the coloring, nothing overpowering, peppers, fennel, coriander, anise evenly distributed in the body, all extremely subtle, no hints of one herb or spice trying to take the spotlight ...... this beautiful fusion of fats, spices and Umami intertwined in the soup had equally steeped into the meats. And I took a bite, then sipped. The earthly tones, subtle sweetness and again just this blend of herbs and spices rich, deep, Alot of bone Umami, dancing a ballad on your taste buds. What a treat. For a second, I almost tasted hints of Chinese Angelica Roots, the soul of Bak Kuh The 肉骨茶 (Rou Gu Cha) ribs.. Every bite further into the Beef Back Ribs, there was just this surprise of that medicinal property. I don't know... maybe my mind was playing games with me. However, I definitely felt like I traveled 100-150 years back to an early Teochew (潮州) village in Vietnam, and this was some sort of long lost recipe from the early Fujjan Teochew Settlers in Vietnam; the soup base is Alot different here having that Cantonese Fujjan/ Teochew influence. Which begs the question...maybe the owners are Viet Chinese. But that's not the point. This is undoubtedly some of the best Pho I think anyone will get. And to be honest and fair, I last reviewed Pho & Broth in Ontario, it was closer to the style of Pho Ive come to enjoy in Denver Colorado at Pho 555. But now, I think if I had to throw in a list that included Golden Delight, Golden Deli, Pho & Broth, Pho Hai, Pho 79, Pho Ha, Pho Bamboo Vietnamese, Pho Anvi West, Pho Rowland, (Yes I Have indeed patronized all these places), Pho Holic gets my pick for Best Pho overall in the two counties of Los Angeles and Orange. Before my review, I honestly thought I was going to write a very mid review like "bleh, it's whatever, service is slow" but yes other than being seated and no one came to take my order for ages, the Hype is well deserved. Wait-list understandable. This review was strictly based on one dish: The Dac Biet Pho.

People have compared their summer rolls to Brodard and Summer Rolls!…read more For three, we ordered banh beo, banh xeo, pork spring rolls, bun bo hue, and a grilled pork rice plate. I guess everyone was right because the pork spring rolls were AMAZING. The egg roll they use inside is HELLA crunchy. Is it better than Brodard or Summer Rolls? Very comparable!! My next favorite was their banh xeo and rice plate. The rice plate is better than most because it comes with a fried egg! As for their banh xeo, it's solid and they add sliced onions which is something I've never seen before. The bun bo hue was good too. The only letdown was the banh beo because the wrapper is too thick. Definitely get the spring rolls!

This time, I ordered through Uber Eats and got the beef rice, seafood udon soup, and pork spring rolls. In the notes, I specifically requested both the shrimp sauce and fish sauce for the spring rolls, but when my order arrived, I only received the fish sauce. I also requested basil for my soup and received no basil at all. What makes this even more frustrating is that this isn't the first time my requests have been ignored. Whenever I order the spring rolls, I usually request no cucumber, yet they still frequently come with cucumber. I understand mistakes happen, but when it keeps happening over and over again, it starts to feel like nobody is actually reading or paying attention to the order instructions. Another thing that really surprised me was how one of the egg rolls was packaged. They literally put the egg roll loose inside the Uber Eats paper bag without wrapping it or putting it in any type of container. I honestly found that extremely unprofessional and concerning from a cleanliness standpoint. Food should not just be thrown loose into the same paper bag used to transport the entire order. It's especially disappointing with a delivery order because I'm not physically at the restaurant where I can simply tell someone, "Hey, you forgot my sauce," or point out that something is wrong and have it corrected. By the time the food arrives, I'm stuck with an incomplete or incorrect order. I genuinely like the food here, which is why this is so frustrating. I want to continue supporting and enjoying this restaurant, but there needs to be more care and attention when preparing customers' orders, especially when specific requests are clearly written. Between missing items, repeatedly ignoring requests, and the way the egg roll was packaged, today's order was extremely disappointing.
